Obama’s Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting

A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.
President Obama didn’t wait long after Tuesday’s devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.
After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a “shout-out” to “Dr. Joe Medicine Crow — that Congressional Medal of Honor winner.” Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?
Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That’s the least that should occur.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]
When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.
“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.
According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.”

Obama was made aware of what occured at Fort Hood prior to him going before a group of Native Americans and others present. He should have known to begin his speech with a somber graceful tone, and end it similarly, with the in between part dealing exclusively with the horrific slaughter of U.S. soldiers that took place at Fort Hood.
The Native Americans present there would have understood.
But no. Obama had to give a shout out first. He gave a shout out to Joe Medicine Crow in regard to him winning the Congressional Medal of Honor. But Crow is NOT on the list of those receiving this honor. Crow won the Medal of Freedom, so Buffoon Obama jacked that up as well.

Ya’ll know that I am CERTAINLY no bush fan. I disliked the man since I saw who his daddy was. BUT- he did sucessfully fly a Century series fighter aircraft. THAT takes a rather high level of intelligence, as those 2nd. generation fighters were VERY unforgiving, much like the WWI biplanes. So, whatever happened afterwards, he had, at some point in his life, an above average brain. (Yes, he probably fried it on coke and booze, but I mean before that, when he actually made decent grades at Yale). As for warhead? Hardly.

Yes, he certainly seems to have deteriorated, or perhaps he is one of those people who get’s easily stressed when there are large crowds and he has to speak. I know from experience that this makes, or rather made, me a worse speaker.
But, he certainly hasn’t been described as a deep intellectual thinker either. How do we know this? Well, from what he himself has said like that he is a not very analytical, more of a gut type of person and not much of a reader. As well as others who said that he never really is all that much curious about things.

I disagree with the idea that somehow President Obama was supposed to rush down to Fort Hood – to do what? Stand around with his hands in his pockets?
Obama was elected President, not Surgeon General – Obama’s not a doctor – so what good could he have done. Get real people!
Some people just like to complain at the drop of a hat and Obama did say something when he came on TV that he was sorry to hear about the shooting – but look, the Army probably pressured this guy about his religion and practically drove the man into going crazy and pulling the trigger. If that comes out to be the case when the investigation is done, and I presume that will be how it turns out once Congress looks into it, then that makes it the Army’s own fault this guy was shooting and makes HIM the victim, another innocent victim of Bush and his policies.
President Obama did say something nice and that should be the end of it.
People seem to forget it if wasn’t for Obama being up there right now then it would be another Bush, maybe the one out of Florida next – then we’d all be screwed royal.

Once again he’s shown his true colors and doesn’t really believe in half of what he reads or says. To tell you the truth, his speeches are beginning to get old and repeditive, as they ring hollow and phoney. Maybe that monkey icon in his pocket has something to do with his dishonesty and conceit.
