Rogers: The Elite Are Turning A Recession Into A Depression
Veteran investor says Obama’s agenda will only exacerbate the problem

Veteran investor Jim Rogers warns that the policies of central banks and politicians are turning what would have been a recession into a new great depression, and that Barack Obama’s taxation agenda will only make the problem much worse.
Speaking to Bloomberg News, Rogers said that the crisis would at least be the worst since the second world war and that “it could well be” as bad as the great depression.
“1929 was the stock market bubble which popped, we were going into a recession and then the politicians around the world starting making horrendous mistakes which turned it into a depression, it would have been just a normal recession otherwise but the American politicians and the European politicians – everyone got in on the act and that seems to be happening this time too,” said Rogers.
Rogers labeled it “unfathomable” what central banks were doing and totally at odds with the lessons of history, adding that President elect Barack Obama’s intention to impose protectionism and taxation of capital would fuel a depression.

“If that happens, it’s all over,” warned Rogers, adding that the same thing will happen to the U.S. as happened to Britain between 1918 and 1939, which went from being the richest and most powerful country in the world to being a shambles. China would replace America as the great superpower in the 21st century, said Rogers.
Rogers explained that the only safe haven during such a period would be commodities and precious metals like gold, which always perform well during times of extreme upheaval. Rogers said he had bought a significant amount of gold at the start of its bull run in 2002 and that he hadn’t sold any of it.
The veteran investor stated that shortages would translate into a strong comeback for oil, which slipped down to $36 dollars a barrel yesterday from a peak of over $145 dollars a barrel in July.

I have the solution to the current economic crisis. With all the government bailouts of the auto industry it came to me it was reported that auto workers get paid $70.00 per hour OMG no wonder cars ar so friken expensive. How much expertise does it take to turn a bold or screw in a screw, I have seen footage of an auto plant in operation the robots do most of the work. Any way my solution is a simple one! Get rid of the Unions and enforce a Maximum wage. Min wage is like 7 bucks or something like that make maximum wage lets say $10.00 per hour. all jobs paying the same, if you are a cook or the announcer of a syndicated radio program. of course to enforce this their can be no business owned by anyone else but the government. There will be no taxes because every penny you make goes directly to the master bank and everything you need will be provided for you by the state. Ahh what a wonderful world it will be…..

That is the problem that the people in Greece are bringing on themselves. They are going after the police and the shops in general. The two police officers that shot that child are in custody for now and to target the rest of the police force only turns them against you. You must get the police on your side their job is to protect you. They must have that fact brought to their attention. When you fight with them all they can think of is to fight back. They just see you being a danger to them. They don’t see you as humans but just a pack of animals that they must bring down. Number 22; You talk about paying your debts as if it is a badge of honor but that only applies when the banks have honor themselves. The game is rigged. When the game is rigged all bets are off. If you were playing poker and the person you were playing with had someone behind you, feeding them your hand, would you pay them their winnings if you found out? Only if you were an idiot. I’m sorry to say, as someone who has been in financial services for over 24 years, it is all rigged to benefit those at the top tiers of the system, while those at the bottom are bilked for every dime possible. It is a form of indentured servitude. Examples: I am a taxpayer paying for the banks bailout; this was supposed to open up lending; this did not. Credit standards became tighter to the point of eliminating even qualified borrowers. Further manipulation occurs when the banks lower credit lines, increase interest rates and fees, on paying customers, with no justification. The mortgage process has become more difficult, qualifying criteria changes almost daily which result in cancelled transactions because of borrowers who no longer qualify. The credit bureaus begin to recalculate scores based on so called new and improved models but this makes more scores drop and so fewer are eligible for competitive rates, while the bureaus are making money by selling your information to the very banks who won’t lend to you.
I have been a timely payer my entire life. I am so sick to death right now watching what is happening that I feel like I could throw up everytime I read a headline. The banks and credit bureaus are in bed with each other and tell you that you are only as worthy as your credit score, which is supposed to keep everyone at bay. However, the truth is that we hold all the power and they don’t want us to know that. If you want to start a bloodless revolution, bank customers need to go on strike; refuse to pay bank credit, be it car loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc. Screw credit scoring. If enough people stopped paying their bank debt until the banks got the message, there might be some kind of change which would actually benefit the consumer. If most consumers moved their bank accounts to credit unions, the banks might get the message. Maybe, we the consumers, could negotiate that all delinquent credit would be forgiven and not reported during the strike!
Of course there would be casualties, there always are in a revolution, but this would get someone’s attention whether it is the banks, the politicians or any other entity who is part of this great scam. The way we are headed, we are all going down the crapper anyway. I, at least, would like to be able to choose the day and time of my demise.

Inferno- Hahaha!!! Funny! I exempted myself to the hilt LONG ago. Unfortunately, most of the people in America work for an ‘employer’, who requires the W-2 be filled out. For every ONE who does not pay, there are 1000 who will never NOT pay. The only advantage we have is in numbers, and given what I see today, WE WILL NOT GET THE FAT USELESS EATER/WORKER/SLAVES, numbering in the MILLIONS, to sacrifice even one TWINKIE for their own good.
Now, to let you in on why this cannot work at this time. There are way too many sheep who say “But, you HAVE to pay taxes!”. Even people who should KNOW better will slink from the challenge. You see, most Americans are lemmings, they follow the herd. You cannot get them away from the herd mentality. They are content to remain where they are, because “life is SO good!”. They have families… wives do NOT understand when you tell them “We are NOT participating in this any longer.” Children see daddy and say “How come you are different than the other daddies?” The children cannot comprehend the answer that the other daddies really do not love their families, for if they did truly love their family, they would be with me. They cannot go for days without food. They cannot go for days without shelter.
We are vastly outnumbered by a pack of idiots who have convinced themselves that the slavery they live is not slavery. They are the ones who keep the chains around their wrists and ankles. They are the ones who will stand and stare as you or I are dragged off by the criminal enforcement thugs, and turn to the other lemmings and say “This is what happens if you don’t pay your taxes.” Then all the other lemmings will go home, spend days pondering just how it is that they still OWE money, after federal ‘withholding’ has deprived their children of food and shelter.
Only when they are out in the wilderness, or FEMA camp, will they then realize that you and I died on our feet, rather than begging on our knees. And it will be too late for them. I am teaching my children what freedom means, and hopefully, they will carry that light into the future, because we are outnumbered by lazy, useless idiots who can serve no other purpose than as cattle for the slaughter. So, for now, they will have to be led to the slaughter, sacrificed, and used as examples for the thinking peoples’ children to learn from.
We’re the first generation of the new patriots. We must die first, then others will follow. This war is generations old, and will continue for many more generations, my friend. I Agree with reality completly. We are totally out numbered by people that are blind to what is going on. Most of us that are informed, Don’t even understand the actions and solutions
nessary to make a jump into a better world. Most informed don’t even understand the bottom
line of why we are were we are. the fact of the matter is we have to understand is it comes down to responsibility. We can blame jews, the elite, the devil, demons, non humans, aliens,

Uh, although I am pretty dissident I am just as terrified of some of my fellow dissidents in the above posts as I am of the hired assassin armies. My laughter and satire enable me to be in a contant state of revolution, I don’t care about guns and bombs or gold bars or any of you (no offence). Mr. Rogers and many people still haven’t fully grasped reality. What good will gold do you if food is scarce? You can’t trade gold for food if food is indeed scarce. Converting a portion of wealth to gold is a good idea, but doing only that is a bad idea. Buying seeds and cultivating land is far more essential than having gold alone.
The coming collapse is going to be like the Great Depression on steroids. Last place you want to be is in an urban environment.

I do not have any answer of how to solve this problem. Not any more. When this first happened all that was needed to be done was nothing. The Global markets would sort it all out. Sure some corporations would fall and some would grow but given time the balance would return.
Of the “celebrity” investors one saw it coming and one didn’t. Warren Buffet got burnt when he did that exalted deal a few weeks ago. He was lauded as the only one on the planet who could get that sort of deal only to see his investment collapse a couple of days later.
Jim Rogers saw it coming and moved his home to Singapore and sold his US Dollar denominated assets. Incidentally by living in Singapore he would be out of the range of any gold confiscation by the US Government assuming that he held any and all gold coins he owns with him.
The world’s Central Banks have “injected” trillions of dollars into the global economy without any perceivable result. This money or more accurately this credit was originally destined for the banks to recommence lending again but the banks decided to keep it instead to shore up their balance sheets and cover up a whole host of bad investments that they had made. They also used it to buy out smaller weaker banks. This was money that the Central banks did not have in the first place and in all cases it is either borrowed or created out of thin air.
The comparison between this recession or depression cannot be compared with the depression of 1929/30. This time it will be far greater and have a more devastating effect on a much wide range of people. Why? Because the starting point this time is a lot higher. Prices are higher. Have a look at history and look at what things available today, check their cost and then what they cost in 1930. I believe oil was a few cents a barrel. Yes wages were a lot less then too.
This time people have become complacent and think that all food magically appears in a supermarket, where they (the shopper) have an endless choice of what to choose. It could be argued that this was the case on a smaller scale in 1930, which is true but in those years there was not the Corporate Agriculture business controlling most of the food grown as well as the processing and distribution of it.
After thirty years of continuous growth which represents two generations of growth, most of those in power today have never experienced what it is to go without. I do not mean go without some new toy or the latest “must have” item being sold in the shops. For thirty years most people have seen have wanted and have bought.
The American economy has had the allusion of growing. But it has all been smoke and mirrors. Population has declined in real terms. The only reason there is a larger population today than 30 years ago is by immigration. Both, legal and illegal. Manufacturing has largely been exported and those goods manufactured in the USA are now imported. Food production has generally declined to the extent that most food sold within the USA is now imported. The only real growth has been within the Financial Sector. It has been argued that even this is imagined growth.
When you have a financial system that borrows money then lends out 90% of that money which in turn is called an asset, to be sold it is bound to collapse. I have never been able to understand how a debt or a liability can be converted into an asset.

As for what is happening, the Banks are hoarding the money given to them by the Central
Banks. Why, because the losses are still rolling in from the bad mortgages. Mortgages
are contracts, and you can bet the bankers have a good idea who is a good risk and who
is not. Unfortunately, they have no control over when these mortgages (ARMs) reset. But
they know when the resets will be.
In the 1930s the crisis was halted by FDR halting all banks (Bank Holiday) and not allowing
banks to reopen until they had been audited by the FDIC. The true purpose for the FDIC
was to instill confidence in the Commercial Banks for depositors and INVESTORS! This
unfortunately is not the source of todays uncertainty.
There is a direct relationship between RealEstate and incomes. That realationship is a 3 to 1
ratio between the combined gross incomes of married couples and the price of housing.
Until the mortgage resets run there course, real incomes increase and/or average realestate prices come down, the credit crisis will continue. We have a few more years for this storm
to run.
So what are the Fed and Treasury doing? The Treasury is printing debt (bonds) and the Fed.
is buying that debt with newly printed money to keep interest rates low. What does this
mean in the long picture? Higher interests and taxes five years from now, until this debt
is brought down. Not inflation.

It is not `unfathomable` what the private central banks are doing. They are deliberately creating a depression so that they and their ethnic friends can buy up the planet using counterfeit money (all private central bankster money is that) in the Trillions to really turn it into a prison.
A depression is essential here so that the price of everything falls, otherwise there would be hyperinflation, making the goal of asset transfer unattainable.
I repeat, this is not as a result of mismanagement, it is intentional, and the private central banksters are positioning themselves to heist the planet itself.

What if the powers that be realize as our earth approaches the galactic plane’s heaviest gravitational pull there would be massive geological upheavals and strange weather occurrences that would effect everyone on earth. It would be impossible to just give orders to do this or ration that in today’s society, but if you create this type of massive economic crisis which causes civil unrest than it’s easy to implement more control over a society. Preparing the masses for living with less in hardship conditions and setting in place controls several years in advance for coordinated labor forces. It seems everything is hanging on this one great event (economic meltdown) which will usher in a new paradigm of control.
