The White House hopeful Barack Obama says an air strike on Iran will not halt its nuclear program, calling for tougher Iran sanctions.
“Iran is a big country. They have dispersed their nuclear capabilities in a way that you are not going to see smooth, surgical strikes solving the problem entirely the way that Israel was able to deal with Iraq’s nuclear threat,” he told ABC News.
The Illinois senator called for “tough sanctions” coupled with “tough diplomacy that makes the calculus for the Iranians different.”

While insisting that “war is not a good option,” Obama maintained that he “would not take military options off the table when it comes to Iran and dealing with their nuclear capacity.”
The US has set a two-week deadline for Tehran to halt its nuclear program, after their talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
Envoys from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council–China, Russia, the US, Britain and France–plus Germany held a meeting in Geneva on Saturday to discuss Iran’s nuclear program.

Of course it will be useless since Iran doesnt have any nukes, also even if the U.S.A. attacked Iran they will be alive and well according to scripture to attack Israel in the last days with a Muslim coalition and Russia (Ezekiel 38&39).

Go Obama! It’s good to hear a moderate voice of sound reasoning amid all the hawkish neocon propoganda. Hard diplomacy and sanctions are the answer – wars always create pain and misery for everyone and shouldn’t even be on the table. for the record I don’t really care whether or not iran develops nuclear weapons as everyone else seems to have them.

mr obama should attack israel as they do have a nuclear capability with over 330 weapons and are a clear and present threat to the world in many ways besides iran who has no nuclear bombs.

Read Scott Ritter’s book “Target Iran”. He lays out the scenario quite clearly. I’m sure Obama is using this book as a guide.
Bombing Iran will not work. It will not remove the regime or decapitation. Bush would then go to Phaze II-Boots on the ground. He will put boots on the ground. But when these troops are trapped, there will be no one that will come to the rescue, which will lead to a nuclear strike (because significant amount of troops will now be in harms way).
Obama knows this. He understands it. He’s a smart cookie. He’s a fraud but he’s a very smart fraud. This guy will keep us at war for another decade and will use fear tactics against the American people to do so.

Sigh!!!!! It is NATO that is going into Afghanistan, as soon as Blair, and his guys in the USA, can make the plan work. NATO, of course, is being transformed into the standing army of the EU. The US army is soon to be way too valuable to waste as an army of occupation, and is to be used almost entirely for front line work (remember the coming Global War?).
One thing that you must recognise about Bush and the Neo-Cons: they were poison to Blair’s greater project in the EU, and delayed his plans there considerably. Still, it was a case of swings and roundabouts, and as we now know, Blair made good in plenty of other areas.
Now is the time for the GREAT TRANSFORMATION. The USA is only less than 50% of the puzzle pieces. The EU must provide the greater part of the picture. Do you not watch the news? The irony of the Middle East is that it is already completely controlled by the massive corporations of the West. The trillions of dollars lost on the invasion of Iraq had a cheaper alternative, ask strongman Saddam to provide his oil at the usually low cost.
You still think, comparing those two options, that any part of the invasion was about oil? The existing regimes in the Middle East were created (at great effort) by the UK and USA to give greatest economic control at the lowest price possible. Even the creation of the nazi-like state of Israel was part of the economic machine, keeping the muslim regimes contained. (Israel was created to prevent the spread of modern ‘democracies’ to the Middle East. Empire powers do not get a good deal from democracies, but get an excellent deal from despotic regimes.)
War in the Middle East can only disrupt the financial and resource interests of the West.
No, Blair (and his people in the USA) intend to invade the Middle East, actually geo-political territory in their own bloc, in order to trigger the new Global War. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion but generalising on the spiritual and moral stature of an entire race based on the actions of a few evil people of the same race is a bit naive.
On a spiritual level we are all ‘One’ regardless of the colour of our skin. Realising this fact serves to promote spiritual healthiness by encouraging harmony and balance in the collective spirit. On the other hand, separating ourselves from the whole by attacking and fighting each other encourages disharmony or dis-ease of the collective spirit.
It may sound a bit like a cliche but choosing to make the effort of loving each other, regardless of race etc, is the only way our world will become a better place…
