Mike- I have heard that it’s cheaper to ship the Alaskan oil to the east than to send it south to the lower states. Don’t know it that is correct or why there are capped wells in Texas, or why we aren’t drilling farther offshore around the Gulf, or if we have indeed reached peak oil production. So, I ask questions.

OP is incorrect and needs to read more widely. most of Iranian oil is put into export and they have little comercial oil available to the common person due to a lack of refineries. subsequently the cost of domestic oil is high in Iran. Nuclear power was promoted by US to shah in 1967. Overall msg is that its OK if evil monarchists want domestisic nuclear power, but if evil shia’s want nuclear power than its game over man game over.
