Police report pregnant woman to social services over half-decorated home

A pregnant woman who invited a policewoman into her half- decorated home ended up being reported to social workers for being a potentially unfit mother.
Mary Cooke, 27, was visited by police after she called 999 to report that she had nearly been run down by a speeding car.
The officer did not mention that she was unhappy about the state of
Days later, Mrs Cooke received a letter from Staffordshire County Council, warning her of a potential ‘referral’ for her unborn child. In addition, the council contacted her midwife.
Last night, Mrs Cooke, a housewife who is 12 weeks’ pregnant with her first child, said: ‘The letter made me feel sick. I believe someone was judging me for decorating the house and I can’t believe it. I’m in the first stages of pregnancy. I’d never dream of bringing a child home to a house being decorated.

Here in the U.S. you are deemed “at risk of” physical abuse/neglect, educational abuse/neglect, etc…..Anyone can be “at risk” of anything, of course, even if its a statistically insignificant risk.
CPS used to prey on mainly the lower class, poor, uneducated, etc…because they usually ignorant of their legal rights, and can’t afford lawyers. (Legal Aid often will not represent in such cases, and when they do, are usually unfamiliar with CPS trials, often advising their clients to just “go along with” whatever CPS wants!) They have been expanding their reach into the middle class recently, because they are increasely unable to afford fighting them in court also.
We’ll be seeing more and more cases like this.

This is madness. Whose sodding business is it what state the paintwork is in? I think there are much more important things to worry about — do the lights work, does the heat work, is the roof tight, and are there no more than 15 mice in the cellar. I’d make a terrible daddy — the kitchen was redone around 1985, the boiler goes back to about 1949, and the bathroom light fixture is original equipment from 1927. And the walls are horsehair plaster. Go ahead. Try it.

You should read the end of the Daily Mail article where it talks about plans by Whitehall to have Health & Safety home inspections in people’s private property.

You don’t fine a poor, toast eating old age pensioner with arthritic fingers 150 pounds for dropping a ten pound note on the street. You don’t fine a struggling family with small children 150 pounds for having their garbage bin lid accidentally open one centimeter. If you are a decent minded civil servant, you serve the people; not the other way around, and thus should close that lid for them with a smile and a nod as you walk by. They don’t do that where I live, and they don’t do that in the U.S. I’m surprised you don’t need a street pass yet to leave your house. You guys need to grow a pair, sooner rather than later. Your need for ‘order’ has superseded your disappearing civility and humanity towards one another.

Gun sales are going thru the roof over here in the states. The gun stores are haveing trailer AMMO sales in there parking lots so they dont have to pay to stock the shelfs. There are thousands of gun stores here. At my favorite store there are always 30/40 people loading guns/ammo/survival gear in there car trunks All day long every day. Why do you think that IS.

It’s the same here in the US, Neutrino. We have over 15% unemployment, including those that haven’t signed up yet and those that have given up. Some have been out of work for years. More and more shops and malls are emply and closing, some of our biggest name brands like May Co and Linens N Things are gone. What is your homeless situation over there?

It’s very bad here, especially in Hollywood CA where I am. As more business downsize and close, people are fired, mortgages and rents can’t be met, more and more are ending up either with friends, relatives or just in their cars. Our so-called “Tent Cities” where people throw up tents to try to live, are being either moved or mowed down by city officials. The homeless shelters are overwhelmed. The NWO is alive and well here in the US. As the Illuminati push their depopulation agenda further along, I fear the horrible disaster that is just waiting to engulf us all. I have a job, but too many BIG BUSNESS bills and not enough income. Most of us are just one paycheck away from the street. How are you doing, V?

This is really one of the most ridiculous situations I have heard in a long time. You are telling me she is seen as an unfit mother just because her home is in the process of being redecorated?? At least this mother has a home to bring her child to. SHe is a fit mother. SHe is not a homeless drug addict. Would they rather she be a homeless drug addict?? How can they treat her this way for something sooooo trivial. Yes. This is a trivial situation. When one looks at the big picture. Look how many children are born to drug addicts, prostitutes….the list goes on. This baby will have a mother who has a nice warm, beautiful home for it to grow up in. What more can one ask in this day and age??? Craziness.
Maybe I am really missing something…but how is being in the middle of redecorating a crime?

They may have a legitimate right to search her home and bring her in under arrest.
What if they smelt cigarette smoke or saw some filthy ashtry sitting around in this sloppy filthy hovel she calls a home.
Cigarette smokers are all filth – their children need to be removed for their own health and safety and these criminal parents arrested – then throw away the key.
Same goes for parents who drink too.
