US military has started building new facilities in Afghanistan for 20,000 extra troops that will pour into the country early next year.
“There’s a very huge building campaign that has already begun. We’re pushing dirt as we speak for the arrival of these forces,” Maj. Gen. Michael Tucker, deputy commander for operations for US forces in Afghanistan said on Friday.
Tucker told the reporters that the plan was to house the 20,000 extra troops, who would be joining the 32,000 American forces already there. The top commander refused to say where the new facility would be, he only provided few details.
“We have done in depth studies on specifically to the man how many building spaces, how many helicopter pads…how many latrines, how many dining facilities…down to the actual number of boots on the ground.”

The planned injection of extra US forces is a policy that Barack Obama has said he will also pursue when he takes office.
US defense officials have asked for four more combat brigades, along with thousands of other support forces, including intelligence and surveillance personnel.
One of the brigades is expected to arrive in Afghanistan in January.

Let me get this right. 32,000 trained US fighters with AIR support cant take out taliban and al Cida? They are expecting 20k say per state to rule for the elite? Even 500,000,000 world population is too much for any miltary that is 100 million strong. They must running in circles fighting over there. Like the Generals are selling out the troops. I bet if the Chinese were after an enemy it would have last no more than 6 mos. If they wanted to invade us over night in California by dust they would already have Washington.

They are needed to protect the pipe line from central Asia through Afghanistan and Pakistan. They don’t tell you why the Americans and Europeans are in Afghanistan ? Oil of course and there is a lot of oil in central Asia but unfortunately they cannot carry it with camels and we very hungry for oil too.
So do you know now who is behide the India fiasco. That was a preliminary orchestration for a war with Pakistan because Pakistan does not behave / cooperate too good. They only difference now is that this war will have an extra participant India, welcome to the club the new member.

Hey Brandon and the rest of you geniuses,
My guess is you all were part of the crowd that said the surge in Iraq would fail and that the war was lost. Stop hating on your country. It’s Obama’s war on terror now and he’s going to do whatever it takes to win it.

No way the us can win a war out in Afghanistan. Those guys lived there their whole lives plus they hide out in caves in the mountains. The russians couldn’t do it & the us couldnt do it under bush. I don’t care if obama sends 90,000 troops on the ground there its a no win situation that will just cost money like going out to iraq. Besides the us should be concerned about russia not pakistan or afghanistan. Russia is who supply’s these clownz.

The Surge. Almost sounds funny. So trow some bombs here and there. Kick the doors in at a scared family which now only exist out of a mother and her son. Daddy was killed at the last bombing although they never did anything wrong. Son is ready now to be manipulated by the Taliban to become one of thousands of new “terrorists” and the game continues.
Don’t know about mr puppet Obama. I do know that the last wars have made enough angry people which happen to be Muslim and not fear death. As for them live begins after death. And so its more like a blessing in disguise. You see many soldiers of the so called free world are killing in the name of democracy and at the same time have themselves become terrorists.
Yeah prepare for The Surge. Prepare to humiliate, torture and kill people in another country in the name of freedom. I am convinced that after we smeared enough blood and killed their fathers, mothers, sons and daughters they get the message that we are here to help them and to rebuild their Islamic religion into our beautiful democracy.
Good luck in the surge. It is not like Obama himself is going to fight the CIA founded Al Queada. To scared. We can send American and European soldiers to die there. Most countries already know that American government is behaving like fascist Nazi’s, but are either to scared to reject or actually are the same. Even if they would want to get out, they can’t because then America attack them too.
Maybe the religious people on this website like to add something here. Should God just kill every human on earth and start over? His first attempt “to create humans” failed gracefully.

The name of the game is drugs. The US/CIA want the drugs and money it brings in for control and more power.

Isn´t this a complete admission of FAILURE. Think about it, 20,000 more on top of 32,000? What´s the % there, 64% increase? Are you people not enraged at this outrage? Why are we even there? Heroin, Opium, sludge…poppy seeds, CIA “operational profit” wars, Expansionism, Imperialism, Forward Bases, encirclement of Russia, China…war profits, Cabalistic Agenda, Rockefellar Wahnsinn, European war training camps, Economic support systems, Humanitarian Aid, Infrastructure re-building? Educational programs, Missionary expansion-Conversion to Christianity, Oil pipline security, gas drilling? How about all of the above…and by the way, the Europeans have another 45,000 soldiers on top of that soon to be 52,000 American bring the total now to apprx. 100,000 military personnel. That does not include Mercenaries…Oh excuse me…Contractors …and I estimate that is in the 50,000 range conservatively. Anyone know the casulty rate thus far? Officially? The VA reported last year that the casulty rate of Killed in Action in Iraq since 1990, was at 75,000 soldiers
which means that apprx 73,000 or so have fallen in Iraq since 2003. So to extrapolate that to Afghanistan, we must assume that with appx 35% of the troop levels we would arrive at one third of 75,000 plus 40% since the war has lasted two years longer bringing us to conservatively 25,000 casulties( US and European )from Afghanistan alone in seven years or 3,200 year. Anyone care to call the VA for a confirmation and not engage in cynicism? I believe we have all been massively lied to regarding the death stats. So the new grand total from the machine is now apprx…100,000 soldiers in 5 years of Iraq and 7years of Afghanistan. People, even if this calculation is say 30% over the actual number then 70,000 alone represents a vast percentage of those who served of the 1.5 million and that does not include the wounded, or traumatized veterans. Add a 4 to 1 ratio or say 280,000 injured or truamatized to this figure. That´s a net total of 340,000 killed and injured in two Bush wars. Does anyone care to challenge this? I INVITE the brightest among you, bring it on!!
