Report: Ex-Mossad chief says strike on Iran could ‘affect us for 100 years’

Former Mossad Chief Ephraim Halevy told Time magazine in an interview published Thursday that an Israeli attack on Iran “could have an impact on us for the next 100 years” and should only be considered as a last resort.
Halevy, who currently heads the Center for Strategic and Policy Studies at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, added that an Iranian attack on Israel would probably have little impact, because Iranian missiles would largely be intercepted by Israel’s advanced anti-missile defense system.
Another former senior Mossad official, who reportedly served during Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s administration, told the American magazine that “Iran’s achievement is creating an image of itself as a scary superpower when it’s really a paper tiger.”

An additional Israeli source told Time that Israel sees the period between the U.S. elections in November and the president’s inauguration in January as the “window of opportunity” for a possible attack on Iran. The source explained that any military move against Iran would not be carried out before the elections, because it would negatively impact the presidential candidates, especially Republican candidate John McCain and “No Israel leader wants to be blamed for destroying the Republican chances,” Time cited the source as saying.
However, the magazine quoted intelligence sources as saying that an Israeli attack on Iran would likely stall the Islamic republic’s nuclear aspirations only by “a year or two.”
Launching a long-range strike against a multitude of hidden targets in Iran entails huge risks and uncertain rewards, which makes the cost-benefit analysis weigh against an air strike on Iran, according to some senior Israeli officials who urge caution.

Well, if the Israelis attack that is a good reason for the Iranians to get a bomb and I support that. You have to defend yourself from bullies…and the US and Israel are bullies. I feel sorry for those in the US and Israel who are doing all they can to stop this madness…but, as you can see the madness marches on. They need to make their leaders afraid of them…got any ideas?

I am absolutely amazed that among 7 billion population on this prison planet, nobody can deduce the truth of Islamic regime in Iran.
Look here, in a nutshell, the world had and has only one unique “government” that plays all the cards.you can call it Illuminati or whatever. when they decided to end the military-industrial wars between eastern and western blocks in the mid 70’s,they planned to create a TERRORIST HUB in the region to continue with the role of the soviet union in another guise.
What really happened is that they created an eastern enemy in the beginning ( Russian revolution) to reach these two goals:
1- Creation of Ordo ab chao, that is ,to force all the eastern countries and all the western countries gather in 2 united blocks, the west and the east.
The role of soviet union was to confront Europe and USA and strenghten the huge military-industrial complex to create the world’s first superpower capabilities in the USA.After the soviet union role was fulfilled in the end of 70’s , there came the time to unite the now united east with united west
under one umbrella and there were no need for more super power capabilities because it now existed in a huge complex.

Now the final stage shall take place and that is when the superpower capabilities were completed, then it is necessary to strenghten the NATIONAL SECURITY sector , that is , to create the final scene in terms of seizing all levers of power and declaring a martial law and global dictatorship by criminalization of each and every citizen.In this stage you see at least 16 USA national security agencies working together.
Now what you need to create this status as you did in case of soviet union? a HUB in the middle east to terrorize and demoralize the world and specially the USA citizens.THAT IS the role of the islamic republic in Iran.

Then 1 year before the revolution, there was a big promotional theatre about the world boxing champion ship and all the middle east watched as the “Moslem” boxer knocked down the “American” one.And of course do not forget that in the coming years, the Rocky serial movies all were preparing the world for the same theater and this time the “American” knocked down the “Russian Bear” and predicted the soviet down fall in the 80’s.
Please just think! The Iranian IMAM Khomeini is promoted widely by the British BBC, settles in a nice Paris suburb to meet all the press and give false promises to every body, and then flies to Iran in a French plane , gets on an American Chevrolet Blazer and heads to cemetery!!!
Don’t you see what has happened? Iranian regime (simultaneously with Saddam Hossein and Taliban in Iraq and Afghanistan) was the substitute for the soviet dissolution but this time not to strenghten the military power but to create too much terror to make grounds for USA police state and EU dictatorship which will be declared very soon indeed.

I have said exactly what you are saying about Iran protecting itself from bullies! As you know from PNAC documents it has always been the goal by Israel and the US to control the middle east by full blown invasion and occupation.
I support any country that gets nukes because then they can protect themselves and the bullies will think twice about attacking them. What the US is doing to Iran is trying to justify attacking them(just like Iraq) before they have a chance to defend themselves.
After all, you don’t attack a country(Russia) that can destroy you with the flick of a switch. Russia knows exactly where to aim it’s nukes(not the polulations of Israel or the US)but the government itself.
That is why the governments of Israel and the US have continuity of government plans and underground bases and why the US never attacked the USSR. THE ONLY COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH THAT HAS EVER USED THE BOMB IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and it was against the innocent people of two Japanese cities!
