Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember, it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK, in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons, but will know that you did.
Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to disarm the citizens.
Gun-ban list proposed. Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress). It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady’s plan to introduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady’s current plans and targets of opportunity. It’s horrific. They’re going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict we the people. They’ve made little mention of criminals. Now more than ever, attention to the entire Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property, states’ rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in addition to the Second Amendment. The Democrats current gun-ban-list proposal (final list will be worse):

Any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that can accept more than
10 rounds (except tubular magazine .22 rim fire rifles).
A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a
detachable magazine, and has:
(i) a second pistol grip,
(ii) a threaded barrel,
(iii) a barrel shroud or
(iv) can accept a detachable magazine outside of the pistol grip, and
(v) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10
rounds.
A semiautomatic shotgun with:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock,
(ii) a pistol grip (see definition below),
(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine or a fixed magazine capacity
of more than 5 rounds, and
(iv) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
Frames or receivers for the above are included, along with conversion kits.
Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”
Note that Obama’s pick for this office, Eric Holder, wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, “there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.” In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public.
The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn’t have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose — is that devious or what? And of course, “sporting purpose” is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent.

I saw nothing in there about disarming the population.
Gun control doesn’t work. Neither does gun ownership. Rates of gun ownership are a single factor in the very very complicated issue of urban crime.

Once they disarm you, you are no longer free and will not be able to defend yourselves from the dictators nor the criminals that will surely be at your homes to steal anything they want.
The people on OZ have done well by well placed arms in multiple locations so they will be able to defend themselves when the time comes. We must do the same and not give them the satisfaction of Tyranny and make them come to us to get them if they want them so badly.

Just remember that every National Guard unit, every Army Reserve unit and most police agencies keep well stocked armories. They take the firing pins out but any good machinist can easily make them. I knew the man that was Castro’s armorer in the Sierra Maestro before he took over. (He fled for his life when Castro announced he was a “communist”) This man made a very good one shot .45 caliber pistol from a tractor cleat. Tell them to do their damnedest. I’ll sure do mine.

you are correct… they don’t take out the firing pins… they take out the entire bolt carrier assembly, including the firing pin… try joining the military and working as an armor before posting false claims

I was an armorer for years and have worked in LE for many more, never taken pin or carrier out of a gun for any reason other than maint or cleaning.

We better not get betrayed by the NRA and all the other organizations. They better get up early tomorrow morning and start taking action. Jesus, we are the people. We are the ones that decide and elect our “goverment officials” so that they do what we want, not what they want. Folks
As of now, no federal “assault weapons” reauthorization or expansion bill has been introduced during this Congress. It remains to be seen when a new bill will be introduced. No doubt a bill will be introduced, but anti-gunners haven’t done so yet. Pls don’t call on HR 1022 as it is not a pending bill in this Congress.
The “Obama gun ban list” Korwin refers to comes from a bill, HR 1022, that was introduced during the last Congress back in early 2007. It is not a live or pending piece of legislation in this Congress and cannot be acted upon unless or until it is reintroduced. The list Korwin apparently just discovered is over 2 years old. McCarthy Bill Bans Millions More Guns Than The Infamous Clinton Gun Ban
On Feb. 14, 2007, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.) introduced H.R. 1022, a bill with the stated purpose, “to reauthorize the assault weapons ban, and for other purposes.” McCarthy`s choice of words warrants explanation.
Obviously, what she means by “assault weapons ban” is the now-discredited Clinton Gun Ban of 1994. Congress allowed the ban to expire in 2004 for multiple reasons, including the fact that studies by the Congressional Research Service, congressionally-mandated studies, and studies by state and local law enforcement agencies showed that guns affected by the ban had been used in only a small percentage of crime, before and after the ban was imposed.
Reauthorizing the Clinton ban would be bad enough. The guns that it temporarily banned–very widely used for target shooting, hunting and home protection–are still used in only a small percentage of crime. But McCarthy`s “other purposes” would make matters even worse. H.R. 1022 would ban every gun banned by the Clinton ban, plus millions more guns, including:
Every gun made to comply with the Clinton ban. (The Clinton ban dictated the kinds of grips, stocks and attachments new guns could have. Manufacturers modified new guns to the Clinton requirements. H.R. 1022 would ban the modified guns too.
Guns exempted by the Clinton ban. (Ruger Mini-14s and -30s, and Ranch Rifles; .30 cal. carbines; and fixed-magazine, semi-automatic, center-fire rifles that hold more than 10 rounds.)
All semi-automatic shotguns. (E.g., Remington, Winchester, Beretta and Benelli, used for hunting, sport shooting and self-defense. H.R. 1022 would ban them because they have “any characteristic that can function as a grip,” and would also ban their main component, called the “receiver.”)
All detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifles-including, for example, the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 .22 rimfire-because they have “any characteristic that can function as a grip.
Target shooting rifles. (E.g., the three centerfire rifles most popular for marksmanship competitions: the Colt AR-15, the Springfield M1A and the M1 “Garand.”)
Any semi-automatic shotgun or rifle an Attorney General one day claims isn`t “sporting,” even though the constitutions of the U.S. and 44 states, and the laws of all 50 states, recognize the right to use guns for defense.
65 named guns (the Clinton law banned 19 by name); semi-auto fixed-magazine pistols of over 10 rounds capacity; and frames, receivers and parts used to repair or refurbish guns.
H.R. 1022 would also ban the importation of magazines exempted by the Clinton ban, ban the sale of a legally-owned “assault weapon” with a magazine of over 10 rounds capacity, and begin backdoor registration of guns, by requiring private sales of banned guns, frames, receivers and parts to be conducted through licensed dealers. Finally, whereas the Clinton Gun Ban was imposed for a 10-year trial period, H.R. 1022 would be a permanent ban.

You guys just dont get it,,,,,, there is and has been no constitution since 1933 it was indefinetely suspended with 12 usc 95-b by roosevelt we were placed as a country in a state of emergency and put under martime law look it up for yourself google emergency war powers act which is what it is called. by the way 3 years ago I got 1.7 million hits on this, a month ago 0 the imfo on the net concerning this is being wiped out and made unavailable.
last week I found imfo about the state of texas wanting to get at the truth about this in 1995 and couldnt find what the outcome was and there main concern was the suspension of the constitution.
We should be discussind this and nothing else in order to realize it is the root of all the evil that is presently taking place, make no mistake about it.
I have made people aware of this from every walk of life you could possibly imagine and I get nothing from them but a blank stare and denial un-responded to emails and letters and phone calls, my family thinks I am nuts and have all but disowned me.

I hate to burst your bubble, but did ANY of you read the D.C. vs. Heller case? The supreme court ruled 5-4 that the 2nd Amd, is an INDIVDUAL RIGHT to protect yourself,INCLUDING
the right to own “assault” rifles they even go as far as spelling out that owning an M16 is the
same as the muzzle loaders from the time of the framers,weapons will change and what is now called an assault rifle in 20 years may be replaced with something else that will cause the M16 to be considered an antique.Stop all of the fearmongering and educate yourself.

I was hoping to get an AK before they banned them, but I suppose it’s just as well that I get it black market. Legally, I couldn’t get a full auto and the government would know I had it, where as illegally, I can get a better model, full auto, and the only thing I’d really have to worry about is getting busted while actually buying it, after that I’m golden because if anyone figured out I had it they’d get the same response trying to grab it as they would from a “legal” weapon.

Very good point. Consider this, a person swears an oath to preserve protect and uphold the Constitution and then tries to legislate against it. First off you can’t legislate against the constitution, it must be amended. Second, the party mentioned is committing TREASON!!!

In Switzerland the government issues you an assault rifle and trains you how to use it. There is almost no gun crime.
In Mexico you can get life in prison for a single round of ‘military’ ammo – not even the rifle, just the ammo. So only criminals have weapons in Mexico and the results are there for all the world to see.
In the US, almost all gun crime is committed with stolen handguns.
So why does the government keep trying to take the long arms that US citizens need to defend their homes?

Switzerland and Mexico also are two countries that are on the opposite sides of the wealth gap.
Swiss history is also not rife with conquest and reconquest, revolution and so forth. So, there are probably more reasons than Gun Ownership as to why the Swiss have lower rates of crime.
Also, by your logic, if nearly all gun crime is committed with stolen handguns(and it isn’t), then reducing the number of handguns to steal would lower the gun crime rate.

Why do they want to take our weapons because they are scared that when the new civil war brakes out this one is not between brother vs brother but people vs government, and you never know it may some day happen, and when and if it does not to worry to much when the boys in blue see our numbers some may come to us and iam sure that some military will also come to us. dooomCroaker is exactly right. Each group operates within itself, with limited info about the others. You can still comunicate but not interfere in the operation. The only info shared should be code word for action, rally point. If one part fails, the rest still function. We must not beat the enemy, we must prevent him from ever rising to power again. I swore an oath to protect the Constitution which also includes the Bill of Rights and to protect the American People. I will not support anyone who makes any attempt to change, allter or, destroy either. This a blantent attempt to Passify and control the American People so that the Government doesn’t have to worry about being threatened by the American People removing them from office. It also has a strong conection to the rest of the world who have wanted the American Liberals to remove weapons from the possesion of it’s citizens for decades. If they, the current Government Body, attempt to take the weapons from we, The American People, there is going to be hell to pay. One of two things will happen if we allow this plan to succeed-One, They will come and take by force all the weapons that we own, those of use who resist will become instant criminals and will either be imprisoned or killed outright. The rest who comply will be Passified and compliant to a Government that can and will over time Impose it’s will and goals for any purpose that it desires. We will be truely nothing more than subserviant to the 5% who will call themselves Kings sometime in the near future. Two- The American People will revolt and a second Civil War may ensue, this within itself could have a catostropic impact- One being that it would be an oppurtunity of a lifetime for those Nations of the world who have long prayed for the demise of the United States, Two- It may leave the door wide open for some NutCase to proclaim him or herself the self appointed leader of the United States. Either way, we must guard our Rights Jealously. Remember this old American saying-” What must we fear more, One Tyrant 3,000 miles away or, 3,000 Tyrants one mile away?
