Sarah Palin, the surprise vice presidential pick by Republican candidate John McCain, has said the war in Iraq was ‘a task from God’.
Like US President George W. Bush, Governor Palin attempted to justify her policies by claiming they were divinely-ordered during a speech at the Wasilla Assembly of God church in June.
“Pray for our military. Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right for this country – that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God,” the Alaska governor said in her address posted on the website of the Wasilla Assembly of God.

Earlier in 2005, President Bush claimed he was on a mission from God when he started the war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“I am driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, ‘George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan’. And I did. And then God would tell me ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq’. And I did.” The US president told a Palestinian delegation in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Palin, prior to her ‘there is a plan and that it is God’s plan’ comment on the Iraq war, asked the audience to pray for a $30 billion national gas pipeline project because it was ‘God’s will to get that gas line built’ as well.
Earlier in March 2007, Palin had said, “I’ve been so focused on state government, I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq.”
The report comes as one of the first on Palin’s positions on foreign policy issues, as the Republican camp has not yet allowed her to hold a press conference.

I don’t think the 1.25 million dead Iraqis would be satisfied with her statement. Not that I could speak for them, much less the fantastical divine being she claims to have chats with. Maybe its sensational stupidity which wins over the American people? It seems to be working for AJ in garnering support from the mentally deficient masses.

Prophet, from Greek prophētēs, from pro for + phanai to speak, thus literally ‘to speak for God’. If someone is clearly lying when he claims that God told him ‘George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan’ and ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq’, this person is falsely claiming to speak for God (give voice to God’s will) and is thus, by definition, a false prophet.
He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon (Rev 13:11) may be understood that it pretends to be a Christian (like a lamb) but speaks like Satan (like a dragon) i.e. liar, murderer, criminal. One recognizes the tree by its fruit.
At least Palin fits the vice presidential role very well as she can lie, deceive and pull the wool over the eyes of the sheeple like a true republican criminal.

I think this story is weak because she is speaking to a church and just talking their language, I see it as sort of respect for there religion.
I do not back McCain, nor do I back Obama, they are just different sides of the same coin.
With that said, obviously we all know there is a lot of corruption in the roman catholic church, duuuuuh…
My vote is going to be for someone I believe in, like Nadar or Mckinny. I’d rather lose with a ticket I believe in than win with a ticket that I don’t believe in, abolish the “throw-away your vote” paradigm. Let’s bring justice home!

OK…Jesus of the Bible who was the Truth never killed anyone nor condemned his enemies. He Loved them! He said if we have anger in our hearts we are murderers…so to be in a war- do you have forgiveness for your “enemies” or love for them?
He willingly died for his enemies. He refused to take up the sword against them.

Jesus healed people. He did not murder them.
A Christian is forbidden to do that. Yes, governments ordained of God will wage war, but we are not to be the ones instigating it.

Can you imagine her as Madam President??? Can you feel it! America has some very serious problems on her hands. Being president of the most powerful nation on earth is not let’s pretend but 24/7 VERY serious business. It’s not for apprentices, the luxury of learning on the job can’t exist in a nation spilling with competence.
It is not just the insult but the mockery. It is not some democratic showing but the very absence of it. It enlivens McCain’s lack of democratic maturity and political childishness (or would you think rascality?) towards his nation, colleagues and peers, disabling that ticket. More importantly, it belittles America and is politically unbecoming.

How many people have claimed to be “on a mission for God”, “doing God’s work” or have been “told by God” to do something. It is the oldest excuse in the book for all manner of crimes, usually again humanity. Even Moses did it according to the Book of Exodus when he ordered Levi to kill three thousand of his fellow people (Exodus 32:27).
