Ron Paul: Health Care Bill Could Kill The Dollar
Universal health care will not be free – it will devastate the economy, warns Congressman

If the Obama administration keeps its promise in guaranteeing not to raise taxes to pay for universal health care, the only way to cover the costs will be for the Federal Reserve to print even more money out of thin air, a process that will kill the dollar and lead to lower living standards for all Americans, warns Congressman Ron Paul.
In his weekly Texas Straight Talk telephone update, Dr. Paul said that Saturday night’s passage of the health care bill in Congress will lead to a further devastation of the American economy and the greenback.
The Congressman highlights the fact that the health care reform package is already twice as expensive as originally forecast and that estimates of past health care spending programs have been off by as much as 100 per cent, “So there is no telling what the actual cost will be,” states Paul, adding that government intervention has always been expensive and historically has routinely led to waste, fraud and abuse.
Paul labeled the bill “completely unconstitutional” and accused Washington of “torturing the numbers” rather than facing the truth and warned, “If health care reform does indeed pass, we should not be under the illusion that it will be free, they will have to get the money from somewhere.”

Dismissing claims that the government will get the money from cutting wage fraud and abuse, noting that this was intrinsic to government programs, Paul said that if the administration doesn’t raise taxes and premiums, “This can only then put more pressure on the Fed to print the money out of thin air,” resulting in an even greater acceleration in the weakening of the dollar.
“This new monumental pressure could very well be the straw that will break the dollar’s back,” warns Paul.
“Foreign creditors are already nervous about continuing to invest in the U.S. because of our skyrocketing debt – the explosion of debt that is certain to accompany the enactment of this national health care bill can only add to that nervousness,” said the Congressman.
Paul concluded by warning that a government takeover of health care will take a flawed system and make it “immeasurably worse”.

It won’t be long now. Maybe what we need is a faster death of the dollar the pain might be more intense but shorter lived hopefully.
I think anything that hastens the collapse of the current system we have is likely to be a good thing in the long run, and might take the entire Feral Government along with it. We can hope anyway.

I think that you’re hoping for a recovery that will never come. I understand the logic – let the dollar crash, then start over (or something). The problem is that this is an engineered crash and bankruptcy of the USA, and that once that happens, once we cannot afford to bring back our overseas military, that would be a great time to attack the mainland. the attack could be a direct military attack, but I think that it would be too soon for that – we’re still too strong. The real bad attack will come covertly – like it HAS been happening. I don’t think that the powers that be are willing to let America get back on it’s feet (or even it’s knees) – we’re still too strong since MANY Americans are armed – even without our standing army.

I agree with what you wrote. People who think we will survive as the same country we have always been don’t really understand what is happening. It is much bigger than most think. It is happening at once all over the world. Do people really think that the world will recover and go back to prosperity? If they do they are in for a BIG surprise! The NWO or powers to be have systematically gutted the world of it’s wealth and prosperity. They do not intend to give it back.
I don’t think electing Ron Paul in 2012 will be possible. Even if he is elected, they will have built such a monster of government bureaucracies that it will be impossible to ever remove them. I feel that everything will fall apart way before the elections in 2012. Those who wish for the eventual collapse thinking things will get better are in for a big let-down. I agree with you and the original poster as well.
The worldwide nightmare that the fall of the US will cause is beyond most can really encompass in their minds. This is exactly the outcome expected by those who architet global enslavement.
I know for a fact Ill be out of a job, like most of my profession. I live in Brazil and work as a web programmer for a custom software company. We have very big and wealthy clients, most of them are service providers to big companies overseas. This trail leads back to the US in 90% of our clients.
The cascading effect is very easily visible, and this will happen to all countries and firms, small or big, who have their end-points in the US or the US dollar – wich is … a lot of them. Most of them maybe.

This is NOT ‘free health care’ – we are paying BIG BUCKS for it. I estimate it will be 25% of my net salary – more than I pay each month in rent. And I have a relatively low-paying job (by choice so I don’t have to pay so much in tax) but a good one – which I will lose when this kicks in, as one section of the bill says my public defender boss will have to fork out 72.5% of the bill – which she cannot afford to do since she works on a thin margin, so she will have to let me go and I will be unemployed.
And that doesn’t figure in the financial penalty ($25,000 to $250,000) and prison sentence (1-5 years) if I cannot pay this outrageousness.
I read the democraticunderground.com forum on this – disgusting; democrat lemmings are ecstatic they ‘won’ – they haven’t taken out their calculators to reveal the reality of this financial attack on themselves. Just because you’re a democrat doesn’t mean you don’t have to fork over. Only congresscritters and illegal immigrants will be exempt from paying.

The abysmal health care in this country is a symptom on a perfect storm of widespread food and nutritional illiteracy fostered by the media, big agra, and big pharma, the destruction of the dollar and the lowered standard of living that results. I also believe there are a lot of corporate lobbyists out there who want to get rid of the burden of offering health care to employees. I do believe personally that the government should provide minimal health care to all citizens but only if we had a nationalized treasury, strong, commodity backed currency and a government committed to upholding the constitution. Even in that scenario, the current bill proposed would not be the solution.

Face the facts. The “Public Option” written in the bill basically will allow 50 million low income Americans acces to free medical care. This isn’t good business for the medical mafia now in charge. Insurance companies are now taking your money every month for coverage, weed out anyone who is sick (pre-existing condition), and then they don’t pay your medical bill at the critical time, saying treatment you need is not necessary or is experimental.
Every other civilized country (Britian, France, Canada and others) all have free medical care for their citizens. All the problems that you hear on FOX about their healthcare is propaganda and false. Doctors in those countries are paid a salary. The doctors also get nice perks and bonuses if their patients get well, quit smoking or blood pressure goes down. In America it’s just the opposite. American doctors get more money when they botch the job and have the patient back for more treatment. The bonus for American doctors is almighty “operation”. Hurray! That’s when the American doc hits the lottery. Who the heck knows how much it should really cost when they remove your appendix? I don’t know. You don’t know…..that’s why the medical mafia charges you 120,000 dollars. One hundred twenty thousand dollars for the removal of an appendix! An operation that my vetnarian could do.

You have some valid points. But you can’t look at things in complete opposites, which too damn many people do. Just because our system sucks and the systems in Europe are different is no reason to adopt their system. Different does not automatically equate to better.

I thought I would pass along something that I expect many of you will find interesting. I had an online exchange yesterday in which the other person insisted that everything can be paid for by taxing the “rich”. The person stated that any suggestion that the rich could not completely foot the bill was a lie, one perpetrated by the rich so they could continue to exploit the middle and working class. The person said I should stop believing the lies of the rich, which included the idea that the national debt and budget deficits are any real concern, that social security is broke and only holds gov’t IOUs in the form of gov’t bonds, and that there isn’t enough rich people to tax to pay for all the gov’t spending programs that currently exist or are being proposed.
So beware. There are people out there that really do not want to know or believe the truth. They really believe that they are being exploited. It is these people that vote for representatives that work to enact collectivist big-government big-brother programs that will bankrupt this nation. When I suggested that their program could cause a complete fiscal disaster, the response was that they would prefer a complete fiscal collapse to letting the rish exploit the middle class any longer. This person said he did not care if the dollar was destroyed or if the US defaulted on its debt.
What scares me most is that this person sincerely believed what they were saying. These are the people that will send this nation over edge into a fiscal abyss and blame the “rich” for the collapse. (Unless of course, you want a collapse.) To say the least I was stunned at the ignorance and callousness this person demonstrated. Imagine if this type of person works in Nancy Pelosi’s office. That would explain a great deal.

One very important point to make, is that when the government of America changes to the American Republic it will leave behind the oligarchy of men and women that have ruined the lives of so many Americans over the centuries. Judah Ben-Hur is a real person with a real name who is part of a change that is brewing in America to go up against the current system of government with more than just an idea. American’s have become complacent with those that know how to demoralize the poor and frighten the rest. They do not serve the public interest anymore, and will be replaced.
The American Armed Forces are becoming aware of Judah Ben Hur’s intent, and are interested to know more of the American Republic. Once the Manifesto is published next year, it will allow all those that are in despair to make a choice to either create a real change in America, or continue with the deceptive tactics used by Obama to fool the innocent and reward the business empire with the spoils of Americans.

Ask those that are out of work, poor, sick, helpless, what they wish for? More taxes? More insult to their misery? More bills to pay? The current government under Obama are allowing the business leaders to continually rape and pillage the American people into a no win scenario.
The Obama government is not protecting the American people and will not as long as the current leaders are allowed to rein in government.
Thus a new government for the people and by the people will take place in 2012 without the consent of the current system of government and its business moguls. Once the American military makes its choice, change will be much easier for Americans.

I am completely in favor of health care reform with a public option. I am not in favor of any bill that was authored by the various lobbies. We cannot expect for the very industries who profit so handsomely in all aspects of health care to make beneficial reforms on their own. That’s for sure. We can’t really expect for the reforms to be very beneficial if the medical related lobbies are making the reforms. I will state this much. I realize that this is all a bit like continually having your defense on the football field because there are always new offenses being thrown at us, us being the people. I state that because we don’t always have the courtesy of being able to be proactive against every measure. I do also see it like this, however. You really don’t see anyone offering viable alternatives to the issues like health care until they are defensive and not proactive. Everyone knows that the health care system is flawed. Frankly, it is very fucked up. Where were all of our own armchair quarterbacks at with their own proposals in regard to such things, as opposed to waiting for a plan that they can say they don’t like being presented? If we want real beneficial changes, we need to be proactive. Also, it always strikes me as being odd that we can afford to finance these wars, but we can’t afford to keep our own healthy. Seems like we could without the wars.
