Scientist Predicts Ice Age Within 10 Years
University of Mexico expert says lack of solar activity to cause significant cooling that will last over half a century

As evidence builds of the earth entering a dramatic cooling trend, another scientist has gone public with his conviction that we are about to enter a new ice age, rendering warnings about global warming fraudulent and irrelevant.
Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera of the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Mexico states that “In about ten years the Earth will enter a “little ice age” which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity,” according to a report in the major Mexican newspaper Milenio Diario.
Herrera slammed the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) stance on global warming as “erroneous” because of their failure to factor in the impact of solar activity.

The models and forecasts of the IPCC “is incorrect because only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity,” said Herrera.
Herrera states that the earth is entering a natural phase of climate transition during which solar activity will diminish considerably, “so that in two years or so, there will be a small ice age that lasts from 60 to 80 years.”
Herrera cited the growth in glaciers observed at the Andes, Perito Moreno, Logan, the highest mountain in Canada, and Franz-Josef Glacier, New Zealand.
A dramatic cooling trend is being observed across the planet even as people like Al Gore continue to claim that the threat of global warming mandates the poor and middle class be hit with CO2 taxes in order to prevent climate change.
Both anecdotal evidence and hard data indicates that the planet is in the beginning stages of a significant downturn in global temperatures.
Following the end of the Sun’s most active period in over 11,000 years, the last 10 years have displayed a clear cooling trend as temperatures post-1998 leveled out and are now plummeting.
China recently experienced its coldest winter in 100 years while northeast America was hit by record snow levels and Britain suffered its coldest April in decades as late-blooming daffodils were pounded with hail and snow on an almost daily basis. The British summer has also left many yearning for global warming, with temperatures in June and July rarely struggling to get over 16 degrees and on one occasion even dropping as low as 9 degrees in the middle of the afternoon.
“Summer heat continues in short supply, continuing a trend that has dominated much of the 21st Century’s opening decade,” reports the Chicago Tribune. “There have been only 162 days 90 degrees or warmer at Midway Airport over the period from 2000 to 2008. That’s by far the fewest 90-degree temperatures in the opening nine years of any decade on record here since 1930.”
The reason? Sunspot activity has dwindled. There have only been a handful of days in the past two months where any sunspot activity has been observed and over 400 spotless days have been recorded in the current solar cycle.
“The sun’s surface has been fairly blank for the last couple of years, and that has some worried that it may be entering another Maunder minimum, the sun’s 50-year abstinence from sunspots, which some scientists have linked to the Little Ice Age of the 17th century,” reports one science blog.
Since the sun, and not carbon dioxide, is the principle driver of climate change, a dearth of sunspot activity would herald a repeat of the Maunder Minimum, the name given to the period roughly from 1645 to 1715, when sunspots became exceedingly rare and contributed to the onset of the Little Ice Age during which Europe and North America were hit by bitterly cold winters and the Thames river in London completely froze.
Long-time man-made global warming advocates NASA assure us that significant sunspot activity will return in 2012, but a recent a paper on recent solar trends by William Livingston and Matthew Penn of the National Solar Observatory in Tucson, predicts that sunspots will all but vanish after 2015.
As we reported last week, the Armagh observatory, which has been measuring sun cycles for over 200 years. predicts that global temperatures will drop by two degrees over the next 20 years as solar activity grinds to a halt and the planet drastically cools down, potentially heralding the onset of a new ice age.
“Based on the past Armagh measurements, this suggests that over the next two decades, global temperatures may fall by about 2 degrees C — that is, to a level lower than any we have seen in the last 100 years….”Temperatures have already fallen by about 0.5 degrees C over the past 12 months and, if this is only the start of it, it would be a serious concern,” concludes David Watt.

Even if you forget the politics of ‘global warming’, it makes good sense for people like this to go out on a limb, so to speak. Why? Because this kind of predictive science is nothing but a giant sweepstake, with too many people betting on the same outcome at this time. Given that in truth, anything may happen, betting on a unpopular choice will pay major dividends for his future, if his choice wins. In a raffle, you are better off being the lone owner of a ticket, rather than sharing the number with thousands of others.
Of course, it is a disgrace that weather trend science has been reduced to a weekend at Las Vegas. In ten years time, the weather patterns on the Earth will have gone one way or another, and the so called scientists that GUESSED closest will be called geniuses! What a joke!

I think it is too early to jump on either bandwagon. I do not agree with the global warming theorists; yet, I do not think that this should be taken that seriously either.
The earth, it seems, moves in cycles. While we’ve experienced record highs in years past, we have sort of leveled off in the past couple of years. This could be the start of a down trend, but 2°!!!!! We’re not talking about the end of the world. I realize this is yearly trends; alas, here in Alabama our average for the year is 75 for the high and 55 for the low. “Here’s looking at 73 and 53″

In Plasma Cosmology/Electric Universe Theory, this was already predicted. Since the sun is powered by external flows of plasma. There is no thermonuclear reaction in the centre of the sun, it’s just a big ball of rock like we are. Except it’s the largest ball of rock and therefore has the most surface area and mass to hold a charge.
As the currents which power the galaxy slow, and the currents which power the stars get weaker, sun spots decrease as they are where the Plasma’s magnetic fields get twisted up as it tries to deal with an overabundance of current on it’s surface.
Look it up and stop believing these idiots who claim “gravity is the most powerful force in the universe”. Cause it’s 14,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times weaker than Electromagnetic effects.

I’ll stick with the Mayans. What about 2012 when the Earth, Sun and Moon with be aligned and pointing in to a black hole in the center of the galaxy. The Mayans gave us this date and information thousands of years ago and our scientists have only just discovered this fact. According to the Mayans, this will lead to catastrophes in weather etc. due to the pull of the black hole on our sun. So, who knows? I’ve just been told that the Mayan solar calendar is still more accurate than any we can come up with today. I think our scientists are all over the map on this one and we just don’t know, not to mention the fact that we don’t always know who’s been paid to say a certain thing.

I recommend an excellent novel about this very subject – The Last Centurion, by John Ringo. It’s just on the shelves now. Set in the near future, it deals with the consequences of a global pandemic coupled with global cooling. Written as a blog by an army captain, it has action and a lot of social insight. It’s just a shame that the public “fool” system doesn’t educate anyone very well anymore! What was it that “Earth Sciences” taught us in school? THE ONLY THING CONSTANT ON THIS EARTH IS “CHANGE”!
The climate change cult seems to forget this rather conveniently.
I used to be fascinated with things such as Dinosaurs, Crinoids, Brachiopods, and the like. What impressed me most: The fact of their extinctions being related to some “change” here on Earth at some particular “time”. It all became clear to me, at the tender age of eight, that there were changes that occurred at certain “periods” on Earth that would be largely responsible for the mass extinctions. Our Earth has for many Millions ( maybe about 4.5 billion years ) of years gone through drastic changes in geology, topography, and climatology that were strongly rooted to the massive extinctions.
You had the 130 million-year cycles,
65 million-year cycles,
30 – 35 million-year cycles,
200 thousand-year cycles,
11,500 – 12,500-year cycles,
and many 5,000 – 6,000-year cycles.
We are PAST DUE for the 11,500 to 12,500 periodic climate shift! We should expect to see something relating to the 11.5 to 12.5 shift towards that scale of an ice age. Not fear-mongering, mind you. Just a natural fact! No sense worrying unless you are not prepared to deal with Nature. That is why Nature’s motto has always been: “Change with me or perish!” Smarter, cooler heads will prevail if they wish to survive this “super-natural” test! Nature knows no politics, because Nature is ABOVE politics!
The glaring facts that remain are:
The IPCC’s report(s) on climate change disregard the geological facts about the Earth’s regular, cyclical climate and other changes,
The UNFCCC similarly ignores the Earth’s OWN RECORDS,
Governments and the “big corporations” profit more by these falsehoods and foisting them on a gullible public,
The NGO’s that are involved, profit from the government subsidies and corporate payoffs to continue the AGW myths,
Nature is weighing in, once again, that the so-called ‘experts’ of AGW are not only wrong, but also are not at all scientific in their approach to the ‘facts’,
And finally, anyone with a truly functional and rational mind, buoyed by a scientific curiosity can come up with more rational answers than politics!
Politics doesn’t care about the facts. Politics is purely about power and control of the masses, to ANY extent! The job of today’s media is to destroy and disavow the truth! Alex and Paul have once again given us the tools to fight the mass-deception surrounding ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming – Climate Change – or whatever excuse’ that the control-freaks would like to continue.

I find your website the best summary of the Global Warming versus Global Cooling debate. I don’t agree with Chris or Damian, keep up the great journalism. The alternative side of this debate needs to be heard too. Right or wrong only time and more research will tell.

Yea Alex is CIA and they are going to arresst all of his 100,000+ llisteners and forum users. @UB40 If cutting down Tree’s for saving oxygen was a serious problem they would legalize hemp in the U.S. That is a false arguement there is plenty of plants,air and c02 and none of these things have anything to do with Climate Change. C02 charts have shown that historically C02 Goes up after, Not before Global Warming Cycles. This information dates way back before the industrial revolution and disproves the loudacris ManMade C02 GlobalWarming theory as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Alex Jones was working for the NWO… Remember, ALL politicians and military men are expendable! Even if EVERYONE directly involved in 911 were arrested and executed, it wouldn’t change a thing, because the role of the media in the NWO plan is actually MORE important than the role of the government. He defends the media on the issue of 911 tv fakery, which is virtually established fact at this point. Watch the september clues videos and you’ll see what im talking about. I wish to address a couple of topics with this post.
I think it was in the final years of the 1970’s that Global Warming first really hit the Main stream media with headlines screaming that half the planet as we know would be under water by the turn of the century. The polar ice caps would be gone and the planet would be nearly impossible to live on. The theory has been around since the late 1880’s (even during last few years of the last mini ice age) but received very little publicity at the time. I think that at the time, the fact that people were skating on the Thames River in London may have lead to some skepticism.
About a hundred years later Margaret Thacker was elected as the Prime Minister of England and needed something to give her credibility on the world stage. She also needed a reason to close the coal mines of England to both curb the power of the unions and to increase the nuclear capability of England. She wanted to have the country using nuclear electrical generation as well as introduce the Trident missile program. At every international meeting she raised the subject until the world leaders finally agreed to look into it mainly to shut her up and have her stop disrupting the meetings. After that it was next to impossible to get Government funding for any research project unless it mentioned global warming. It has now grown to be not only a whole industry in its own right but close to being a religion.
Incidentally, as she was promoting global warming the science community was warming of another ice age.
Over the years I have read maybe one thousand reports both pro and con produced by this industry. My first conclusion is that we just don’t know what will really happen. The weather is dynamic and constantly changing. As for the warming that has been reported, isn’t it natural that the global temperature is to increase after all we are coming out of a mini ice age. Ice age either major or minor by definition is cold. The real question is how much warming will we have.
The planet needs carbon dioxide for plant growth. With an increase in the global population we need crops to have optimum conditions to feed us. Give these optimum conditions we just don’t know how many people can be successfully fed. By the way the period of most prolific plant growth in the history of the planet was during the Jurassic Period when Carbon Dioxide levels were about 4000 parts per million (currently the level is about 350 ppm) and that lead to largest land animals ever known.
If the planet is in fact heading for another cooler period as is indicated, will we get an apology from the AGW advocates or will they just crawl under the nearest rock.
The other topic I wish to address is the freedom of speech. Having the right to freely express your self does not allow you to threaten or impugn any other person. This forum is not the place to advocate the killing of somebody just because you disagree with their views.
Alex Jones is only one person and as such is the spokesperson for the crew that work with and for him behind the scene to provide the information that we all read, or hear on his radio shows. They have the right, no the legal obligation to block or remove any material that contravenes any law either statute or moral laws that could have repercussions on them as the owners of this forum. This does include the obligation to pass on any names (if known) of those who persistently offend.
I do not always agree with him on a whole range of topics but that is life. Hell it would be a very dull world if we all agreed with each other all the time.
I see this forum as venue for information not always cover by the MSM or is misreported by it. If it stimulates debate all the better.

Almost out of drinking water in my tank here on a plateau in N.S.W. Australia.What amazes me sometimes about our country,isn’t being Green Activists,but the muddleheaded politics of the country,where as advantaged people in that,most of them prior to Government were university educated,and seem completely unable to grasp most of the time they really know nothing.And waste an incredible amount of time.If our Greens here can no longer believe what they were accepting,it was slow to move back to truth for wanting not to be these muddleheads.Some time back I put up this idea that maybe bales ,perhaps sourced without seed in them ,could be placed before the snow fall every winter where there was a possibility of these bales encouraging a more rapid flow of melted snow to go into our much troubled Murray River which is a large food belt contributary,not at all like major rivers of the U.S.A. Some research would needed to be done,that a sort of hayshed barriers out in the snowlines would concentrate the snow towards flowing in a more human and ecologically precise manner elsewhere.But those who control the electricity flow from the melted flows are nongs who have been seeding clouds,and, there is deafening silence on wether they can claim that has been useful.Nong Professionals,who now are embarked on major concrete dam construction in Queensland.To be Green is the only real option against nongness,although,I hope soon someone will do some research that can paint some scenarios re climate change as little ice age.Soon !Real soon.

An Ice Age would put huge crimpers on the NWO and its plans. People would be forced to rely on themselves and establish local communites for survival. Governments around the world would contract as well as national economies. National wars for corporations would all but end as no countries would finance the debts to pay for them anymore. People might actually start thinking about what really makes them fullfilled in life, big cars, houses, TV’s, etc, or hard work, families, producing something of value.

U.S. scientists who have attempted to report the impending mini-iceage have been summarily silenced by their associated universities or government programs. The Mexican scientist is right.
In all probability Al Gore and his compadres know this…and they will use gradually lowering temperatures as “proof” that the world-wide U.N. enforced anti-global warming efforts are a tremendous success.

PEOPLE: Get over your hang-up over the term “global warming” Watch the Hollywood fictional movie “The Day After Tomorrow” and understand that a few degrees of warming equal a shift in the planet;s overall climate structure. The deep freeze of the movie maybe was an exaggeration in time and scope–but, what if it wasn’t? Think in terms of the term “Global Climate Change” and realize that melting Polar Ice Caps are NOT the norm. If some Scientist around the world have concluded that the crap that comes out of our petroleum based vehicles rise up into the atmosphere, and disturb the fragile balance of chemicals, why would you not want to consider an alternative way of getting around the planet? Unless, of course, you own stock in the Oil Companies.

Changes in Perception
Regarding the changes in perception taking place in the world today throughout all consciousness, one must ride the wave with all the excitement and joy one can muster. This is a natural effect of having a sense of self and the changes that are already being experienced right now will grow in magnitude because as our perception grows so too will our knowing and understanding of this place, on all levels and dimensions.
The ignorance of these beautiful and wonderful changes will soon become difficult to ignore, especially for those who have their heads in the sand and because the studies and homework haven’t been done, the results will produce panic, fear and anxiety. Those who have not taken this journey into selfhood, for whatever reason, will have a startling and shaking wake-up call once the bubble bursts, and it’s just round the corner!
This is simple physics really. Dirt and grime will accumulate if not cleared with a clean cloth.
Therefore it is vitally important for those who have a sense of self and are “awake” to help all our fellow sisters and brothers through these times. Many have come for many reasons, rushing forward with huge enthusiasm, volunteering to be here for these trying times.
Remember who you are, remember where you are and then remember what you can do to facilitate these trying times. Follow your heart and remember the agreements and good laughs. Aye that is right, welcome back friend

The problem with AGW is the name and this should be a serious wake up call to even the densest of brains among us. Unfortunately, I haven’t read, seen, or heard of anything yet which suggests that our brains are not shrinking to a singularity and so I will suggest the following and this is in hopes that many of us here will remember constantly that which we all should be aware: propaganda and the forces behind it.
With a little thought (very little in fact) a critical thinker might see quite clearly where a simple label (not that AGW IS a simple label but RATHER it has been LABELED SIMPLY – obviously a result [in part at least] to the consensus of beliefs among those in control that WE are a simple population with limited intellect). Even if one takes away the 1st part of the label and thus half of the argument (anthropogenic AKA caused by humans) one may have eliminated half of the naysayers (to the cheers of billion dollar industrialists no less), however, one is still left with GW. When considering just this article’s context and many like it concerning an apparent lack of sunspot activity resulting in decreases in temperatures, it becomes evident that the discussion of c02 emissions (the REAL and ONLY name or label to which this discussion should be known and to which CANNOT be rationally denied to BE human related ever since the industrial revolution) and their effects on the environment WHEN LABELED “global warming” can be plausibly and thus easily denied.

Are some of us so completely brain dead as to not deduce from the above statement (the first of the article) that what is being asserted is complete common sense and should be taken as common knowledge? Do we actually need to be told as we herald in the 21st century something so simple? Of course global WARMING will be rendered fraudulent and irrelevant if the earth COOLS DOWN. To think otherwise would be completely against any and all laws of thermodynamics. What is NOT rendered fraudulent and irrelevant is the fact that man made c02 emissions continue to deplete our atmosphere in greater numbers and to the applause of government and industry (are they NOT partners in this struggle against us? PLEASE make up your minds NOW once and for all), however, when it is OMITTED (as it has been) from discussion and in all public consciousness then this fact might as well also be rendered fraudulent and irrelevant. The genius and brain in this partnership (government) has you believing in only 2 choices (global warming and taxes OR global warming hoax and a continuation of atmospheric depletion) while the body (industry) just dangles there and spews forth its wastes into the sky.
These scientific studies are pure junk. It does not matter what side of the AGW fence you are on because like so many here will say, “AGW is a hoax”. IT IS A HOAX but what is so sad is that it is a hoax because you have been led to believe in (once again) paying for a name. If you have children then you should be imagining them when they have children and when they will be making the same types of decisions you need to start making now. If not for them, then for their grandchildren if you are arrogant enough to believe all will be okay so many generations down the line. Will you continue to breed naivete like so many among us do just because someone sitting in a think tank and on the payroll of mega-corporations has decided to fool you and avert the discussion with a nonsensical label?

by the way “period” or shall i say “.”, my theory on global warming based on statistical graphs is that sunspots release rays the block out outside cosmic rays. these outside cosmic rays usually bombard earth and have an effect of creating clouds that keep the earth cooler by reflecting the suns rays. when the sunspots abundant they emit rays the block out these cosmic rays preventing them for creating as many clouds. i hope this helps clarify things a little more.

A letter to the Belfast Telegraph, published on 2008 August 13th (link) has been picked up by other sites who give the impression that it represents the views of the Armagh Observatory. We do not know of any evidence based on Armagh observations (whether solar or meteorological) that predicts an imminent drop in global temperatures of two degrees C, nor do we know the author of the letter to the Belfast Telegraph. You have shown once again that Paul Watson is a LYING bastard. As for this Mexican “scientist”. He refers to the Franz Josef Glacier as evidence that Global Cooling is happening. The reality is, that due to its position, increased snowfall caused by higher atmospheric water vapour, itself due to Global Warming, has increased the size of Franz Josef Glacier. All of the OTHER glaciers in New Zealand are SHRINKING dramatically.
This is why you can’t look at LOCAL conditions, which are affected by WEATHER, as proof one way or another. If One glacier grows, but all other shrink, the one that grows does not prove that the world is cooling. In fact, it is growing BECAUSE the world is warming, not despite it! Warmer atmospheric temperatures lead to higher water vapour concentration which in turn can lead to higher rainfall in warm localities or higher snowfall in cold localities. The same CAUSE can have different EFFECTS.
Franz Josef Glacier is on the western side of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, and the local conditions lead to higher snowfall, on the eastern side the local conditions lead to LOWER snowfall, and thus those glaciers are in full retreat.
That is why this “scientist” doesn’t deserve the title! First he is a geophysicist, but thinks he can tell both solar physicist AND climatologists they are wrong! He knows next to nothing about THOSE fields, and yet thinks he can lecture the people who make those fields their primary study about their fields?
It’s like a climatologist attempting to tell a neurologist how to diagnose brain damage! It is utter rubbish, and thus this retarded “scientist” should be ignored (if not actually fired for being an idiot).

Yeah Paul……. I would love to hear a response to that. However I figured Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera of the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Mexico would have some sort of “degree”? Although a Mexican degree makes a good burrito I hear, depends on how ya roll it… I think. But seriously, I’ve heard countless doomsday theories and a lot of them sound credible. They can’t all be right can they? So what’s left? I think we should pick our favorite apocalyptic scenario and write it down on a piece of paper. Then fold it up and stick it in your pocket. Next we can go to the FEMA camps and pick out our Tupperware coffin the government made for us with our money. Then climb in it and wait. In the end Paranoia will be what kills humanity! Whether it is our paranoia or our dysfunction government’s paranoia, were all just as screwed! Accept it with dignity and grace. Besides those who have shelters and are stockpiling our food really get sick of hearing our whining. Everyone agrees there are too many poor and stupid people on the planet, and they really gots ta gooo! It’s not their fault they were born better than us. Actually, it is not scare mongering, it is CLEAR evidence that Watson KNOWN that AGW is real and a threat and that the science proves it, so instead of simply continuing to lie about that, he has changed tacks and is now in the “it doesn’t matter anyway because Global Cooling will save us”.
He will say ANYTHING but admit that the elites are driving this anti-AGW bullshit in a last ditch attempt to prevent US, the people of the world, from becoming energy independent. They DON’T control us with their “stormtroopers”, they control us with our addiction to fossil fuel and the electricity it is used to generate. THAT is what Watson doesn’t want you to realise.
We have the technologies to be FREE of this elite control, but Watson has never mentioned such technologies even ONCE in his “Science & Technology” section. There are plenty of articles about killer robots and laser cannons, but not one about Solar and battery breakthroughs. Even if you DON’T believe in AGW, such technology would go a long way to fighting the elites and their oil wars, so why not one mention?

The problem is not where he got his degree, but what he got his degree in. Herrera is a Remote Sensing Systems specialist, not a climatologist or Solar physicist. People don’t seem to understand that science is a HUGE subject, and it takes years to become proficient in just one small area of it. What Herrera is doing is like being a gynecologist and felling qualified to dispute the latest research in neurology.
That is what basically every one of the liars and deniers are – “scientists” with no background at all in CLIMATE SCIENCE, telling CLIMATE SCIENTISTS they’re wrong! Hell this guy hits all the bases, not only disputing climate science but even solar physics!

how ignorant and low to criticize a scientist for being mexican as if they are an inferior people. quit acting like a child. this article is based of factual information about solar activity. it is comparing the solar activity of today with that of what happened in the late 17th century, then saying that the climate may follow suit as well. and what you get your degree in does not identify a person’s talent, its just a piece of paper. if he works closely with physicists and climatologists he could have easily picked up their skills. i know a guy who never got a degree but was promoted to an engineer in a company because he was carrying out all the work of an engineer, and he did that by picking up skills on the way not by getting a piece of paper that said he could do it.

The “Little Ice Age” WASN’T an Ice Age, and even in the worst case scenario, the cooling that happened then would only take us back to pre-Global Warming temperatures, and even then for only 50 years. The two are not even remotely similar. Engineers don’t discover NEW things, they apply the knowledge learned by REAL SCIENTISTS. For example, there are Nuclear Physicists, that work out HOW atoms work, and there are Nuclear Engineers that use that knowledge to DO something. An Engineer is NOT a scientist!
Building and running a nuclear reactor is NOTHING like DISCOVERING the atom can be split.

So, ten lies… in fact pretty much everything he SAID in the article was a lie. Let’s address them one at a time.
1) The average temperature has CLIMBED by 0.1 Degree per decade over the last decade.
“A simple mathematical calculation of the temperature change over the latest decade (1998-2007) alone shows a continued warming of 0.1 °C per decade. The warming trend can be seen in the graph of observed global temperatures. The red bars show the global annual surface temperature, which exhibit year-to-year variability. 2) In fact temperatures in 2007 were high enough to put it in the top ten hottest years on record, and were MUCH higher than 1930. See the graph on the page linked to above.
3) Intentional fudging of the facts. He mentions WEATHER events, which are a RESULT of CLIMATE. None of them actually meant 2007 was exceptionally cold GLOBALLY. As the graph above shows.
4) He straight up says that such single year data can not tell you anything about climate, but then says that based on that single year and another lie, that he CAN say something about climate. A clear lie.
5) It all depends on your definition of “soon after”. Also here is a little information on what the REAL solar scientists had been predicting:
“March 6, 2006
BOULDER—The next sunspot cycle will be 30-50% stronger than the last one and begin as much as a year late, according to a breakthrough forecast using a computer model of solar dynamics developed by scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).”
“The Predictive Flux-transport Dynamo Model is enabling NCAR scientists to predict that the next solar cycle, known as Cycle 24, will produce sunspots across an area slightly larger than 2.5% of the visible surface of the Sun. The scientists expect the cycle to begin in late 2007 or early 2008, which is about 6 to 12 months later than a cycle would normally start. Cycle 24 is likely to reach its peak about 2012.”

That was TWO YEARS before this article was written by Chapman. Why did he not mention that it started EXACTLY as predicted and that the prediction says this will be a STRONGER than usual cycle? It’s pretty clear that he didn’t because he was LYING.
6) In fact there were solar minima nearly twice as long as this one less than a century ago:
“Although minima are a normal aspect of the solar cycle, some observers are questioning the length of the ongoing minimum, now slogging through its 3rd year.
“It does seem like it’s taking a long time,” allows Hathaway, “but I think we’re just forgetting how long a solar minimum can last.” In the early 20th century there were periods of quiet lasting almost twice as long as the current spell. (See the end notes for an example.) Most researchers weren’t even born then.”

Make sure to look at the graphs at the bottom where you see that this solar minimum is shorter than one in 1933.
7) Solar Cycle 24 did NOT fail to begin on schedule. In fact a prediction in 2006 said it would start in late 2007 / early 2008, which is exactly when it started, as even Chapman admits. But that is not the only lie. 2007 was HOTTER than 2001, even though 2001 was the solar MAXIMUM. How can a weakening Sun be cause for both cooling AND heating?
9) Is a lie of omission. 430,000 years ago an interglacial started that lasted 28,000 years. Interestingly that is the interglacial that most closely resembles the current one. If Chapman had mentioned this, his attempt to make this one sound like it is unprecedented would have been exposed, and would have indicated that in actuality, even without human intervention this interglacial may well last thousands of years more.
“he transition from glacial to interglacial conditions about 430,000 years ago (Termination V) resembles the transition into the present interglacial period in terms of the magnitude of change in temperatures and greenhouse gases, but there are significant differences in the patterns of change. The interglacial stage following Termination V was exceptionally long-28,000 years compared to, for example, the 12,000 years recorded so far in the present interglacial period. Given the similarities between this earlier warm period and today, our results may imply that without human intervention, a climate similar to the present one would extend well into the future.”

10) for the ice to be “overdue” would mean that we can predict the beginning of an Ice Age based on previous conditions. As said above the previous conditions most closely matching these ones resulted in a 28,000 year interglacial only 430,000 years ago. atmospheric CO2 concentration has not been THIS HIGH in over 650,000 years. Claiming that we can predict the next ice Age based on past conditions, but IGNORING the past conditions, is a LIE.
11) And now we get to the REAL point of this article: “Hey, don’t fight AGW, because that is the only thing stopping us from freezing!” It is UTTER BULLSHIT.

Global cooling looks more certain than Global warming.
In Bombay, we usually have what is known as “Pink cold”
that is pleasant cold, which we look forward to after
sultry summer and heavy rains.
For the last two/three years temperatures have
