Scientific Poll: Only 29% Of Americans Trust Mainstream Media
Record numbers say they distrust a media dominated by corporate interests

A new poll by the Pew Research Center has reveled that almost two thirds of Americans do not trust the mainstream media to deliver the truth, marking a 20+ year low.
63%, the vast majority of the over 1500 respondents to the survey, stated that the news media is dominated by special interests, rendering it biased and inaccurate.
When Pew first asked the question in 1985, the figure was 34%.
Now in 2009, just 29% say they trust the media to deliver straight facts.
The figures also represent a decline in trust in the media by a further 10% from 2007 numbers.
Perhaps this trend has something to do with the fact that the major networks, essentially owned by just five companies, have become little more than government mouthpieces.
Take ABC for example, the network that completely turned over its news coverage to the government for an Obama healthcare special last June, and excluded any dissenting opinions from airing.
The latest example of corporate media lies came this weekend as up to two million Americans protesting against unchecked federal government power was uniformly reported in the mainstream as a few thousand “teabaggers”.
It is not surprising that more people trust “fake” news programs such as The Daily Show and The Colbert Report than they do the mainstream media dinosaurs.
Neither is it a coincidence that newspaper sales and broadcasters’ audiences are rapidly declining as people turn to the alternative media and the internet.

Indeed. When these polls are conducted, two sets of information are generated — a public version and a private version. The public version goes to the people, and the private version goes to the elites.
Who do you think pays Pew Research to conduct the research? The elites! Or, one of their affiliates/minions.
The real number is probably south of 29%. They have to pad the numbers as an aid to placating the masses and mind control

It is too high actually because of the sample set they use in the polling, they vet respondents by being registered to vote, how much TV they watch and the general familiarity with the corporate media. Basically they are counting 29% of the folks who watch it regularly. If you survey a cross section of all Americans it is closer to 5%. When they lose my mother that have lost it rest, she was one of last die-hards.

Well, regardless of whether it’s 29%, 19% or 39%, I find it disturbing that the same people who say that they don’t trust mainstream media, GET their information FROM the mainstream media, and then base their opinions from, OF WHICH they then debate what is going on in the world, or, denounce those who know what is going on as being crazy conspiracy theorist. However, when you attempt to have an intellectual debate with some of these people, it is clear they know nothing of what is going on other than what is being spoon fed to them from the TV.
The writing is on the wall, and the information is out there. You can show these people some of these videos of people coming clean with what they know, losing their job because they didn’t go along with the “game plan”, etc. And they will still question the authenticity, but they will then turn on Bill O’reilly and believe what this jack ass spews. These people are completely out of touch with what is going on, and it is complete lunacy.
These people are so stupid, that they will reject the notion of a new world order, regardless of that it has been mentioned now since Bush Sr., and they will reject the notion of the eventual loss of liberty giving complete control to the government, and then WHEN IT HAPPENS, while you think they will GET IT, they will go along with the reasons of “SAFETY” that is told to them, to give up more liberty. Can you get any more stupid then that? COMPLETELY BRAINWASHED!!!…..AND ultimately a hazard to MY and all others freedom. It’s as if they expect the president to come on one day to say, “Hi folks, we are now a fascist state, have a nice day” in order for them to believe it. And they still might not get it.

Mainstream media’s “news” isn’t trusted because there is no “news”. The corporate media have fired anybody that was any good as a journalist because they would have impeded the corporation’s lust for the buck. (Number one rule of our current system of government: you have to get rid of the good ones first)
Also, there is no real “news” in the current MSM. Take a look at the Washington Post and see how much actual news is in the paper. Over 90% of the time the Washington Post carries nothing but opinion, editorial rhetoric, endless “what if” imaginary pieces, and meaningless fluff pieces, but rarely any news. The problem is that the retarded American public doesn’t know the difference.
Case in point, we just had at least 100k people marching and protesting in DC about Obama and the crappy government he’s touting, and we didn’t hear a thing; but, Michael Jackson keels over and it’s on the front pages for a month. The sickness that has become America has many roots, but one of the tap-roots is the selling out of journalism for the quick buck.

There is no honest reporting to be found on television at all and you know it’s not just the news shows that are the problem. There are dramatic series like 24 and made for TV movies and documentaries all obviously trying to mold public opinion to accept the direction that the power elite want to take us. In the run-up to the Iraq invasion, even Al Michaels, the football announcer was offering his pentagon stenography, demonizing Iraq and Saddam Hussein in between calling the play-by-play. That’s about the time I checked out completely from the MSM.

I knew that Americans weren’t that stupid. Why would people watch something that has become a mouthpiece for the highest bidder. I don’t know because I have been paying my cable bill that helps support it. Speaking of cable bills. I pay a little over a $100 dollars a month for high speed cable and basic cable. I only have one provider which is Cox cable from Ft. Smith Ar. I wish there was some competition with cable companies to bring down prices. Like I have said before, I will drop cable tv this month. I bitch at all the News channels when I watch them anyway. They bring up my stress level because I know they don’t care about what I and most other people think. It seems like they are a propaganda campaign all of the time now days. They want us to jump around between CNN,Fox,and MSNBC, as if they were trying to cause division among us. No more for me. High speed internet is $54 here. Is everybody have high cable and internet like that?

I just watched the movie titled “Tucker: A Man and His Dream” Last night. I really enjoyed it because it is a great example of corporate greed and corporate-controlled media using black-propaganda (lies) to squash the American dream.
What I took away from the film was that it was extremely easy for MSM in those days to manipulate the truth and control the people. The tactics used by the corporations in controlling the people are still being used today, but with the explosion of information via the internet and alternative media, MSM and their flat out lies have been exposed to the masses, and the masses aren’t buying it anymore. This is why all the newspapers are failing and networks such as Completely Not News and Faux News are losing viewers by the droves.
I implore you, if you would like to see a great analogy about what is going on today, go watch that movie.

So, just curious, what happened to Charlie Sheen? Here we are, about one week later, and the truth movement is in the same shape as it was before “20mwtp.” I’m sorry Alex and Charlie, but that was a very pathetic attempt to further the movement. At the most, 20mwtp only got about 2 minutes of coverage on one T.V. program, and most people more than likely already forgot about it or don’t give a rat’s ass about it. How was that the best thing you have ever done? When are you going to do something that will progress the truth movement? The scary thing about the English language (one of the reasons it is so difficult to master) is that the same word has many definitions depending on the context of its use. In addition to this, other words that mean close to but not exactly can be used in place of such word. In doing this corporate “portrait painters/writers” manipulate the meanings within the context of sentences to sway the pre-established perceptions of these words that we have assimiliated into our minds. This allows for the press to say “10s of thousands” of protesters showed up instead of the actual amount (which is moot). I say though, isn’t their 10’s of thousands of “thousands” in a million? So are the corporate shills wrong in stating this…nope they have just watered down the truth! This will continue to happen because of the advertising revenue that is dangled over the head of the mainstream media corporations and their masters.
I believe it was Edward R. Murrow who warned us of the dangers of television and radio long ago when he was quoted saying:
“We are currently wealthy, fat, comfortable and complacent. We have currently a built-in allergy to unpleasant or disturbing information. Our mass media reflect this. But unless we get up off our fat surpluses and recognize that television in the main is being used to distract, delude, amuse and insulate us, then television and those who finance it, those who look at it and those who work at it, may see a totally different picture too late.”

The warnings have been shouted long ago of what is to come…the scary thing is that our backs are to the wall and the wall is fast approaching…the thing is we keep taking baby steps backwards because most of us are not stupid….we realize we must be united (in atleast our hearts) against a one world government!
