President Barack Obama authorizes extended Secret Service guard for former VP Dick Cheney

WASHINGTON – Former Vice President Dick Cheney’s Secret Service protection has been extended for at least another six months, beginning Tuesday.
Normally, ex-veeps only get six months of protection at taxpayer expense. But Cheney asked for an extension, and President Obama – whom Cheney has excoriated in several interviews since leaving office – recently signed off.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano signed the order extending Cheney’s security detail, her spokeswoman Sara Kuban confirmed Monday.

If the Obama administration hadn’t gone along with Cheney’s request, he would have been forced to hire his own security agents – or go without.
Cheney’s friends have said he has become more concerned about his privacy and personal safety in recent years.

Why would Cheney need SS protection in Leavenworth? Wouldn’t just the regular prison guards do? And if Cheney is put into solitary, that would also serve as protection against other prisoners who might feel anger towards him for the terrible crimes against humanity he’s done.
Further waste of taxpayer money for the hiring of SS bodyguards is just not needed.

You’re right Steve, Leavenworth would be a good place for Dick the Prick, but he’s gonna have to work for his room and board. I’m not gonna wipe that ghoul’s ass…especially with the environmentally taxed toilet paper they’re feeding us.
It would be better to just put him out of his misery…imagine that…

Wouldn’t surprise me if Obama authorized permanent SS (Secret Service or ShutzStaffel, take your pick) protection for all former Presidents and all former VPs.

They can (and will) extend his goon squad protection as much as they wish; once the revolution starts (and it shall) I would bet big dollars that good ole dick is done for. They have not labelled all of us retired military people as potential domestic terrorists for nothing. Many are now preparing for the coming armed revolution. AND rightly so. Buy weapons, buy ammunition, hide it and prepare.

Cheney personally increased his wealth by millions during 8 years as VP while helping Bush destroy this country. He can well afford whatever security he feels he needs. Why is Obama pandering to him by making an exception to the 6 month precedent set for other past VPs? There is a story here that is not being made “transparent”. Who is going to expose this latest affront to the US taxpayers?

Dick Cheney needs an extention for security gaurds to protect his life? Hmmm wonder why?
1. He started the illegal war in Iraq so Halliburton could have 500 billion in no-bid contracts. This war was the catalyst for the crashed economy, forcing people to pay 5 bucks a gallon for fuel, and costing taxpayers “12 Billion dollars per month” to continue the adventure in Iraq.
2. He flushed the Geneva Convention Treaty down the toilet so he could torture thousands of people, ninty eight percent were innocent and did nothing.
3. He turned the FBI and CIA upsidedown, firering middle management and putting in goon lacky’s who knew nothing about how the agencies were supposed to operate. Then told Tenent to lie about weapons of mass destruction and pushed the honorable Colin Powell onto the UN stage to force him to tell fantacy stories about Anthrax and nerve gas.
3. I’m sure there’s tons of other things he did that are top secret and we only know about 10% of his evil stunts. But most of what the NeoCons did for eight years was orchestrated by Cheney and W Bush just read the cue cards and wore a cowboy hat to look tuff.
