But the military can see this as a problem because in order to clean this equipment sometimes "it" must be disassembled for a proper cleaning and then reassembled. This costs money. Money they will not spend especially in a hurried situation. DU is hazardous to one's health especially after destroying vehicles and equipment due to a chemical reaction with the metal the equipment is made of after being hit and then burning by the DU rounds,as the soldiers on the battlefield found out during Desert Storm from all the toxic fumes coming from the equipment and floating in the air similar to what the people experienced on 9/11 and during the cleanup. This is not new to the US Military.
