Scientist: Holographic television to become reality

LONDON, England (CNN) — Picture this: you’re sat down for the Football World Cup final, or a long-awaited sequel to the “Sex and the City” movie and you’re watching all the action unfold in 3-D on your coffee table.
It sounds a lot like a wacky dream, but don’t be surprised if within our lifetime you find yourself discarding your plasma and LCD sets in exchange for a holographic 3-D television that can put Cristiano Ronaldo in your living room or bring you face-to-face with life-sized versions of your gaming heroes.
The reason for renewed optimism in three-dimensional technology is a breakthrough in rewritable and erasable holographic systems made earlier this year by researchers at the University of Arizona.

Dr Nasser Peyghambarian, chair of photonics and lasers at the university’s Optical Sciences department, told CNN that scientists have broken a barrier by making the first updatable three-dimensional displays with memory.
“This is a prerequisite for any type of moving holographic technology. The way it works presently is not suitable for 3-D images,” he said.
The researchers produced displays that can be erased and rewritten in a matter of minutes.

I was wondering about this ,about 15 years ago. I was at sea world in san diego and they had one of the first prototypes of a holographic tv it was amazing it was in the penguin cage and it was a documentary on that animal. I remember then thinking that this was the future of television.Like watching a football game on this holographic tv and actually seeing the whole stadium , and seeing the players actually on the feild as if you were in a Blimp watching it from above .The only problem was that the holographic tv in sea world was huge and required projectors being placed all over the room and didnt have a clear picture at the time but it’s been 15 years now and i’m sure tecnology has gotten better.Imagine watching the N.W.O. take over America and storm the streats of America while watching countless people being taken to DNC camps ,and being injected with RFID chips and and subjected to all kinds of crimes against humanity ,on your brand new Holographic Television, scary and amazing jk.

3 where did you get the information that Dr Nasser Peyghambarian was Iranian? I goggled him and I found nothing of his nationality. Disinformation by us in particular is not going to help our cause.

WTF? We’ve had ‘holographic’ media since the ’50’s! When I was a kid in the ’70’s they made some horror movies with it 2, like ‘Jaws 3D’ – whatever! The reason nobody pushes it is there is it doubles the shooting cost & also cuts into the profits because of the glasses U must distribute. U can even get ‘holographic’ on TV – with the ‘red/blue’ variety (different from the better up/down vs. left/right polarization glasses in the better 3D movies
& of course, U could just project through an LCD or something mimicking that ‘interference pattern’ which is all a ‘hologram’ is. This is just like those wanks pitching the ‘3D scanning technology’ 4 ‘room capture’ – um…. no, don’t use a camera with lenses apart – just scan every friggin pixel separately with a laser beam?
It’s called CORPORATE WELFARE SCAM BULLSH*T! This technology has existed for 60 friggin’ years. People don’t wanna’ pay 4 it – so it doesn’t get pitched N E more – end of story! Go 2 an IMAX movie or something I guess

Good Grief. They’re such reductionist idiots. What the hell are your eyes for but to view the most perfect analogue 3D view of beautiful planet that those weasel brained twats will never replicate. And if that’s not enough learn to Lucid Dream. It’s amazing and renders all their stupid video technology back to the stone age. But then that’s the irony. But I’m sure the sheople will lap it up.But where are they going to get the credit from the replace their huge f*ck-off” plasma screens TV’s.

However much we are getting excited about new technologies, it’s worth remembering where it comes from? how many can recall the ufo or rather IFO that was shot down by US army around area 51? well ‘their’ technologies have been reversed engineered ever since and Voila as the French say, yet we believe our scientists are so clever. Wrong!!! just ask some astronauts what they saw in space. And in case you think its scary, dont worry they are absolutely harmless and peaceful and in fact they are our ancestors who look just like you and I but their evolution is hundreds of years ahead because they dont follow cult religion like earth people do and are trying to show us the meaning of life by learning to observe Creation/ Mother earth. For Spirituality is truly the science of the consciousness, it is physics and science as a unit and we as humans must begin to explore all levels of thinking, not merely the material level which is greedy and selfish and negative in general.
