  • Prince ‘must prove anti-GM claim’

    BBC
    Sunday, Aug 17, 2008

Prince Charles must prove his claim that GM crops could cause a global environmental disaster, Environment Minister Phil Woolas has challenged.

In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, the minister said it is now down to the opponents of genetically modified food to prove it is unsafe.

“If it has been a disaster then please provide the evidence,” he said.

    (Article continues below)

On Wednesday Prince Charles said firms developing GM crops risk the biggest environmental disaster “of all time”.

The government’s initial response to the prince’s comments in sister paper the Daily Telegraph was to say that it welcomed all voices in the “important” debate and that safety was a priority.

    ‘Africa strategy’

However, on Sunday Mr Woolas went further, saying it was the government’s “moral responsibility” to investigate whether genetically modified crops could help provide a solution to hunger in the developing world.

“We see this as part of our Africa strategy,” he said.

“It’s easy for those of us with plentiful food supplies to ignore the issue but we have a responsibility to use science to help the less well off where we can.

“I’m grateful to Prince Charles for raising the issue. He raises some very important doubts that are held by many people.

    1. Jen Says:

But of course we know the Prince is just a shill so he will never provide a good case against GM nor will he put his money where his mouth is. Just another whore for the NWO doing their dirty job of controlled opposition.

    2. Simone deMontfort Says:

Why must he prove it? Is it not self-evident that it will be & already is a disaster?

    3. Andy Says:

Go on Alex, invite him on the show! :D

    4. James Says:

Prince charles has no say or power in mainstream politics but people listen to what he has to say. He’s right on with GM food being environmentally unsound. GM food is the cause of the missing bees and is soon to wipe out the pollinated food supply in all countries using GM. Now this can’t be a bad thing I mean he’s getting rid of the great evil GM food right? Well, erm, not really.
If Davis Icke is right when he uses problem, reaction solution analogy of ‘tptb’ creating the problem in the first place (e.g. 9/11) getting a reaction from the public then coming up with the solution then this method can be applied to the GM debacle. Monsanto Knows the dangers, there is mainstream scientific evidence for bees collecting GM pollen developing cancer in the digestive tract. They are waiting for the reaction in the form of food riots, shortages, hikes in prices, more war etc – then que Prince Charles our ‘Winged Savior’ who will save the world. I’ll give you a tip chezza however, we’re onto your plan and it’s getting boring now. Can we now have our free will back please?

    5. James Says:

Getting Prince Charles on the show would be fantastic. There won’t be a shortage of things to talk about.

On the one hand he’s passionate saving the world with organic food and on the other hand his NWO is passionate about destroying it.

    6. Amberback Roach Says:

He does not have to prove anything, any more than Alex has to prove 911 was an inside job… he said the evidence he saw convinced him GM is hazardous, AJ says the evidence convinced him the official 911 story is no good.

911 was an ISJ, and that anyone who says otherwise is either an interested party or a stretcher case retard, instead of posting truth to support their assertions, re GM foods or 911, they attack the messenger.

    7. James Says:

Charlie, here’s your proof: Research into GM crops being a major suspect of declining bees. http://www.globalresearch.ca/i.....p;aid=8436

more here about how GM f**ks up the land and the people: http://www.guardian.co.uk/scie.....16/gm.food

Argentina is the worlds largest exporter of honey. In 2005/2006, Argentina had a bumper crop of over 100,000
metric tons (220,000,000 pounds) of honey. The current crop 2007/2008 is now projected as only 50,000-60,000 metric tons.

Also, Australia and NZ has always banned the growing of GM crops (apart from Rice and canola oil which was introduced last year) and there is currently no shortage of bees there. In the UK, the domesticly grown honey supply is going to run out by winter.

Find me a country that had banned GM crops and I’ll show you a country that is not facing a bee shortage.

    8. Bungalow Bill Says:

James says: Australia has …no shortage of bees.

That is not entirely the case, there are no native bees on the palm flowers near here in suburban Brisbane, there are very few honey bees and the nectar eating birds means one pair of Rainbow Lorikeets where there were hundreds, and they are lice infested or something, cos they are scratching all day!!

    9. ParentsDoNotVaccinateYourChildren Says:

The super imposed Prince Charles over George Bush is uncanny, it’s on utube and makes a pretty good argument for these families being in the same blood line. As far as GM foods, any time man puts his hand to nature, er, creation, it gets all F*#ked up, and that’s a fact jack. The scientist who opposed GM, was promptly fired by the FDA head who had previously been at Monsanto as a promoter of Monsanto products. Bring in a scientist with heart, not a freaking pompous idiot hang around like Charles. He would purposely sound like an idiot to prove the “positive” side about GM foods.

    10. Richard Says:

NWO & UN stalwart Prince Charles is not anti GMO at all. He is playing his part by providing one side of the Hegellian dialectic.
This is obviously a contrived argument which will end in the pro-GMO argumnets being given lots of air time.
‘We need GMO to solve the world’s food shortages’ etc, despite the fact that GMO crop yields are substantially lower than non genetically poisoned foods.

    11. Richard Says:

Here’s a brief outline of the Hegelian Dialectic being played out by the controlled media whore machine:
      see: http://www.guardian.co.uk/comm.....hy.gmcrops
Prince Charles is being called all sorts of names & being compared to Marie Anroinette (Nick Cohen in the Observer, 17th August 2008).
Supposedly, Charles is out of touch for wanting the poor (slaves) to eat expensive organic produce. Presumably the answer to the problems of the poor is to eat GMO.
Cohen writes: “It’s too early to be sure, but can we now at least agree that there is a fair chance that Europe’s panic about GM foods will be seen by historians as an explosion as foolish as the manias about the MMR vaccine and millenium bug?”
So there you have it fellow slaves, vaccines are safe and so is GMO food, please stop being so silly. Move along, there is nothing to see here.
      Cohen’s gobshite continues unabated:
“The Royal Society investigated in 2003 and found GM foods posed no greater threat to human health than other foods. The society has just begun a second inquiry, but no one expects its scientists to alter their conclusions. True, some GM crops may damage the environment, but as the Royal Society points out, others could help it by requiring fewer dosings of pesticides.”

This is precisely the point Alan Watt keeps making about Scientists being the new priests. We are supposed to trust every word issued from their mealy NWO funded mouths.

My favotite quote from the article is: “The only solutions are a global socialist revolution to redistribute wealth (unlikely) or farmers using new technologies to grow more food.”

Bearing in mind that all socialist revolutions have been funded by the elite money changers, I doubt that the redstribution of wealth in Cohen’s utopia will benefit the common man. And GMO technologies do not produce greater yields than their non-GMO counterparts but the controlled media whore machine isn’t likely to let the truth get in the way of a good days propaganda.

    12. Concerned American Says:

Prince Charles is to be commended for speaking out against this potential disaster. In testing, animals and insects fed GMOs got sick or died. Yes, I too believe the decline of bees is linked to GMOs. Only a madman or idiot would allow GMOs. I believe it’s part of the reason so many Americans are sick and have cancer. Our food supply is corrupted and making us ill. God bless you Prince Charles for having the courage to speak out against this madness.

    13. BeTrueSeekTruth Says:

That bad bad prince Charley is trying to keep food from the poor. Oh you bad man you give the poor the poison food for goodness sake don’t you care about them you elitist?
This is how these people operate. Just as Richard so effectively outlines. They infiltrate the enemy with one of their own and have their plant represent the opposing side. This can only happen if there is an infiltrated core in the opposition to block the genuine activists who, if given the same platform as the plant, would easily expose the entire scam. Of course the plan performs very ineptly and puts up absurd cartoonish arguments which are easily shot down.

    14. useful eater Says:

Glad to see he’s moved on to more important issues than being a tampon in old horse-face Camilla.
