Texas Rep. Ron Paul’s campaign issued issued a statement on what his budget priorities will be if elected.

The Texas Republican, who has made limited-government a central component of his campaign, is the first Republican presidential candidate to release a budget plan and Mr. Paul’s comes less than two months after officially announcing his intention to seek the 2012 nomination.

Mr. Paul said “as President, I will not be able to waive a magic wand and solve all of our problems overnight,” adding, “first, I will veto any spending bills that contribute to an unbalanced budget.”

The Texas Republican reiterated his pledge to anti-abortion groups, saying he “will veto any spending bill that contains funding for Planned Parenthood, facilities that perform abortion and all government family planning schemes.”

The Texas Republican also noted that his administration would “cease any further implementation of ObamaCare.”

Mr. Paul’s campaign pledge follows in the wake of a presidential straw poll, which saw Mr. Paul as the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. The straw poll victory is the latest in series of victories for Mr. Paul, who won the CPAC straw poll earlier this year.
