Ron Paul Blasts “Secret Government” Running Economy
Congressman warns middle class in danger of being wiped out, says Congress is oblivious and Fed has no clue

Congressman Ron Paul has issued a stinging address concerning the financial crisis in which he outlines how the current economic problems, created via malinvestment and shift to a debt based economy, are now being mismanaged by private interests in secret.
What’s more he says he is not sure the Federal Reserve has any idea what to do next and that the Congress is totally oblivious to the whole sorry state of affairs – a cocktail of elements he warns puts the middle class of America in serious jeopardy.
“Today we had a lot of financial fireworks in the markets, a lot of things are going on, and I think we are in the middle of something very big.” the Congressman stated.
Speaking on the recent collapse and government bailout of several big financial institutions he warned:
“We’re talking about big bucks, we’re not talking about hundreds of millions or even hundreds of billions, we’re talking about trillions of dollars, the obligation is immeasurable.”
“The interesting thing is that they (the financial institutions) don’t come to the Congress, I mean the Federal Reserve buys them out, they own it. We as tax payers now own Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and know one knows how much that will cost. They don’t come to the Congress, we don’t have appropriations, it’s done by secret government, private individuals behind the scenes maneuvering and manipulating and trying to patch things up. While in the meantime, I’m sure there’s a few people making a couple of bucks out of this whole thing.”

The Congressman highlighted how an economy structured on debt and credit and a financial system based on interventionism and self serving moral hazard has led to gross devaluation of the dollar and ultimately lies at the root of the current financial meltdown.
“Our problems come first of all from the Federal Reserve. It is a monopoly and it controls interest rates artificially low, causes people to make mistakes, that’s the basic source. But then on top of that in the Housing market we had the community reinvestment act which told investors that they had to loan to risky borrowers, and that was a risky complication. HUD contributes to this, FDIC contributes, it’s called moral hazard, everything that we have done over here creates moral hazard, that is we assure people or assume that we will take care of everybody, just go out and create the risk, it is the opposite of the market place.” Paul stated.
“You can’t create money like we’re doing in order to support the dollar, because ultimately it hurts the dollar and everything we do in Washington today whether its on the appropriations side, whether it’s what the Fed is doing, buying up America, it’s all putting pressure on the dollar. One of these days we’re just going to have to wake up and say that we need to liquidate debt. This is malinvestment.” he urged.
The Congressman then slammed those who have blamed the crisis on failures of the free market:
“And then they have people come along and say ’see, this is the failure of capitalism’, this has nothing to do with capitalism, this is something that started off as interventionism and us being too involved in the economy for the benefit of special interests. But now it is being socialized out in the open.”
“The end of this comes when people reject the dollar and I think we’re getting awfully close to this.” Paul stated echoing comments from leading investors such as Jim Rogers, who predicted Monday that the dollar would soon lose its world reserve status.
“When you see the movement in the markets that we have today, you know that there are serious problems out there and Congress basically are oblivious, they have no idea what’s going on.” Paul continued.
“As a matter of fact I’m not even sure the Federal Reserve has any idea what to do about this. They’ve been manipulating and maneuvering for their own benefit over the years but eventually the market wins out.”
The Congressman’s comments were echoed today by reports indicating that the Congress cannot agree on any form of action and is likely to simply adjourn and “get out of the way”.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters that “no one knows what to do”.
In a stark warning, Ron Paul stressed that the longer the value of the dollar is allowed to depreciate, the greater the risk becomes for the majority of Americans:
“The reason this is so important is that if you care about people in a humanitarian sense, what you want to do is protect the value of the money. Just think of the third world nations when they have total run away inflation, the middle class gets wiped out. And what we are seeing today is the middle class being jeopardized by this type of system that we have, unlimited spending, unlimited debt, unlimited creation of new credit.”
“So it’s time that we wake up… The answers are in the free market, sound money and our Constitution.” Paul concluded.

The amazing irony is that gold has existed , survived and now prevailed, for 100 years, under the same predatory “hidden hand” market subversions that the paper dollar and the stock market can not endure for a few hours without triage from the worlds central banks.

What we have today with unbridled finance capitalism is not a free economy at all. It is one where the rich own the government, privatize resources and utilities that should be part of the societal commons, pay with bribes and campaign contributions to get the political leadership they want, and put ordinary people increasingly into debt and poverty.
Why is public property only considered of value when someone places a fence around it… I say: back to the drawing board.

Maybe I’m an a$$-hole, but I find this whole situation HILARIOUS. This country has been destroyed by its own greed, and I’m a sucker for irony. Hooray capitalism! Even funnier, the majority of the middle class will STILL be voting for John “Nine Houses” McCain and usher in their own demise that much quicker. I love it. The other half will be voting for Barak “Lesser-Of-Two-Evils” Obama, who has no clue how to get us out of this.
John McCain always babbles about “small businesses” and how great they are, but I wonder if maybe he couldn’t have actually just settled for two or three houses and spent the rest starting a small business or two and actually employing people… you know, the much-fabled but rarely-seen “trickle down” effect rich people always espouse? When we finally acknowledge our third world reality, I hope guerilla fighters claim ownership of all nine houses and kick that lying old bastard out on the street.

The framers created a system where we did not have to rely on the good graces or good mood of the president. In fact, Madison said that he created a system essentially to be run by devils, where they could not do harm, because we didn’t rely on their good motivations.
Now we must. And people have no idea how significant this is. What, really, a time of shame this is for the American system. What the Congress did and what the president signed today essentially revokes over 200 years of American principles and values.

You tell ‘em Ron! Unfortunately the ship is on a collision course with no one that will turn it around. At least the rest of us can see it coming.
Maybe the NWO will have a change of heart but I doubt it.
This sounds like the “something very big” that Ron was hinting at a while ago. Either it wasn’t too hard to predict or he was forewarned and knew it was right around the corner.
Keep it up Ron there’s not a lot of hope otherwise unless as I said the one’s pulling the strings decide to tap on the breaks and realize they’re plan is creating diminishing returns.

Thus gold acted independently of the dollar and surged in all major currencies including the euro, British pound, Japanese Yen and Swiss franc.
The world’s central banks , already the biggest holders of gold, are again looking at gold as an alternative and safer reserve asset than the dollar.
Forgot to add that, plus I recommend gold bars. You can get the smaller looking gold bars they will be fine. I would not collect coins unless you like to collect coins.

I hate to defend Wal-Mart, but, around here, their starting pay is $10+/hour. A year and a half ago, McDonalds’s new hires started at $6/hour (the may be up to $7/hour now). There’s no other retail jobs that I know that start as high as Wal-Mart jobs in my area; Target maybe. By all means, pick on Wal-Mart, but realize that the problem is systemic to all American retail and not limited to Wal-Mart.
The question maybe should be why a retail company built on the back of the Interstate system is the country’s largest corporation.

The federal reserve owned by private individuals prints money from thin air, loans it to the government, and 100% of the illegal IRS collection goes to pay debt on this money loaned to government. Gold and silver is the only constitutional money for a reason, you cant’ increase the supply with a printing press. Increasing the supply makes the money we hold worth less. If the fractional reserve banking system (the bankers can loan 10 times the amount they have on deposit) wasnt’ around the price of houses, cars, everthing would be cheaper. If I have $10K to loan, saved from my labor I have to compete with a banker who printed it from paper which makes his investment nothing but mine years of saving. If you keep $10K under the mattress, 10 years later it won’t buy the same amount of goods-the difference is what was stolen from you by the Federal Reserve and Congress. Ron Paul is the only politician who dares speak of the evils of the Fed. I can’t believe people aren’t outraged when a theif comes to their door every april 15th to steal from them, to give our money to some conterfiters. Dennett, 61, the Progressive Party’s candidate for Vermont Attorney General, said Thursday she will prosecute President Bush for murder if she’s elected Nov. 4.
Dennett, an attorney and investigative journalist, says Bush must be held accountable for the deaths of thousands of people in Iraq — U.S. soldiers and Iraqi civilians. She believes the Vermont attorney general would have jurisdiction to do so.
She also said she would appoint a special prosecutor and already knows who that should be: former Los Angeles prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, the author of “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder,” a new book.
“Someone has to step forward,” said Dennett, flanked by Bugliosi at a news conference announcing her plan. “Someone has to say we cannot put up with this lack of accountability any more.”
Dennett and two others are challenging incumbent Attorney General William Sorrell, a Democrat, in the Nov. 4 election.
Bugliosi, 74, who gained fame as the prosecutor of killer Charles Manson, said any state attorney general would have jurisdiction since Bush committed “overt acts” including the military’s recruitment of soldiers in Vermont and allegedly lying about the threat posed by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in speeches that were aired in Vermont and elsewhere.
“No man, even the president of the United States, is above the law,” said Bugliosi.
The White House press office didn’t respond to a request for comment Thursday. But Republican National Committee spokesman Blair Latoff denounced Dennett.
“It’s extremely disappointing that a candidate for state attorney general is more concerned with radical left-wing provocation than upholding the law of Vermont,” Latoff said. “These incendiary suggestions may score points among the most fringe elements of American society, but can’t be settling for anyone looking for an attorney general.”
Anti-Bush sentiment runs deep in Vermont. It’s the only state Bush hasn’t visited as president, and one whose liberal tendencies make it unlikely he will.
In 2007, the state Senate adopted a resolution calling for Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
Last March, the towns of Brattleboro and Marlboro voted to seek indictments against Bush and Cheney over the war, and dozens of other towns voted at town meetings to call for his impeachment.
Sorrell, who is seeking a sixth term, said he doesn’t believe a Vermont attorney general would have the authority to charge Bush.
“The reality is, in my view, that unless the crime takes place in Vermont, then I as the attorney general have no authority under Vermont law to be prosecuting the president,” Sorrell said.

1. If you are lucky enough to still be employed, go change your Withholding to the maximum. Take as much cash as possible, stash under your mattress what you will owe at the end of the year. This drys up revenue stream for the shysters in D.C.
2. Go to your bank, and withdraw all your savings. Tell them you will be happy to redeposit when interests rates are honest, and reflective of the risk. I would say, at least 7.5% for savings deposits under $10,000, and 10% for deposits over. Enough giving the banksters funds to loan at 19% interest on credit cards, while they pay us 2% on OUR money.
3. Email your Senators and Congresscritters, let them know if they do not stop the giveaway of our money (Gee, regulate commerce much, you cretins?) by the foreign-owned Federal Reserve bank, you will vote for anyone but a Democrat or Republican. Let them know you are a registered voter, and you are pissed off. Let them know you give a rat’s ass whether AIg or Lehman’s survive: you are too busy trying to find gas money and grocery moiney to worry about Billionaires and Millionaires losing their speculative behinds.
5. Tell Ron Paul to STFU, since he is just another 9/11 gatekeeper. Roy, you are waaay too paranoid. Just because some website tells you people are masons or are reptiles, will you believe it? The images you’re seeing are either in your head or are an encoding error. There is no reptilian conspiracy because metamorphosis to such a degree is impossible; I know a freemason, and believe me when I tell you, he’s more of a intellectually inept loser than a co-conspirator to rule the world. It’s a lot easier to believe everything is the way it is because it’s a big conspiracy but the truth is that it’s the consequence of complex inter-connected events we could never measure the full magnitude of.

Now to the most mentioned statement here. What to do? Well, it is like when you went out after dark and momma said, do not, you bent over and took the whipping like a man.
The same applies here. Everyone has been using the easy credit of the Federal Reserve.
Government long ago gave up balancing the import/exports. Sub-prime credit for housing. Consumer credit that would take years to pay off. Borrowed from other countries and that is for starters.
That is one hell chunk of debt to be paid off. It will be paid now with deflation, and devaluation of the dollar. That is property values going to half or better. Stocks will drop half again, also. The debt will be taken in bankruptcy and hard work. The dollar devalued to make imports less then exports.
Now to ease the spanking Americans need to immediately start paying off debt and saving. The Federal government needs to pay off debt and cut expenditures. Which means many of the programs we have become accustomed to. Need to go.
Americans need to also, buy less abroad and more here, even if it costs more. Now that is the solution, but who is the first volunteer. I thought so.
Next best solution.
Stand out of the way, because capitalism will do what it does to balance the Federal Reserve easy credit intervention created for big government politicians and a handful of bankers as I described above.
Intervention now is exactly what caused this problem and will only make it worst. Of course politicians jobs and government are on the line to be bankrupted also.
