Ron Paul Scolds Bernanke For Skipping Congressional Financial Hearings
Fed Chairman dodges Congress in favor of secretive euro bankers confab

Texas Congressman Ron Paul has slammed Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke for his decision to skip Congressional Financial Services hearings in favor of secretive meetings with European central bankers.
The hearings, which took place yesterday, incorporated discussions on the TARP funds, the additional $350 billion being requested by the Treasury from Congress.
“At the very last minute, the chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Bernanke has cancelled, as well as Sheila Bear, who is the chairwoman of the FDIC, she will not show up either.” Paul told viewers of his video blog on the Campaign for Liberty website.
“But here I find out that they have a much more important meeting,” the Congressman added with a degree of irony.
“They are going to Basel Switzerland to attend the meeting at the Bank of International Settlements, with other international bankers.” Paul explained.
The meetings in Basel, chaired by the European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet, have been ongoing this week, yet very little details over what has been discussed have emerged in the media.

“But here it is, an emergency meeting for them to run off to Europe and talk about monetary policy and who knows what. One thing for sure is that the people will never hear. As a matter of fact the people in the Congress won’t hear either.” Paul asserted.
“Who knows what they are planning?” The Congressman said. “I will do my darndest to find out what really went on at these meetings that they are holding over in Switzerland right now with all the central bankers.”
“All we do know is that at the very last minute Congress meant nothing to them for them to meet their commitment.” Paul added, pointing out that the pair also skipped meetings with the Financial Services Committee last Wednesday.
The Congressman explained that there is now an ongoing debate, over what should be done with the remaining bailout money, that has completely overshadowed the core issue of why the taxpayer is being asked to give up the money in the first instance.

Oh NO! RP gave them a less than stern talking to. I’m SURE they will see the folly of their ways and never do it again. Sigh…if I were a member of TPTB, I would be in NO WAY shape or form concerned about the efforts of you people. Sure more of you learn more of how things really operate…but then what? You’ll do nothing but continue to bitch and moan to each other and to whoever else will listen. more often than not, preaching to the choir. You can not change a system with the same mind set that created the system, tis true. Likewise, you can’t change a system but insisting on working within the system set of rules. The rules are there to control you, not give you a way to alter the doings of things. Take one step at the time; before we come into your zeitgeist dream world, we have to have truth revealed and justice served, otherwise we will never be “allowed” to get there, not until after billions perish and earth is scorched..

The constitution is flawed, it allowed the current situation to come about. Until the people take to the streets, nothing will change. Governments fall without a shot being fired. We need a new constitution, and ensure the money changers are kept in check.

You are absolutely right, Observer. The powers that be could care less what we SAY here. For the most part, we still use their money, still pay our taxes and still run out to vote in their silly little elections to choose between two political actors that ultimately work for the bankers.
And, yes, we will learn.

Alex or one of his guests said filing a lawsuit is like $300 and a packet with the necessary paperwork can be found at any courthouse. Why don’t we all try this? If I were to testify before congress and skipped out, I’m quite sure there would be warrants issued for my immediate arrest, and my passports siezed. The secret meetings are probably about how they are going to screw us all over with a “new crash” in the market or something to that effect. Its a bunch of people who collectively control the majority of money in the world. Unless theyre honest people nothing good can come of this ( 2 out of 2 that i know of who were there i have screwed us over before) not to mention these meetings are secret, and not even a congressman asking “what is going on is here?” is told what is going on there. It’s about the alex jones’ show in my view there are too many commercials, almost every 5 mins of talks they break for 70 seconds it’s slightly annoying
I appreciate that they need some funds, to run it, but there are some ads on the websites for some corporations, that we know they are part of the NWO and support Israel.

It won’t do us any good turning against Ron Paul. He’s just trying to keep us informed. It’s true that he hasn’t been very effective in holding Bernanke, Paulson, Bush, Chenney, etc. accountable, but he’s a Congressman. What do you expect? After all, his entire platform is based on the fact that government has no power that isn’t given to it by the people, and he’s part of the government. But it’s NOT true that he has had no effect at all. He raised ALOT of attention during the election, much more than mainstream media will ever admit, and if martial law is declared, he will be the main reason why at least SOME in the military will defect before killing U.S. Citizens.
Observer’s right. It’s likely that it will take a knock on the door from the NWO, or starvation, to get anyone to act, even those of us who are well informed. But if you read your history, that’s how it usually goes. The more the NWO acts, the more even the most brainwashed are instinctively woken out of their stupor. It’s sad that it has to go that far, but it does. Look on the bright side; at least you’re prepared. Forewarned is forearmed.

I expect a Congressman to use every tool he has available against these thieves who should be in a prison cell right now. I supported Ron Paul, because he was the best we had available, and respect him. However, I do not agree with his economic plans and theories compared with Webster Tarpley who has a much better grip on the real world situation and scene how governments actually operate in many countries.
Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul are all we have in Congress at this point. Zip in the Senate, so if they don’t use every available opportunity to hold Obama and financial theives accountable with strongest means available, what good are they? They need to throw some “punches”.
Too be honest, I do not worship Ron Paul, and he is starting to sound like an old woman yelling at kids to get off her lawn. I am still thankful he is doing something (even preaching to the choir), but also outraged that nothing has been done about illegal alien Obama/Soetoro qualifying as President. It said Bernanke went to Europe but I’m not sure about Sheila Bear. Did they go at taxpayer expense? I don’t know if it is legal to go to a private meeting at taxpayer expense. I think that would be stealing from the government. They might put out a public statement to cover their butts later but the meeting was still private.

In response to those that responded to me with a counterpoint to my sentiments:
Such as it is, you still prove my point by your terse responses and obsession with america/constitution. You insist on doing “something” yet that “something” remains to be nothing more effective than information sharing/seeking, which is certainly required and has it’s place. Information sharing is ONLY a PART of the process (albeit a continuous one) of the change you seek; it is not THE solution as is OFTEN implied on almost every “patriot” media I can find (buy my dvds, buy gold and silver, buy food and things will just get better). You also do a bang up job of being equally worthless on a practical level as it pertains to the desired change. As I said before, as long as there is some part of the current system in place from which you can gain comfort and familiarity, things will never change to the drastic degree that many of us desire. Only when you have nothing left to lean on will you understand this. Such as it goes with personal growth. You will also understand that beyond information sharing there are 2 very effective forms of change. 1.) Refuse to consent, remove yourself as a brick in the pyramid structure and engage in subterfuge if so moved, to get others to remove themselves as well. Should that fail move to 2.) violence. Yes, not many enjoy engaging in the hyper-drama that is violent conflict…however, understand this: Violent, dark power ONLY responds to and understands (respects, if they even feel that emotion) power/force equal to or greater than itself. So long as your movement of peace, change and information sharing is willing to work within the power structure, it will NEVER have the effect you desire. And lets say it does. What will you do to prevent something like our present circumstances from ever happening again? How can you consistently ensure that the lessons of all your struggles are effectively remembered as generations go by? These are long term lessons to be dealt with as we come to that bridge, but they bear a place in the back of the mind for consideration. Also, now that I think of it…there is another thing that many of you insist on doing that drives me nuts….you insist you being NICE to these people that clearly DO NOT deserve it when speaking in public. These beauracraps should be called what they are in clear and public language across all forms of media: Liars, cheats, ignoramus’, murderers and disbalanced infantiles hardly worth being charge of their own household let alone a country, city or state. And in touching on my earlier words, many of them deserve to have in public from lamp posts as a warning to the rest that their kind is no longer welcomed nor tolerated. Exile them if you wish not to kill them, but keep their dangerous ways in mind when doing so…as I said, dark power will never yield without a fight of some sort and I’m convinced that things are at an unfortunate cross-roads where society must fall completely and rebuilt for anything to really change. Keep in mind, to “fix” things or “do something about it” seeks to keep things the way they are as much as possible whilst still feeling as if things are “better”. Dark is pleased when you engage in this behavior. You must be willing to drop what you have and replace it…as uncomfortable as that may be to many. Annoyingly (in our present circumstances), if you are a sovereign, discerning, intelligent individual that desires freedom, dignity and respect (for yourself and others) then you must fight for it and understand that only YOU can grant those things to yourself….NOT some piece of paper called a constitution or law book grants you these things….YOU grant them to yourself and in doing so you grant a chance for things to be as you desire, for a time at least.
PS. I commend the efforts of folks like RP, but it is too little too late and he still is working within the system and seeks to use the same system to better things. I suspect he may know better but he is doing what he can with what he has. No more or less. I’m simply observing how effective (minimal) his efforts are in light of the lofty goals that lay ahead.
PPS: To the commenter that thought I was within a “zeitgeist” mode of thought: Spare me your infantile understandings and assumptions and spare yet another polarized and disbalanced comparison/argument. The latter part of the zeitgeist film was an insult to my intelligence; I found it quite childish. Yet more yammerings of how things should be and we should all just “wake up” yet nothing more than a passing mention of how such feats can even begin to be accomplished.
