    P.O.T.U.S
    Thursday, July 3, 2008

It’s time to get mad and put the Austin Police Department in their place.

They are now planning to pull you over, and if they suspect you’ve been drinking, the police will stick a needle in your arm, and take your blood without a warrant. You cannot refuse, and they will do this by force. If you resist, you will be tasered and held down against your will while they remove a “sample”.

“My intent in the future is to make it so there is no such thing as a refusal. You can refuse all you want, but we are going to aggressively seek search warrants,” said Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo, in an interview with KXAN, a local city television station. (See the original article & video report here: http://www.kxan.com/global/story.asp?s=8581029&rnd=552.5117347010923 )

That’s right– the so-called “peace officer”, in charge of serving the public trust and upholding the law and Constitution is going to be pinning you to the ground with his knee, dutifully, while driving a needle into you.

    (Article continues below)

This “No Refusal” DWI policy has already been implemented and field tested in San Antonio (see video below).
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=2PZ9qDLLv70

PLEASE TAKE five minutes out of your life to voice your disapproval of this coming policy to these Police authorities and our elected city officials. If you’ve never voiced a complaint before about anything, trust me, it is LEGAL, you will not get in any trouble. In fact, it’s rewarding– You will feel better about yourself.

Tell these people what you think, let them know that instead of spending resources and manpower on violating human rights, the police department should get around to more important issues– for example, making sure the Governor’s mansion is not set on fire and nearly burned to the ground.

Contact any and/or all of the following:

Austin Police Chief Acevado’s Office: 512-974-5030

AUstin Police Community Liason Office: 512-974-4700

E-mail the Austin Police Department: apd3@ci.austin.tx.us

    Contact the Austin City Council:
    http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/council/contacts.htm

This policy, which violates basic human rights and the Constitution, is being handed down from the Federal government, not the State of Texas. And it’s just the beginning. Today it’s your blood, tomorrow the rest of your dignity follows, and finally, you realize you basically have the rights of a slave. Which are listed below.

Think about it: The NAZI’s were not even near this level of police invasion. All they asked for were your “papers”. These newly trained police officers, the majority of which will be combat-hardened Iraq war veterans, are going to be demanding your blood.

    1. brad Says:

how nice the author of this Prison Planet article to leave out part of the original article which states: you will be stuck with a needle IF YOU REFUSE A BREATHALYZER. In many states if you refuse the breath test you are immediately arrested. What is the problem here?

    2. Benja S. Sariwatta Says:

Brad: So you are arrested for what? Since there is no proof of dwi, what are the charges? The government has no right to be sticking things into your mouth or body.

    3. Ken Says:

this is a response to Brad’s comment.
the only problem is that a blood test taken by force is an illgal search. The correct thing to do is arrest them and take them off the street. If they did that there would be no problem!

    4. john Says:

the problem is that in states where you refuse a breath test the most that the police can do is arrest you and suspend your license. they are not allowed to physically violate you and take blood. this is outrageous. if texans don’t write in and call about this than you get the government you deserve. stop the police state now or you will not have a chance later.

    5. BeTrueSeekTruth Says:

What is the problem?? I feel sad for those who cannot discern the difference between being arrested and having your body violated.
As far as I am aware of, injections aren’t part of the arrest process, whether the arrest is warranted or not. At that point its for the court to decide.

    6. Dan Says:

Well it looks like I will be being tazed. I will never voluntarily submit to having my blood extracted by the police!

I am stunned that more people arent outraged at this idea.

    7. Clayton Says:

I heard the sheriff for Williamson County say on KLBJ 590 this morning that, “if you don’t want your blood drawn go around his county.”

All I can say is I know alot of people (including me) that will not put up with this and it could get alot of people hurt, not starting anything but protecting our God given rights.

    8. Kevin Says:

This is messed up on so many levels! This kind of crap should be getting national media coverage but it clearly isn’t, just like many other situations where our civil rights are being taken away from us!

If I lived in Austin, I would be OUTRAGED! Drawing blood for refusing to submint to a breathalyzer? You’ve gotta’ be kiddin’ me!!!!

    9. Ryan Says:

You have the right to not incriminate yourself brad thats whats wrong with it.
This could backfired and get alot of officers hurt, needles are hellish for some people and faced with the proposition of a forced blood sample some armed to the teeth texans may fight back.

    10. asdf Says:

The ‘problem’ is that this is an outrageous violation of our God-given rights. You are okay with a forced blood test? Have you lost your mind?

I’ll tell you what, they try anything like this with me, they will be surprised.

“Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God”
      -Thomas Jefferson

    11. Tyler Says:

From my cold dead hand….From my cold dead hand will you take my gun, will you take my freedoms, will you take my DNA. It is time for peaceful resistance and non-compliance. Refuse to take the REAL ID, refuse to protest in ‘free speech zones’ refuse to have you blood taken, there are millions of us, it is time we unite for liberty.

    12. me Says:

i wonder how many years in jail you would get for sticking a pig with a needle and drawing blood. i bet nearer to 20.

    13. ItsMike Says:

Thomas Jefferson was wrong. Resistance to tyrants is most definitely not obedience to God. Jesus Christ told his followers to put their hope for a better future in him, not in anything of this world. And in case you didn’t realize, that includes even the mighty Bill of Rights and United States Constitution. If you put your faith in these things, or even in your own ability to fight against the tyrants, you are going to let yourself down and so will the Constitution. The “flesh” is nothing but evil, so no matter how good you think your cause is, what you’re doing is just more evil. Jesus told his followers not to resist evil. Instead, he told them to speak the Gospel and wait for the day when he returns. NOWHERE in the Bible did God tell Christians to take up arms and fight tyranny. What he did say was the Christians should let “the people of the world” fight over the world. He told Christians to seek the Kingdom of God instead. Thomas Jefferson was a great man, but even great men can be wrong sometimes. This quote of his is directly opposite of what Jesus taught. So who’s words are YOU going to follow?

    14. f8te Says:

What a great excuse not to do anything and get yer head kicked in at the same time. Freedom is slavery, war is peace, doing nothing is godliness. Boy, you “kristians” really got shit figured out. Just lay down while the tank rolls over you cause hey, the flesh is “evil”. This world is evil. Just read a fucking bible and hope that everything is ok after. Unfuckingbelievable!!

    15. me2 Says:

ItsMike – Very interesting comment that I feel I need to put to rigorous thought experimentation…
To not resist evil… implies to not defend one’s self. To trust in Jesus and his teachings to defend you instead. IIRC Jesus said if you are oppressed, just leave…
I am tempted to leave the USA for this reason. But where can one go where there is not evil? They’ve already crossed the line, so we have 2 choices: leave or fight. 3) Or stay and take it.

ItsMike – I want to give a lot more thought to your advice, but could you help me along in these little thought experiments?

The other day I killed a roach that was invading my house. I know though shalt not kill, and I live by it, but I take exception in this case because it is a creature invading my home and threatening the health of me and my family.

I’ve been through some thought experiments. I am leaning towards the opinion that you are wrong.

    16. Dan Says:

ItsMike is an ingnorant fool. As an atheist i hold no other laws above our US Constitution. Does that make me a better American than some idiot who holds his religious superstitions above our US Constitution? I would say so. Furthemore, as an Atheist, I do not worship any dictator because all dictators are evil no matter if your dictator is a god or person. Religious peope worship a Dictator and hate our US Constitution, not to mention Christians are cannibals who pretend to drink the blood and eat the flesh of an idiot.

    17. Dan Says:

Me2 said” The other day I killed a roach that was invading my house. I know though shalt not kill, and I live by it, but I take exception in this case because it is a creature invading my home and threatening the health of me and my family.”

I hope you feel the same about Iraqis who fight and kill the foreign invaders of their lands. The only good invader of anothers lands is a dead invader, no matter if the invader is Russian, American, German or Israeli. God Bless the patriotic Iraqis who kill the foreign invader. To hell with dead US troops, may they rot in hell as the war criminals they are.

    18. Zarathustra the Godless Says:

      NO2ID!

    19. me2 Says:

Dan: Don’t be too quick to dismiss the possibility of a supreme being watching over us. I would say you misspoke when you said you are an atheist, and that you really are agnostic. This is understandable. I don’t think blind 100% faith and trust in ANYTHING is a virtue.

BUT, I do respect Jesus’ teachings in that they appear to be deliberately targeting the Talmudic form of tyranny we’ve been now living under for the last 3000 years. No wonder why they killed him and tried to corrupt him and his teachings for the last 2000 years!

And on that line, its the Catholic Church you are thinking of, which was created to corrupt the teachings of Jesus (look at how many things they DO that is directly contradictory to Jesus and what’s in their own Bible!), they are the ones who started the “eat the flesh and blood of Christ” thing… the implications are pure evil but no one thinks about the implications, they unthinkingly conform to rituals. Real Christians are not like that – I have respect for them. You should too.

    20. daveco1270 Says:

When did the police become medical professionals? Are they being trained on how to take blood? This is creepy. What if they miss the vein or give you some sort of infection? (How do we know it’s even a clean needle?) I see some major lawsuits in the Austin PD’s future. Arresting someone is one thing, having some random cop jabbing your vein with a needle is another. I’d rather be arrested to be honest.

    21. Matt Says:

As far as I’m concerned, these and similar tactics are a declaration of war against all citizens of the United States. There was an article here yesterday about a group or website that was planning on staging violent protests at the DNC or something along those lines, and there were comments discouraging this or saying these people are possibly either patsies or working for the government… possibly. But I value my life as well as my freedom, both are directly linked, and no one is taking either without a fight. I’m not prepared to die, so if I feel like I’m in a situation where I’m facing death in order to protect my freedom, you can bet there will be violence. Peaceful resistance is an admirable doctrine, but in light of who and what we’re faced with, it just seems inadequate. If someone shoots a cop because the cop is threatening their liberty AND their life, they may end up dead or in jail, but that cop won’t be threatening anyone else again. It really is as simple as that. That is the decision we seem to be faced with.

    22. j Says:

Matt, FINALLY someone who thinks clearly. That is EXACTLY what it boils down to.

    23. P.O.T.U.S Says:

If you check the Prison Planet Forum, you’ll find that someone associated with the Austin Police Department has responded to this article:

    24. Lauren Says:

I am a medical technologist and do drug testing on a daily basis. I have never trusted the breathalyzer. It is never consistant. If I were ever pulled over, I would DEMAND to have a blood alcohol test.

    25. P.O.T.U.S Says:

Lauren, you don’t have to give them ANYTHING. That is the point we are trying to make. Check out the forum link below.

They can take you to jail, but they CANNOT force you to convict YOURSELF with either a breath or blood test.

    26. Lisa Says:

Absolute insanity! I won’t be going to Austin for recreational activities any longer. No more of my money will be spent there, and I will repost this info world wide to warn others NOT TO SPEND MONEY IN AUSTIN TEXAS! This must be stopped!!!
Being tasered is bad enough, now the POLICE can poke folks with needles as often as they see fit? I am leaving this whole state..good riddance to dirty bastards!

    27. Lone Wolf - Full Moon Says:

      They drew FIRST BLOOD !!!

      NUFF SAID

    28. Lone Wolf - Full Moon Says:

“You are either with the Tyrants or against them.”
G.W. Bush (okay, I changed ‘terrorist’ to ‘tyrants’ – same thing)

“The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
      Edmund Burke.

Don’t take this crap lying down.
      Me.

    29. Wizard Says:

Seriously, i live in Australia so i may have a lack of understanding. How do the police get away with this?

    30. ItsMike Says:

It’s really very simple. Jesus told his followers that he doesn’t want them living for this present world. He called this world “a dark and dying place”. He said that it is one day going to pass away, but that the Kingdom of God is eternal. THAT’S the world he wants us to live for. God will punish all the tyrants on judgment day, and put an end to all evil when he creates the new Heaven and new Earth. So instead of trying to do God’s job for him you should be asking yourself whether your own actions are going to being praised or punished on that day. Fighting against evil is not the same thing as doing good. You can only be doing good when you are doing the will of God. And nowhere will you find a passage in the Bible telling Christians that God wants them to take up arms and oppose tyrants. Fighting against evil is just more fighting. Tell me, do you think the Devil cares whether we fight in the name of good, or fight in the name of evil? I doubt it. I’m sure he’s happy just to know we’re all fighting each other. Trust Jesus when he says that he is the only one who can take you out of this mess.

    31. ItsMike Says:

There’s one other thing I forgot to mention. I’m pretty sure there isn’t anything in the Bible which says that Jesus is going to protect you from tyrants and killers during this lifetime. Just about everything he said was directing us to look forward, to the time of the new Heaven and new Earth. That’s where our hearts should lie, not with this present world. So in response to the two of you who mistakenly thought I said the Bible would protect you; my answer is that it will not protect you in the “here and now”. Jesus gives his children eternal life, so your soul will never be in jeopardy no matter what happens to your body. But Christians have been peacefully going to their deaths ever since the days of the Romans. You see, it all depends on what you love the most. If you love this world then you will fight and kill and destroy anybody who threatens it. But if you love God, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and all that they promise for the future, then you’ll do what they command, even if it means letting someone roll over you with a tank.

    32. Dave Says:

I sent a letter to the Chief this morning and she should too. Just drop everything and sent a quick note. Texans you must rise up against this latest test to see how much crap you will take… just like the gun confiscation in New orleans following Katrina. Don’t let this slide!

    33. John Says:

This is just not right! What’s next? Send a note to the Chief. Let him know we will not put are heads in the sand and let them roll over us!
