Congressman to make decision within six months

Rumours of a Ron Paul 2012 presidential run have already begun to surface after the Congressman’s communications manager and grandson-in-law Jesse Benton dropped hints with Reason’s David Weigel recently.
“He hasn’t closed out the idea of another run,” said Benton today. “We have some time to decide whether he runs again, or whether he gets behind somebody else. But we don’t have tons of time. By the middle of 2009, the decision needs to be made.”
According to Benton, Paul would most likely run as a Republican again if he decided to enter the race one more time. Benton commented:
“To be frank, I got tired of the ‘third party’ question getting asked time after time, and I know that Ron did too.”

Ron paul is getting older he may not be effective, I think at the moment he can do more good where he is at.
Now if ron paul and alex jones get together and find someone worth endorsing that has some miles left to go then that would be great.
November 20th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
Jessie Ventura for President with Ron Paul as VP.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Ron Paul is a true American Hero. The Founding Fathers would be proud of him.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Alex Jones for Pres! He wouldn’t do it but can you imagine if Alex was in the debates? Now that would be bad ass!
November 20th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
I love RON
November 20th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Ron paul 4 “FED” CHAIRMAN or treasury sec. Attack the enemy from within.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
WEll, after Ron Paul promised to stay with it until the end….and then quit, theres no way in hell i would put my support behind him again…I believe he was nothing but a patsy…i remeber when he was making much more money in his campaign than Obama….and with all his promises, only to let the people down?? This man is not the type I want for a President!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Ron Paul has a strong following. No one else has a following like him. If it’s a ‘go’ then we have four years to make him stronger. We need to storm the Republican Bastille’s then, again.
Come on guys! Even Pat Buchanan won a few states.
The corporate media will ignore him in particular so it’s all on us.
Viva Ron Paul and Viva the Revolution!
November 20th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Ventura or Paul have to run as indepedents. They would probably poll well enough to be included in televised debates and acheive the same standing as Perot in 1992, who bagged 19 million votes even with a poorly considered running mate.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Run as a Republican? Didn’t we just do that? No, he will never get the nomination.
There needs to be a reform of campaign finance and the debate structure first.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
I dearly hope that Ron Paul doesn’t run again.
The US elections will never be democratic as long as they are owned by bankers. The bankers fund the system. They own the successful politicians.
If Ron Paul runs it will only inspire people to keep banging their heads against the “democratic” system that has structured to defeat people in the efforts to reform our banking and political systems.
The bankers own the political system. They’re not going to let anything constructive be done in their system that has been so profitable for them.
Ron Paul could do much more good in other ways.
All we need to do to unseat our rulers is stop using their money. When we switch to an alternative currency their system will fall. The central banks will dissolve and their political actors will be out of a job.
Don’t fight the system:
Replace it

November 20th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Ron Paul is my president. i dont listen to the rest as they are more of the same. Ron paul is always right on the money.literally and figuratively.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
By 2012 the Republicans who did not support Ron Paul may realize that he was right about everything. Maybe then they will support Dr. Paul. The Democrat’s collectivist philosophy will keep them from ever voting for him. But my biggest concern is his age. He will be 77 by then. That’s a but old to run for president, although even dead he would be a better president than the other jokers.
November 20th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
Social Viability is right…..it would, unfortunately, be useless for Ron Paul to run again, as the system would simply black him out again. The American Sheep Nation will NEVER be informed enough to vote for him, nor do they apparently CARE any longer. At this point, the complete collapse of this society is pretty well imminent anyway. The best thing to do at this point is the only thing left to do: wait for the Federal Government to collapse under its massive debt load, followed by the United States as a whole. This nation, as it now exists, cannot be rescued or brought back from the brink of death. When the U.S. collapses, we the people will have the best opportunity to shape it into the kind of society we really want, and then we can truly and democratically elect men like Ron Paul. Until then, it is simply not possible. The American Sheep Nation needs to suffer a severe depression and lives that get progressively worse and worse before they will EVER wake up. That is simply the way it is.
November 20th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
I think many more people will get behind him this time, but we need to stop the Diebold scandal first and do something to make the media accountable for fucking him over this time so that next time they think twice about it.
I would throw my support behind him again and work 10 times as hard as before,…which was pretty damn hard.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
After SAME WE CAN BELIEVE IN, our people may be ready for a man of honor and principle whose solutions to most of our problems are simple to comprehend but hard to implement-return to the US Constitution.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
I wish Ron Paul was the presidential candidate this election. Were going to be wasting these 4 years to more of the same. How much worse will it be? Time is going to be the picture. Truths will be found out and i feel Ron Paul will be there to enforce them. I believed they feared him this time even! At first, i thought, that Obama MIGHT be an ok candidate, now im worried to death that we made another BIG Mistake in electing him. Time will tell, and YES, going to give him a chance to prove his skin is no different then what any person wants from life and for a better tomorrow! BUT, he has alot to prove. Following this Bush era has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and a Much lighter wallet and the outlook looks pretty gloomy! Thats a sad state of affairs!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
Get your signs out its time for another Ron Paul revolution.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
I think that the people who once called him crazy are now eating crow. Long live liberty and long live Ron Paul. Let us never give up our struggle for liberty and freedom in this country, promoting this idea whenever possible should be our goal. We can do this!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
I am 100% behind this potential decision. I think it is the duty of every single American to make sure his votes are not suppressed at the roll call. Ron Paul vs. Obama – wouldn’t even be close. A landslide victory, free of any filibustering whatsoever for Dr. Ron Paul!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Please get involved at the local and State level regarding taking back the republican party. this is how we will win…and nothing short of it. Live Free or Diebold. Simple as that.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
If doesn’t get the Republican nomination, he should run in a different party. And, I will vote for him if he does.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
we need to work together. we need to do everything we can.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
Why does he insist on running as a Republican? I voted for him in the primary and general elections, being probably the first person in my family to vote Republican in a hundered years. With all the exposure he’s had the last couple years couldn’t he do better as an independant or other 3rd part candidate?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
The country will be ready for Ron Paul in 2012
November 21st, 2008 at 12:02 am
Ron Paul represents The Constitution, the true ideals that made this Country great.he has no chance of winning running as a Republican or Democrat because both parties are controlled by the NWO.Obama and Mcain are two NWO front men, that explains all the media attention they recieved through the elections.we need to wake up from the hypnotic trance that the media is spoon feeding us and fight for Ron Paul ideals.
November 21st, 2008 at 12:17 am
Jesse the Body did it here in Minnesota, and he could do it nationwide. He has a great deal of charisma — and he’s still in his 50s. They might be ready for him this time, though.
November 21st, 2008 at 4:07 am
that would be great and after bush and obama just maybe the sheepe will be ready for a real president that they can believe in we will all have to work even harder to get him elected! I’m sure after all the bull they will be ready to vote ron paul! Freedom is power!!
November 21st, 2008 at 8:14 am
This is awesome, because now Ron Paul is a household name and he would be in the game with years ahead. I think the biggest problem with Ron Paul’s 08 run is that he did not announce his bid early enough. Obama had almost a year of Paul to get some following.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:05 am
He would be my vote for President. It would make sense for him to run as a Republican if only for the fact that he would be guaranteed a spot on the ballot in every state. That is one of the major obstacles for good third party candidates. The GOP should give him the respect he deserves this time around after he schooled all of their front men in the debates !!!
November 21st, 2008 at 10:53 am
As great as I think the Congressman is the mainstream Republicans will never back Paul. He makes too much sense. The mainstream Republicans think they have the market cornered on right wing thought. If someone such as Paul steps to the right of them they become afraid and turn on the individual. Thats partly what happened in ‘08.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:56 am
Congressman Paul won’t get far with the Republican Party because they have “hit men” such as Hannity, Boortz, and Rush that will shun him and turn the real conservative public against him.
November 21st, 2008 at 12:51 pm
He NEEDS to run as a Third Party.
The 2 party system has become far too corrupt.
Between now and 2012 we need to focus on one of the 3rd parties and get behind it. If Ron Paul were to do this now, he’d pull in support from the Green, the Constitutional and the Libertarian parties. Let’s get a strong third party established first before we worry about a 4th or a 5th. Ron Paul is the man to do it, but it’ll never get done as part of the Democraps or the Repooplicans = far too corrupt, and both owned by the New World Order / International Bankers and their Psychiatrist henchmen.
Sincerely,
Doc
November 21st, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Jesse ‘the brain’ Ventura for Prez.
Bruce ‘the body’ Fein for VP
Ron Paul for Secretary of Everything!
November 21st, 2008 at 1:45 pm
I certainly hope he does run, but Americans need realize that revolutionizing this country begins with them, not some leader.
November 21st, 2008 at 1:49 pm
guys – he’s going to be 76 or 77…i love Dr. Paul but will someone PLEASE step up and become his clone(s)????? He is articulate but doesnt have the toughness to take the scum elite-sponsored candidates down – we need a younger version – Jesee Ventura comes to mind – what say you alll???
November 21st, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Republicans are saying,”after the democrats screw up, then it will be the Republican’s turn”, wow, hey, it has been the republicans turn, for the last 8 yrs. It has been the democrats turn for the 8 before. Now Obama is preaching change, WHAT? HAHA, yeah right. America please WAKE UP!
November 21st, 2008 at 3:12 pm
We can’t wait that long.
November 21st, 2008 at 4:37 pm
It’s too late. There probably won’t even be 2012 elections. The United States of America might not even be The United States of America anymore by then…
November 21st, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Ron Paul believes cavemen coexisted with dinosaurs…..he will never win anything
November 21st, 2008 at 6:45 pm
This hope in Ron Paul to save the planet is getting a bit worn out. Please move on!
I a co called candidate hasn’t been endorsed by the real government then it is never going to happen. World politics 101
November 21st, 2008 at 7:47 pm
ron paul has morals and principals, get some.
November 21st, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Love em or h8t him Dr. Paul helps Patriots rise 2 the TOP!
November 21st, 2008 at 9:05 pm
I would be happy to see Ron Paul run again.
November 21st, 2008 at 11:49 pm
During my school years I had more than one teacher tell us to “put on your thinking caps!” I am now suggesting that all of you should do the same! A few years back there was an independant candidate running ~ also from Texas with the initials “R P” and he, too, seemed to make a lot of sense. He received a lot more votes than Ron Paul. Some say that he helped Bill Clinton to get elected. It seems to me that the 27 year Bush Senior White House is poking fun at our election system. It has permitted a man to be elected president who was NOT even born in the United States! (Kenya) The future looks intersting . . .Financial collapse?. . .Martial Law?. . .Death camps? . . .Please stay tuned! Yahshua is coming soon for all those believing in Him! Shalom!
November 22nd, 2008 at 3:50 am
I would like to see Ron Paul running again. I don´t care if he will be the oldest candidate ever by then..
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:13 am
JP: bush believes dinosaur bones were put here to test our faith. the majority dont. and he won. religious beliefs wont prevent a win.
November 22nd, 2008 at 3:39 pm
“RON PAUL MULLING 2012 PRESIDENTIAL RUN” Why? So he can back out again? So he can raise another 12 million? Don’t waste my time again.
November 22nd, 2008 at 5:02 pm
~What a great idea and i hope it comes to pass..Ron Paul was right about most things, is right now and im sure he will be in the future. Cant wait to see how this turns out…Go gettem Ron im behind you 100%!
November 22nd, 2008 at 5:03 pm
I’ll love to see Ron Paul run again. I saw him in Des Moines, talked with on a radio call-in show and sent him a couple nice checks on his money bomb days. He speaks truth and is the only candidate who will work to abolish the federal reserve (which is no more federal than federal express).
We will not have a decent economy until we get back to sound money. The current monatary system is evil, corrupt, run by criminals, etc. Take 48 minutes of your life and watch “Debt as Money” on youtube and learn about it.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:00 pm
I hope Ron Paul runs again, but wish more that our generation would take the lead and put forth some intelligent leaders. There are some good videos, but even better are the books that Ron Paul read and wrote before establishing his political views. I’ve been reading Murray Rothbard, who writes about Libertarian philosophy and economics. It really opens your mind to the role of government must be limited and how those against government are easily labelled “conspiracy theorists”. Yes, vote Ron Paul, but first educate yourself and those around you on his fundamental political and economic theories, which ain’t always on YouTube.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:55 pm
Give me a break…..this country is headed for complete dictatorship. Are you really reading all that is reported here and on other sites like prophecyupdate.com? The antichrist will be on the scene before 2012. All things are ready…more then ready. I would stake my last cent that it is time to prepare for tribulation, martial law and suffering for refusing a chip implant, which is the mark of the beast….gauranteed. Buy dry beans, water, canned meat, tooth brushes , bug spray etc. If you are not ready, you will never be able to stand. It will be exceedingly hard even if you are. Jesus Christ will return soon enough, but you’d better prepare to face some horrific antichrist reign while you still have a few days to do so.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 pm
Hey I love Ron Paul, but he left a lot people hanging.Me included.I shelled out a decent amount of change for his campaign and I didn’t appreciate his egg shell walking. He wasn’t aggressive enough when he was debating and with the media.Near the end I thought he looked like he had been gotten to by something/someone.He didn’t even contest the primary results that were blatantly skewed in New Hampshire. He just seemed to give up.
I think James #7 is right,Ron Paul had his chance and now it’s over. We’ll never stop these criminals with laws THEY make.We all know what needs to be done.So what are we waiting for?For you all to find your sacks?
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:24 pm
hell be like 77 or 78 theres a huge chance he couldnt even last 1 term.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:52 pm
yea ,I was on the ron paul wagon….till I watched a video,on masons secret handshakes,it shows him on the bill maher show ,he comes out and shakes hands with ben affleck, the camera shows a clear masons secret hand shake…no way could it be edited or a mistake..then I did some research..his father was a high ranking mason…and ron paul is a mason…you say alot of politions are masons…but why has it been kept a secret…as far as ben afflect…how does he warrant such star status…the masons…they take these young people and open doors and promote them….someday he maybe the next ronald reagan…prime example..arnold swarzanegger
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:39 am
Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura in 2012, with Peter Schiff as Secretery of Treasury!
November 23rd, 2008 at 6:28 am
ONLY IDIOTS AND SHILLS WANT RON PAUL TO ‘RUN FOR PRESIDENT’ IN A SYSTEM SET UP BY THE NWO….
The US elections according to you are owned by the bankers. The bankers fund the system. They own the successful politicians. SO WHY GO DOWN THAT SAME RABBIT HOLE?????
As stated by #7 If Ron Paul runs it will only inspire people to keep banging their heads against the “democratic” system that has structured to defeat people in the efforts to reform our banking and political systems.
LET PAUL SET UP A ALTERNATIVE BANKING SYSTEM INSTEAD…
November 25th, 2008 at 12:13 am
Looks like some of you did not put on your “thinking caps”. (#45) Now, is a good time to do so ~ because it’s going to be a “bumpy ride”! They have something planned for us. Is it a “November” or “December Surprise”? Do you really think that this regime of the “crooked cross” will permit a black man born in Kenya, Africa ro become president?? Have your cash on hand and prayers going up to Yahweh. Pray for salvation through Yahshua His Son. They cannot take His salvation away from you! Bessings in Him!
