Russia considers nuclear missiles for Syria, Mediterranean, Baltic

DEBKAfile’s military sources report Moscow’s planned retaliation for America’s missile interceptors in Poland and US-Israeli military aid to Georgia may come in the form of installing Iskandar surface missiles in Syria and its Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad.
Russian Baltic and Middle East warships, submarines and long-range bombers may be armed with nuclear warheads, according to Sunday newspapers in Europe.
In Georgia, Russian troops and tanks advanced to within 30 km of Tbilisi Saturday, Aug. 15. A Russian general said Sunday they had started pulling out after president Dimitry Medvedev signed the ceasefire agreement with Georgia and president George W. Bush called again for an immediate withdrawal.

After routing Georgia over the breakaway enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Moscow appears to be eying Poland, the Middle East, and possibly Ukraine, as the main arenas for its reprisals.
One plan on the table in Moscow, DEBKAfile’s sources report, is the establishment of big Russian military, naval and air bases in Syria and the release of advanced weapons systems withheld until now to Iran (the S-300 air-missile defense system) and Syria (the nuclear-capable 200 km-range Iskandar surface missile).
Shortly before the Georgian conflict flared, Moscow promised Washington not to let Iran and Syria have these sophisticated pieces of hardware.
The Iskander’s cruise attributes make its launch and trajectory extremely hard to detect and intercept. If this missile reaches Syria, Israel will have to revamp its anti-missile defense array and Air Force assault plans for the third time in two years, as it constitutes a threat which transcends all its defensive red lines.
Moscow’s war planners know this and are therefore considering new sea and air bases in Syria as sites for the Iskander missiles. Russia would thus keep the missiles under its hand and make sure they were not transferred to Iran. At the same time, Syrian crews would be trained in their operation.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report Syrian president Bashar Assad will be invited to Moscow soon to finalize these plans in detail.
Military spokesmen in Moscow said Saturday and Sunday that Russian military planners to started redesigning the nation’s strategic plans for a fitting response to America’s decision to install 10 missile interceptors in Poland and the war developments in Georgia.
The chairman of the Israeli Knesset foreign affairs and defense committee, Tzahi Hanegbi, spoke out strongly Sunday, Aug. 17, against treasury plans to slash the defense budget. He warned that the military faced grave confrontations in the coming year – possibly on several fronts.

You see what that little brat, Saakashvili is about to unleash upon us. That very silly unthinking child! As for America, they are getting a serious dose of their own medicine. How long do they think they will hold out without cheap oil from the Caspian basin and the Mid-East? There are absolutely no quick fixes and the longer the drought occasioned by this impending Oil War persists the richer Russia/Iran is going to get from the resultant boom.
The American economy is already on its knees, Europe is crumbling and can barely get on its feet. All of America’s war clout is of no effect in this scenario (nuclear threats cancel each other out on both sides), George Bush has made sure there isn’t an iota of public support for America’s gallivanting forays into independent States and if any thing, folks are giggling their heads off at the ‘insane’ humiliation Russia is putting America through. It is clear to see who the actual losers are in this situation and it’s not going to get any better for them.
What does it really matter if Georgia joins NATO, Russia has been facing NATO all along-forget the pretenses to it being otherwise. NATO members are traditional opponents of Russia, individually, and all they have ever done is gang up against it. Now, it’s down to the skin and if America is not ready to strike that first nuclear blow, it better zip up and be quiet.

America is not as free as you might think or suggest. All its services are basically being handed over to the imigrants with the so called working class being taken to the woodshed with higher taxes, inflation, rising health care. You speak out and your put on the No fly list, you stand up and your called a racist, you dont pay your taxes and what you do have is your no more. There are a few of us out here that know whats going on but not enough to stand up and bring any change. Right now in my area the hispanics are taking over and are starting to rename streets, schools anything they can….i must say if the US stays its course there will not be a middle class and maybe not even an America as those gaining power over the next decade do not stand for traditional american values and it will be too late…..

This is a very dangerous game, I origin Sweden and no one would like to see the Cold War around us again, we had it for so many years next to our borders.
Why can not the People in The USA stand up and demand a change of the leaders/warlords that are putting everyone around the world at Risk.
Antimissile defense systems in Polen and also in Chzeck Repuplic both next to Russia, its like if Canada would work with Russian and allowing Russia to build similar on the borde to The USA.
Then to claim that this is to protect us from Iran, what a joke they should take a look on the map.
I simply dont understand: The power is with the people in each nation and not the leaders.
If the soldiers said no thanks no more…….
If we all the workers in different fields would simply would not show up to any work for 2 weeks to start with, the society would not work many hours and I guess then the leaders would have to listen to the people.
If we dont act against these war games that might blow us all up then we are all to blame.

Since the Bush Regime has scrapped the ABM treaty and places itself above all law, Russia should do what it damned well pleases and tell the ‘hegemon’ in Washington to get his military-style male whore to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine…that is if Jeff Gannon is still alive and turning tricks.
Russia needs to make every new aggression by the fascist powers as expensive and deadly as possible. The prospect of a glow-in-the-dark Tel Aviv will curb the Zionist appetite for war.

The governing by the people’s elected representatives is the way things are to supposed to be. But people choose a govt. career not so much to get a good pension, they are usually corrupt to a degree and if enough of them are in power, the people suffer. Voting them out will only put different corrupt people in office. Corruption does not appear to be in short supply.

At ‘rense.com’ there is word that Russia is distributing passports to inhabitants of the Crimea. Soros’s dogs in Kiev are, hopefully, going to get their due just like Saakashvili.
The Crimea is historically Russian. It was taken from the Golden Horde/Ottomans, who would launch slave-taking raids into the Slavic lands, by Russian arms and only in recent history awarded by administrative fiat of the old USSR to the Ukrainians.
The peace dividend promised at the end of the Cold War has been squandered many times over by the vile, corrupt animals in Washington–the dancing dogs of Wall Street and the City. Russia has dealt these insipid creatures a firm swat on the nose! Its time for Americans to stand on their hind legs and do likewise.
