Two policemen who were attacked by a 30-strong mob were today recovering from their injuries – with one receiving hospital treatment for a bite wound.
The feral attack was launched after the officers asked a teenager to pick up some litter she had dropped.
One of the policemen required hospital treatment after the attack in Northend, Croydon, South London on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said that when patrolling officers asked the girl to pick up a piece of litter she did so – but then immediately dropped it.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
When they asked her to pick it up again, a friend with the girl reacted aggressively.
A group of up to 30 teenagers and adults gathered around the officers and attacked them. One officer was bitten.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the officers, aged 34 and 29, were now on sick leave suffering from bruising and knee injuries.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. She has been released on police bail.
Two men aged 34 and 38, both from nearby South Norwood, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault and violent disorder.
Shopkeepers in the area told today of their horror at the level of violence used against the officers.
T-Mobile phone store manager Shil Mehta said that just before turning on the police the two girls had been fighting each other.
‘The attack happened right outside our shop,’ he said. ‘I saw two girls fighting. The officers tried to stop the girls, who were about 15 years old and both were wearing school uniforms, but then they turned on the police.
‘When one of the policemen tried to restrain one of the girls a crowd started to develop around them. I think he was trying to put handcuffs on the girl.
‘There were about 30 people in the crowd at this stage, of all ages. A couple of men aged in their 30s were screaming at the police to let go of the girls.
‘I don’t think they knew the girls, but just saw the police wrestling with them and had a go at the police because they thought they were being heavy-handed.
‘Then one of these men lunged at the officer holding the girl, from behind. I think he tried to punch him in the head – he definitely took a swing. Then the girl tried to run away.
‘At that point the other policeman got his baton out and pepper spray. They managed to get hold of the girl again but by this stage the crowd was huge. I would say about 70 or 80 people were now in the street watching.
‘One of the policemen pinned the girl on the ground because she was maniacally trying to fight him.
‘That’s when the police back-up arrived. There were three or four riot vans, three police cars and two unmarked cars.’
Mr Mehta added: ‘Using batons and pepper spray they managed to disperse the crowd but I have never seen anything like it.

Why doesn’t the British government just exterminate all of its citizens then they won’t have to worry about security issues or public violence?

This is one of the only stories in many, many years that has given me a literal ear-to-ear grin
July 18th, 2008 at 11:48 am
They spray anyone, a sixteen year old boy was sprayed in the face by accident although he was innocent due to a disturbance nearby, which caused a riot one of the locals gave one of the coppers five seconds to get off the boy, then kicked him in the chest[halfway through town], he is due in court with two others!
BUT ARE THEY COPPERS OR KILLERS OF FREEDOM? i WONDER!!!
July 18th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
I would not like to be in the shoes of any cop that lays a hand on one of my kids………

Aaaahhh, glory. The people fighting back the tyranny. WE ARE ON THE RISE!
Get fit. Learn to fight and at least defend yourself.
They want to walk like big tyrannical soldiers in the sun? Let’s be Ninja. That’s one thing they don’t expect. Just like they didn’t expect that crowd to ‘not comply.’
I love hearing stories like this. The human spirit is GORgeous!

Now, I’m no fan of the police. But from what I’ve read this just seems to be a misunderstanding. The girl was being belligerent and the cops tried to calm her down, pedestrians thought the cops were being heavy-handed and attacked them. I’m not sure it was necessary to try and put handcuffs on a 15 year old girl. Things could have been handled better by all parties involved. Some cops might be corrupt, but they still catch murderers, rapists, child molesters, thieves, and other criminals. So they deserve a little respect.
July 18th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The oinksters had it coming there way! Too bad they didn’t get their ribs kicked in but good! I am so happy this happened, it proves to me that perhaps the folks over in the UK are not total sheep. A few more butt kickings are in order, both over there and on this side of the pond as well.

LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!!!!!!!
July 18th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
Pete from Missouri and all the others, you really have no idea whats going on over here, this is not about heavt handed police tactics, it’s about chavs showing zero respect for anyone other than themselves, we see it all the time and littering with no regard for the environment or others is just the tip of the iceberg. When you get abuse shouted at you or attacked just for looking at someone then you’ll know what I mean. Kids are out of control in the cities and towns and no one is willing to do anything about it, partly because the parents don’t give a sh*t either and were just the same when they were younger (many still are). We REALLY need these mindless thugs to receive a good kicking so they know what it’s like, plus some forced re-education in manners and respect.
July 18th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
The revolution will always depend on the young, for they have the least to lose, and the most to gain. Anarchy will proceed revolution- and indeed much of this energy will be mindlessly criminal, but through no real fault of those involved, since these young people are merely responding to the far greater criminal failures of those that came before, and completely failed in their duty of stewardship.
You’ll see a lot of braindead posts from the UK blaming the kids. These older people NEVER want to take any responsibility whatsoever for the nightmare world they have allowed Thatcher and Blair to build, election by election. Blaming kids for the failure of adults is the single most despicable moral crime.
These braindead idiots cheered from the roof-tops when Blair and Thatcher created a climate of record house price inflation. That their kids would pay terribly for their despicable greed was the last thing on their tiny minds.
In life, you get back the respect you give. Vile thugs in police uniforms decided to rough up two young girls under the most pathetic of pretences. Once, such american style police brutality was unthinkable here. An ongoing goebbels style campaign in all the main british newspapers and on TV has helped change this. The population of the UK is skewing more elderly at a rapid rate, and old people can easily be convinced to cheer proposals to give a beat-down to the young.

You seem so sure of yourself. Get real. It is going to depend on EVERYONE willing to stand up for their rights! A bunch of Kids is not going to solve the crisis we are now facing.
It will require a coordinated/clannish effort amongst small groups of like minded people.
If we as a people cannot restore the meaning of COMMUNITY and FAMILY within our hearts, then we will be doomed to fail because we are only looking out for ourselves instead of oneanother.
Most young people (I know many) have a hustle mindset. They look after their little clicks, but will piss on anyone else that threatens their game.
If people cannot look beyond themselves. No one will win this fight because we will be too busy snitching, backstabbing and robbing just to get ahead.
You had better believe that the agenda has a bunch of cookies in the jar. And they are just waiting to hand them out to anyone who is willing to sell out their neighbor.
As for the young having nothing to lose. Never forget, many older PATRIOTS have EVERYTHING to lose. I, unlike the ones that supposedly have nothing to lose know what its like to struggle.
The difference is that I got mines the old school way, and not off the sweat of others.
So, my point, dont think that people that have more to lose won’t take a stand.
I have everything to lose, so, for you, or anybody else that threatens my freedom, you better watch your fucking backs.
I will die for my country if need be, and for the freedom of my YOUNG people.

How can anyone actually approve of this disgusting display of human barbarity? Even those ‘awake’ are living in a dreamland…
The cops had it right…
Americans have become very soft, but when these same people start ‘flashmobbing’ YOUR house because your pretty daughter looks tight.
here’s a quote from the telegraph article
http://www.independent.co.uk/n.....71394.html
“The police constable, who was recovering from his bite injuries at home today, said the incident quickly escalated out of control.
He said: “They swarmed at the start. They feel they can overcome you like a gang. It was a good 30-plus youths.
“It is the behaviour. It is unbelievable. I find it amazing that someone could bite another human being like that.
“They were acting like animals, but I hate using the term ‘animals’ because they would not do that. Animals have a reason for doing something. ”
I’m siding with the cops on this one, and don’t think this has to do with ‘revolution’ or anything of the sort…this has to do with WHAT YOU WILL CERTAINLY FACE YOURSELVES once the economy collapses, in fact I don’t think you’ll have to worry about jackboots more than you should worry about when these kinds of people who commit such acts are roving & starving.

You are right. One must consider though the lack of manners being taught these days. Forget morals, that is a word that many cannot even decipher.
who is really to blame? The mob, or the ones that were supposedly responsible for raising them and teaching them about respect and honor?

I think this kind of behavior is the product of the way the british kids and people are treated by their government and their authorities. We all know that abused animals become agressive and dangerous. Unfortunately the same is the case with humans.
It might be true that these cops didn’t deserve to get beaten, but it’s not them who the people were attacking it was the authority figures which already hold the archetype of enemy in the collective psyche of the people of britain.
It is simply what you would expect to happen in a sick society.

It is the human spirit of resistance coming up like a wellspring of life. It’s like spring flowers struggling to break free from the harsh cold soil of winter.
That police state that is Britain will see more and more of these things as time goes on. Y’all should watch that youtube video where the police in Europe attack and surround a soccer fan and beat him with batons…then suddenly the players – from both teams no less – and a huge segment of the audience suddenly descend on the police and start kicking them and wailing on them. It brings a tear to your eye, or else perks up your stomach with a feeling of fluttering butterflies, as a cold chill of excitment carresses up your spine!!!!
Conditions such as that will start to become commonplace in the U.S. one of these days as well. It is my hope that we won’t be too much of decadent, fat, lethargic turds to resist it with the same fervor.
The revolution begins today. Peaceful non-cooperation…non-compliance…refusal to aquiesce…these are the ways forward. Your silence is your consent. Don’t be silent.
July 18th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
To those of you telling people to “rise up” and go “ninja”, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
That is EXACTLY what the establishment wants you to do. All you’ll do is give them a reason to declare martial law and then you’ll be fighting them and their sound canons and microwave guns with your stupid little rifles. Well, let me tell you, you will LOSE.
They want us to make the first move. As was said on Alex’s show a few days ago, the side that takes the first shot always loses.
Maintain your composure and do not riot unless you are attacked first. Otherwise, we will lose this fight.

question,
what is the growing number of households that have heard (if only once!) the words, “oh yeah??!!, well if I can’t stay all at mollys house I’m going to turn you in”, “to the U.N.”. (or slightly “paraphrased”).
Is there no truth at all to the claim that kids are now encouraged, by public learning centers, various agencies, that they have the right to do whatever they wish. That the power of the household has been mandated to “them”?
And too, is “jury nullification” still a Constitutional right?
(from what I understand, the answer is still “of course”. Just don’t broadcast your intent, as the judge may go for a contempt charge).
greg Reply:

Not in this household.
I monitor everything my kids are learning in school.
They may learn these things, but they also learn there are 2 sides to every story.
They and the school knows I am the daddy, and I openly protest if there is something i do not agree with.
take for example Obama talks. My daughter says they have been going crazy talking about him and his role in office.
I called the school and said that it was my opinion that my 8yr old was too young to be involved in politics and requested that if they had any further discussions on this, to please exclude her.
They have complied, but must admit, the school is very good about listenening to parents.
If i lived in the the city, i am not so sure the outcome would be the same. But then, thee would be home schooling.

So who cares about their sound cannons and other space age weapons. We have what really counts…NUMBERS! If the backup police had been met by an even larger group, say 500 people, they would have turned tail and ran and nobody would have been arrested. We are going to need more of this in the future. We the people can win.

Numbers! Wow! Really? What if those numbers were hit with a bio attack? Think not? Then re-read the old history books if you can still find em. We hooked the native americans up with nice warm wool blankets infected with pox!
Weren’t they in high numbers also?
Numbers aint shit if you don’t know how to use em.

All the good cops, are most likely not on the force anymore, and the ones we’re seeing now are new recruits for the NWO. This is the beginning of civil vs. government, the might not have deserved a beaten, but it clearly shows a message, that we are all sick of being oppressed, and we’re not gonna take it anymore!!!

You fools are CLUELESS. I am English and this happened in my home town. All the kids involved were black. Black kids have been terrorising my home town for about a decade since New Labour got in. Make sure you have the facts before you run off at the mouth like idiots. This shopping centre where this incident took place used to be a nice place, now it looks like an African township with all the attendent crime. None of you know what you are talking about. And these people are not Britons, they are Africans and Jamaicans. Wake up.
July 19th, 2008 at 12:45 am
I saw a couple of nice lads being harassed last night by Clapham Common Station. The lads were having a couple of drinks on the street (not illegal in the UK) were of drinking age, and were being cornered and harrassed, searched randomly and had done absolutely nothing wrong. I shouted at the police saying that I didn’t want my tax money going to a police state, and various other things. They called backup and put the guy in handcuffs, for no reason, and he’s like saying, just leave us alone. Apparently these guys get harassed by the police constantly. I didn’t get in any trouble, and the police were shown that they lacked a degree of public support. This is important.
A similar thing happened in my hometown when I was 15. A kid from my class, very popular was about to be arrested for having a bit of dope. Everybody smoked a bit, so, there’s a lot of sympathy for him. About 100 people from my school surrounded the cops and they let him go. The police stood back a bit for then on. One came to our school to ask us to not congregate in town on Friday’s but that just made those who hadn’t gone, curious about the excitement of hanging out in town, so more people went out as a result.

Ummm..Please pay close ATTENTION to what the cops said started their “attack” They said, “They asked the girl to pick up a piece of paper, she did and then dropped it again, they then asked her again and was attacked:. However, the witness said, “that it not only happend right in front of their shop but the two girls has actually been fighting each other and the police were trying to break it up”.
So, when exactly did the police ask the girls to pick up a piece of paper? Did the girls attack the cops on two different occasions, once when trying to break up the fight and another time after being asked to pick up a pice of paper?
If the cops were INNOCENT, then why not just tell the same story as the shop keeper?
It appears to me that the others who jumped in to try and stop the cops must have seen something pretty different than the shop keeper and the police KNOW IT, which is why they made up the paper story to LOOK INNOCENT.
July 19th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Hm, I see concerned comments here and I agree with them being questionable as to what really happened. I see two problems here clashing with actually both of them being in the wrong.
First off, I see a problem with the title/what the police said in the article/then somehow the article changed as to what happened had no relationship to how the article started. Could the author have gotten two news matters mixed up when writing this?
Next, I see a problem that to me seems as though Big Brother’s stronghold on the people had nothing directly to do with this, except it builds tensions and distrust and therefore could have been the factor in the outcome of this, BUT….
If we go by either “eye-witness” reports of being either one girl dropping paper or two girls fighting, I would tend to be on the side of the police in this matter. At 15 girls can be quite obnoxious towards anyone and especially towards authority figures. What makes it worse is that there is little “home care” or parental guidance through the formative years prior to becoming a harmone driven teenager, girls in particular, where they are allowed to run wild. In either case, I will side with the police, BUT….
What could have occurred that would have brought a crowd into the mix? Could it have been a “dainty” teenage girl screaming her “bloody” head off? No one knows me here, but in my profession, even other “professional” women have done that to me. Not so bad, except it is quite amazing how the “victim” gets so much backing even when her “defenders” know who I am and know the reputation I have. It is amazing how the mob mentality takes over almost no matter what. Of course in the end, they are still begging for a job while those who are more sophisticated come to me first offering me work.
If the two girl scenerio was correct, I would tend to think that the crowd already saw what was happening and most likely would have appreciated the police intervening. The single girl scenerio of her purposely defying the police by dropping the paper would be a demonstration that the girl was feeling her young oats and was attempting to create the situation.
No, there is more to this than what we have read here, but continue putting your comments down. WE need this relief valve and maybe someone will say something that will complete this puzzle.

Right? Wrong? Hmmmmm…I doubt either. I think this is the beginning. This will get worse until Britain replaces its Social Engineering with REAL education, returns FULL human rights to its citizens, extends real FULL property rights, and actually trusts its citizens. Fantasy Land…I know
It seems like the people, and esp the young have had enough of being nannied. 12yr olds in toddler car seats, come on! Bin police, citizen informers, CCTV, DNA Database, internet snooping, no inflatable wading pool unless there is a lifeguard!…etc. The young are being treated like babies until 30 (Lazy non-disciplining unengaged parents)…no wonder it’s gotten so bad. Britain has lost it’s logic.
What really went on between the girl and the cops is debatable for sure, but it will get worse as the social friction deepens. This seems to be a lot of built-up steam…seeing as how a “mob” formed to beat the cops over something so trivial. The “us and them gap” is widening.
What is the final conclusion?? A “war” between generations?
I think it will come to a head if a mob caps one of those “bin police”/stasi informers. None of this is good. It is sad and shameful.
February 5th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
is that the full story? i want to hear more about this. The Violence in this case, was the fact that a “30 strong mob” broke out with 2 police officers… and nobody took pictures?, actually i found some pictures, but they don’t look at all convincing that this actually took place, no evidence. Either way, if a mob broke out in front of my house because 2 police officers tried to arrest someone for liter. Firstly the officer shouldn’t try to have an authoritarian point of view, and politely just say “Miss, please, i respect the environment, you should to, can you pick that up and put it in a garbage for us?” especially since a lot of cops treating people badly videos have leaked out, real shit that they are doing to us, ordinary people. It’s part of our human rights not to be treated like shit, it’s a complete outrage that any of this is actually happening, but anyways.. I’m happy the officers survived…get well soon -%@
P.S. If anyone can find me a video or a picture of that incident, or anything for that matter, i would appreciate the help
March 17th, 2009 at 9:12 am
Ok, I have a theory how this came about:
This was in South London correct? That particular area in South London probably has a lot of blacks, I believe the schoolgirls were black & the cops were white, the blacks saw the whites harrassing the black girls & decided to do some beating on whitey.
Now before anyone think I am talking complete nonsense let me ask this, how many of you live in London or South London for that matter? Not many I reckon if any here at all so you do not know what it is like in that area ethnicity-wise just as I don’t know what Texas is like social-wise.
One thing I agree w/ though is that those cops deserved it probably.
March 17th, 2009 at 9:18 am
Ah just looked at this article – http://www.independent.co.uk/n.....71394.html & noticed this quote “All of those involved were black.”
It was in Croydon by the looks of it which is very black.
Yup, racially motivated.
