Oh, that’s right, because I remember a Times correspondent saying he was standing on the road to Tblisi watching a huge Russian armoured column drive by waving Russian flags and shouting they were going to Tblisi.

Then the Georgian government said it was a Georgian convoy and that not only was it not Russian, but at the time there were no Russians in Gori!

It was a totally made up lie – there were either NO Russian flags, or the Georgians were PRETENDING to be Russian! Remember, they use the same vehicles, firearms, and in most cases, uniforms and can speak the same language. How would some dumbarse on the street be able to tell the difference?

Maybe that Georgian column was waving Russian flags to avoid being bombed to hell? Of course the retraction never made it into the media to anywhere NEAR the extent the original lie did.

I wonder why? Could it be because the APC’s were Georgian? You decide!

By the way, does anyone here know how close Gori is to Tskinvali? Its about 15-20km. Modern artillery can fire at least double that range. Is it any wonder the Russians would have to go deep into Georgia to knock these systems out?

maybe they already have the missile shield in georgia and are hiding it underground untill the agreement is finalised….
