not the subject at all! I can’t understand people here: they defend palestinians against colonisation and ethnic cleasings, but they defend Russia always guilty of genocides, manipulations, colonisation and invasions of Caucasus (and other neighbours). It’s an absolute paradox, a total contradiction: in fact people here are not defending palestine but just fighting US&jews, and don’t care about the victims. Just drived by frustrations…TALK ABOUT PEOPLE OF KAVKAZ, NOT ABOUT DOLLARS; or you’re just another ignorant opportunist manipulator.

Russian’s strategic interrests: invading or colonizing their neighbours. For example the case of south ossetia: the only russian nterrest in Samachablo is military, because it’s on the only road accross the great caucasus (5000-6000m high, 800km wide). It’s not in russian’s economic interrests to support the smuggler Kokoïty, of course smuggler because of that particular geographic situation, not in russian’s interrests because they don’t take benefits of transnational economic exchanges between southRussia and southcaucasus. And about ossets==>ancient steppic indo-iranian group still living on north caucasus inside the RUSSIAN republic of north-ossetia, some ossets searched refuge on the south of the great mountains because of russian invasions in 19th c: Samachablo in Georgia is the exit on the south of the only way to cross the mountains since ossetia(south russia). Stalin changed its name in south-ossetia after his invasion of georgia in 1921.
I hope people on this site will get more interest about history of Transdniestria, Abkhazia, Sotchi, Adjaria, genocides and ethnic cleansings in Caucasus commited by Russia or by it’s small caucasian puppets.

I don’t believe the US encouraged him to attack. I believe the US were setting Georgia up to be a blocking force meant to slow any Russian attempt to move forces to Iran in response to an attack.

Saakashvili got cocky though, after being told he could stop the Russians. That was never really expected, though. All the US/Israel wanted was for Georgia to be cannon fodder strong enough to slow the Russians, not stop or turn them back.

Now that plan is ruined, because even before this war Georgia could not have slowed the Russians much, but now they couldn’t slow them down if they tried – Russia can just plow on through to Iran, and THAT has the US/Israel shitting themselves.

Russia is ALSO building up forces there now, thanks to this stupid move by Saakashvili, and the response time will be even less, AND a significant Russian force has been bloodied and proven itself in combat, making them even MORE of a threat.

In my opinion the Iran attack has been at the least delayed, and possibly even called off altogether, thanks to Saakashvili – so I highly doubt either Israel or the US approved this boneheaded move.

The claims from the Russians otherwise is probably just posturing. Everyone knows the rules have just changed, and Russia has made it clear it will defend what it sees as its strategic interests, including Iran, and has the ability to do so, quickly and decisively.

Listening for a moment to Saakashvili on the news as he holds his empty rice bowl pleadingly to the West, hoping to have it filled with our largesse….he really sounded full of recriminations towards the US for not supporting him when his army turned tail and fled after they had exhausted the supply of civilian victims and were face to face with the Russian army….He sounded like– and his body language looked–like he was fighting back telling the world that we were the ones who sicced him on the South Ossetians.

I wonder if the Americans and Israelis will weep many tears when they liquidate him and blame his demise on those beastly Russians.
Like other criminals…they don’t respond well to the kind of crap that Saakashvili is dishing out. He has been very brash and unstable and having his cage rattled by the Russians has done nothing to strengthen his terminally flawed character.

It is indeed hard to believe that the sociopath, Saakashvili and his Israeli Defense Minister proceeded with the attack without the blessings of their masters in the US. Our tax dollars went to elect, arm and launch this fool on this murderous venture. Hundreds of Russian civilians have paid with their lives for this crime.

It is time to ‘pre-empt’ the swine in Washington before they make an even bigger, bloodier mischief in the world.
