The Queen appeared opposite James Bond at the London Olympics opening ceremony, but the heir to the throne is keeping in touch with the real-life spies.
The Prince of Wales held a private meeting at his London residence this week with the outgoing head of the Security Service, Sir Jonathan Evans. His successor as MI5 chief, Andrew Parker, also attended the meeting at Clarence House.
Prince Charles takes a close interest in the work of the Secret Services. Last year, he became the first royal patron of all three main intelligence agencies. He presented what will become annual awards for espionage excellence, officially known as the Prince of Wales’s Intelligence Community Awards.
