Obama To Keep Gates At Pentagon

Barack Obama is expected to confirm he will keep Robert Gates in place as Defence Secretary when he becomes US President in January.
Mr Gates has served at the Pentagon for two years under George Bush.
Keeping him in place will be interpreted as an attempt at providing continuity at a time when thousands of US troops are serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Mr Obama’s team can also present the move as an example of bipartisanship.

Meanwhile, retired marine general James Jones, a former Nato Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, is expected to be confirmed as Mr Obama’s National Security Advisor.
The Politico news website predicted the appointments would be announced next week, when the new president could also confirm Hillary Clinton – his former rival for the Democratic nomination – as Secretary of State, the US equivalent of foreign secretary.
Some sources have suggested that neither Mr Gates nor Mr Jones had made final agreements on the positions.

I voted for change! I voted for obama to change America WHY IS HE DOING THIS I put all my hope into OBAMA and this is how he treats me!! I am sick to my stomch all this time I was getting people to vote for change vote for obama and he does this!!! NO!!!! This is such a slap in my face a big F U!! I would have supported mccain if I wanted the same as bush!! and from the looks of it he is putting most of the people bill clintion had in his admin.. DAMN IT OBAMA I PUT MY HOPE IN YOU TO CHANGE AMERICA NOT GIVE US WHAT WE ONCE HAD AND ALREADY HAVE!! I AM SO SICK OF AMERICA NOW IM LEAVING THE COUNTRY!!!!

What happend to brining the troops home in march 09!! I told everyone this this is why I voted for obama this is why a lot of people did how can he bring troops home in march 09 like he promised me!! ERRRRRR!!!!

gee whiz, cool. i am six feet tall, green eyes, blonde hair and straight from the sunny fl coast.. i also am on to this mess that we are in. does that mean the firing squad at fema camp, geeeotine or breeding tank for the nazi creeps?????hint, multiples in family……hmmmm. come and get me pals as i am armed with the weapons of yur worst nightmares and a bit more than that. tracked, maaaad and a watchman. My conscience will always be at peace for my voting and sticking to RON PAUL. My conscience is the only peace I’ll see in my lifetime. ..To Bad..Ron Paul would have been for some REAL change. I kinda feel sorry for all the Obama supporters that where suckered into believing that change would happen to them. …Dummies all of em.
