Raw Milk Farmer Michael Schmidt Raided … Again

Breaking News: I just got word that, within the last few hours, Canadian raw milk farmer Michael Schmidt has once again been raided by the raw milk police state. Currently, only The Bovine is has made it public on the web. The court had granted Schmidt leave to appeal, and yet, the state’s police arm is desperately trying to keep its power to enforce its despotic decrees. Schmidt has a long history of being tyrannized by government agents. Here’s a snippet from a story about the appeal on Food Safety News:

Now with the twisted outcomes, the Ontario Court of Appeal has agreed to hear the case. Pro bono counsel, Karen Selick, from the Canadian Constitution Foundation is representing Schmidt in the appeal.

Selick says Schmidt is a “big advocate for food freedom,” and “we litigate for liberty.”

Karen Selick, by the way, is a long-time libertarian activist and champion of freedom. I’m certain there will be much more to come on this story by tomorrow morning.
