Rice: U.S. is still ‘very well-regarded’ in terms of ‘popularity.’

In an interview with CBS today, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was asked how the U.S. image has fared under President Bush. Rice acknowledged that there were “some negative perceptions” but added that the U.S. is still quite popular:
But I’m always a little puzzled to find the two most populous countries in the world — China and India – even if you want to take the test of popularity, which by the way, I don’t think is the issue, but even if you wanted to take the test of popularity, the United States is very well regarded.
“Among several of America’s traditional allies, support has fallen steeply since 2002,” Pew noted in 2006. An April 2008 BBC poll of 17 countries found that views of US influence in the world are “predominantly negative”:
A November National Intelligence Council report predicted that U.S. influence will decline over the next two decades as China and India gain clout.

She’s delusional and insane! The unilateralism of the United States Government and their disdain for international law has made the world deplore and loathe the United States. I know intelligent people can discern good people of a country from evil of the governmental leaders. The mainstream media always plays stories of love for America to make Americans feel warm inside. I remember seeing a CNN report with a reporter interviewing people in Iran about thoughts on USA. They only interviewed people who had something good to say. There are 192 recognized nations by the UN and out of them they have troops in 135 nations. Often when the soldiers commit crimes in these nations they get away with it. Incidents like in Italy, Okinawa, and Japan, aircraft incident, rapes, etc… not to mention ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan where practices there are quesitonable and sometimes blatantly against the law. Unilateral bombing of Pakistan which is an act of War. Then the funding of color revolutions from Lebanon to Kyrgystan. Expansion of NATO and actually attacking Russia in a proxy war through Georgia, something never done during the Cold War. Kosovo independance, hypocracy in speeches(My favorite, “In the 21st century, nations don’t invade each other”), and past conflicts and humitarian crisis. Vetoing of anti war measures against Israel and furthering support of their apartheid methods of controlling the Palestinian people. The loss of Freedoms in the American Homeland…. Police brutality growing.. WHAT IS THERE TO LIKE ABOUT AMERICAN GOVERNMENT???????????? They’re INSANE!!!! They’ve killed as many as Hilter but they put roses around it and make a good story about humanitarian efforts being made. This kind of two faced government has led people down the wrong path. And When I See Condaleeza Rice talk, She puts the face of this EVIL on the Bush policies. So what Caleb wrote would not do her justice…..
Please note, I do not hate American people and realize there are still some good people in parts of US government. I know the US government collects antiques and cultural items for preservation efforts. There are other programs like this that show a good side, but the government grew too big and jumped out of the bag and out of control.

If you listen closely you can hear her internal lie that helps present the external lie. You’ll notice she tries to discredit the idea of “popularity”, but then has to choose the two countries with the largest populations with whom we are “well regarded”. You can see her doing the math in her head to justify her POV through sheer numbers and her statement simply betrays her lack of faith in her own argument. How pathetic.

Right. We’re still popular in England, our lapdog and marionette and recycler of our ‘culture’ such that it is, and with Israel, since we are their ATM.
