Yes... I concur with Karmakaze's general thesis. AJ does what he does well but the solutions and the positive energies that will bring a new way to the surface are missing. Lately I've been musing about how nature has evolved by building one brain on top of another (frontal lobes on top of cerebellum, etc.) and how we should focus on building new systems on top of the old systems rather than fomenting a revolution with the aim of destroying the old system. Nature doesn't destroy the old brain when it needs a new one... she just builds a new brain and keeps the old one around for emergencies. So the oligarchy's system of slavery through deception (which maintains war, heroin production, unfair distribution of wealth, etc.) should be left in place and the new system we envision should be built on top. Gradually, in time, it will become the dominate functioning modality. So, for example, people were not made to work 40 to 60 hours a week. The whole work ethic is unnecessary and wasteful of the human potential. Humans were made to live in the garden of Eden, if you will, philosophizing, making love, performing random acts of love. Rather than advocating redistribution of wealth to accomplish this life style, do directly to the new modality. If one person owns a parcel of land, others can live with them rent free (essentially). tending the garden, helping with various construction projects, cooking and primarily doing pleasure-filled tasks, enriching the household (and the landowner) while at the same time paying no taxes, leaving a light footprint, and enjoying life the way humans were meant to. This is just one simple example but what I'm advocating is to leave the reptilian brain intact and to evolve the new modality. Jones makes we laugh sometimes when he self-deprecates about taking his family to the ballgame, or relaxing and enjoying life (to the detriment of fighting the evil madmen who've cremated care and desecrated the planet). Go directly to "Go" Alex, collect your $200 and lead by example.

Thank you Karmakaze for straightening out the difficult path to clear thinking when it comes to AGW. AJ jumps a little too quickly to embrace what turns out to be "swiftboating" of diligent, steady, evaluation of the facts. Question: Is the MIT solution in danger of being scuttled by the oligarchy because it puts too much self-control in the hands of the individual and removes the profit from their pockets? If so, how can we disseminate the MIT solution so that the discovery will belong to everyone and, just as important, so that patents are not bought and then buried by the profit interests that are strangling our economy today?

"I think prison planet has strong antiestablishment views, and they look to discredit everyone that is part of the establishment."

Here is a challenge for you. Look through all these archives and see if you can find ONE article that tells you how YOU can FIGHT the "NWO". Just one.

I have tried, and all I can find is articles telling us how powerful THEY are (killer robots, laser cannons, FEMA camps, etc etc) and how weak WE are.

If these guys are so anti-NWO, why do they seem to be trying to scare us into submission?

"AGW is a big hoax. See earlier article from Prison Planet excerpt."

No it's not, and Prison Planet has to LIE non-stop to even fool idiots like you about it.

"Man-made global warming feeds into humanity’s arrogant self-importance in thinking that it has become the master and therefore the decider of the earth’s destiny."

Not at all. It is the recognition that comes with growing up that EVERYTHING has consequences, and simply ignoring them doesn't make them go away. Our arrogance has been that we are separate from nature, that we can do anything we want and nothing can stop us, and nothing can hurt us.

"On an individual level, it also helps a person stroke their ego and feel good about themselves for recycling a few beer cans or wine bottles in the belief that they’re saving the planet, and also gives them the excuse to exercise their judgment against anyone who doesn’t do likewise."

What has AGW got to do with recycling? Idiot. THERE is some "judgment" for you! Recycling is about reducing waste, and came about as we started to recognise the mountains of refuse we were creating was beginning to choke our environment. Another one of those "growing up" things where we learn to not shit where we sleep. Of course, it has taken an artificial island made of rubbish that covers a significant proportion of the oceans for us to see that maybe just throwing shit away is not the best way to go.

"Fearmongering about an imminent climate doomsday also hogs news coverage and important environmental issues like GM food, mad scientist chimera cloning and the usurpation and abuse of corporations like Monsanto flies under the radar."

Bollocks AND hypocritical. The "important environmental issues like GM food" are every bit as much an "an imminent climate doomsday" as AGW. Except of course, GM may kill us, but AGW could possibly kill all life on Earth, if left unchecked for long enough.

"Global warming is cited as an excuse to meter out further control and surveillance over our daily lives, RFID chips on our trash cans, GPS satellite tracking and taxation by the mile, as well as a global tax at the gas pump."

So what? Terrorism is an excuse too, but that doesn't mean there is NO SUCH THING as terrorism. As for "a global tax at the gas pump", what the fuck do you think a 500% price rise in 8 years is? Every single product you buy has a "fossil fuel tax" in the form of high fuel prices. The BEST way to avoid such taxes is to STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS. MIT has proved it can be done, at least as far as electricity generation goes, but you just about never hear about that, and NEVER here at Prison Planet.

"Requiring nothing but abundant, non-toxic natural materials, this discovery could unlock the most potent, carbon-free energy source of all: the sun. "This is the nirvana of what we've been talking about for years," said MIT's Daniel Nocera, the Henry Dreyfus Professor of Energy at MIT and senior author of a paper describing the work in the July 31 issue of Science. "Solar power has always been a limited, far-off solution. Now we can seriously think about solar power as unlimited and soon.""

"Nocera hopes that within 10 years, homeowners will be able to power their homes in daylight through photovoltaic cells, while using excess solar energy to produce hydrogen and oxygen to power their own household fuel cell. Electricity-by-wire from a central source could be a thing of the past."
http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2008/oxygen-0731.html

If you want to avoid a Carbon Tax AND save even MORE money (that is, not having to pay the elites, just to live)? Lobby HARD for as much money as is needed to make that MIT solution real within ten years. Bullshitting about AGW is NOT going to save you a cent.

"The extremist wing of the environmentalist movement, characterized by people like Dr. Erik Pianka, advocate the mass culling of humanity via plagues and state sanctioned bio-terrorism, in order to “save” the earth from the disease of humanity."

Why not mention the extremist wing of the fossil fuel industry that is RIGHT NOW killing millions of people around the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan? THERE is the REAL genocide.

"Nazi-like genocidal population control measures and the environmental establishment have always held a close alliance."

Oh bullshit.

"The world is laboring under enforced adherence to a program of mass deception while scientists who attempt to blow the whistle on the fraud are silenced, tarred, ridiculed and fired."

THAT is because they are fossil fuel company paid LIARS. You are an IDIOT for listening to them.

"The biased control freaks at the United Nations and their intellectually spayed cheerleaders, whose goal it is to use the hysteria of climate change to impose draconian control measures on society and centralize world power, have declared “case closed” on the man-made origins of global warming."

Actually, no such thing has happened, and it is the SCIENTISTS that have come to a consensus. The UN simply reported on that consensus.

"However, their foolish attempts to zealously mute mere expression of an opposing view betray the inherent flaws of their own mantra and will ultimately lead to its downfall."

Bullshit. Every time the liars and deniers are exposed, they lose a little more of their sheep-like followers. When La Nina is over and all those liars have to admit there HASN'T been any cooling, and that we AREN'T going into a new Ice Age, they will lose even more.

In fact the last remaining deniers like you are ignorant or retarded anyway, so the rest of us are pretty much ignoring what you have to say.

As the internet becomes more dominant in homes of the general public, the liars can no longer run away from their lies. People like me will be ready with all the links showing how they have lied non-stop for decades. Being proved wrong OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN ruins your credibility, and people won't keep falling for it much longer.

I agree with most of what you said, Karmakaze.

I think prison planet has strong antiestablishment views, and they look to discredit everyone that is part of the establishment. This is probably better, because there is little truth and mostly lies that trying to really be fair to the actual scientist. I am not writing of the ones parroting this misinformation, but the people who suffer through the years of research and proving a problem.

I think there is a greater chance of the earth burning up from a war then a 1000 years of industrialization.

@Article

First, if Solar activity is causing warming as this article is trying to subtly suggest, why has Solar activity been decreasing for the last 50 years, during which time 1/3 of the observed warming has taken place?

Second, the "Little Ice Age" was NOT a real Ice Age, it wasn't cold enough for long enough to change ice cover. In fact it lead to between 0.4 and 0.9 Degrees Celsius cooling, which at most would barely reverse temperatures to their pre-industrial level, and that for only 50 years!

Third, there is NOTHING unusual about having sunspots from both cycles present during the minimum, despite what the article implies.

Forth, the model that predicted that Solar Cycle 24 will be particularly strong also predicted that the cycle would begin in early 2008, which it did (as this article quickly rushed over).

Fifth, the "statistical research" of the "two different interpretations" are not even remotely similar in methodology. One looked at past cycles and showed that there have been LONGER minimums less than 100 years ago, and they didn't lead to a grand minima (what the Maunder Minimum is called).

The other looked at a possible correlation between magnetic strength of spots and their temperature, and with no historical evidence to support the claim said that this meant a grand minima was starting. No one knows what the Sun was doing before the Maunder Minimum magnetically speaking, so for all we know this correlation could mean that a particularly STRONG cycle is about to begin.

They just ran with data that could not support their conclusion, which is why it was rejected by Nature! If they could have shown that the same correlation was observed before the Maunder Minimum (the only grand minima we have ever observed) then maybe they could have claimed this was an indicator. As it is, it is nothing but an interesting correlation that POSSIBLY contradicts all the other evidence we have. To make such a certain conclusion from such uncertain data is unscientific.

"Livingston says he will wait for the right time before resubmitting it."

Why not simply remove the unsupported claim and resubmit it now? Obviously the answer is, it is the CLAIM not the DATA that he is interested in pushing. I wonder why? Maybe this might go some way to answering that question:

"Livingston said their projections were based on observations of a trend in decreasingly powerful sunspots but reviewers felt it was merely a statistical argument.

He is aware that some opponents of the prevailing position that climate change and global warming are the result of manmade activity — greenhouse gas, specifically carbon dioxide, buildup — are very much interested in the idea that changes might be related to solar activity.

"But it has not been proven yet," cautioned Livingston, an astronomer emeritus who still works out of an office at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory headquarters building on the University of Arizona campus."

Read that last quote again:

"But it has not been proven YET" (my emphasis). Could this indicate he is an AGW denier? It sure sounds like he is hoping that the Sun can be blamed somehow...

The fact is, the TOTAL variation in solar radiation reaching Earth, from the maximum to the minimum is less than 0.1%, such a small variation can not possibly be responsible for the warming we have seen over the last 200 years, not least because the Sun has been weakening slightly for the last 50!

Basically, the amount of evidence that the Sun is responsible for even PART of the warming is FAR LESS than the evidence that anthropogenic GHG emissions are responsible.

If the Sun IS responsible (as highly unlikely as that is) then we may not prevent Global Warming by reducing GHG emissions, but we won't HURT the environment either. The WORST that can happen by reducing GHG's is that the elites make less money than they do now, and that CAN'T be bad!

MIT has found a way to cheaply, easily and safely extract Hydrogen from water using solar power, meaning that "within ten years" it will be possible to make a unit that can power a house and extract hydrogen from water during the daytime, and then at night use the stored Hydrogen in a fuel cell to power the house, resulting in only the water being ready for Hydrogen extraction again the next day. This would be a closed cycle system made of abundant and (currently cheap) raw materials that could take you off the electricity grid forever. Imagine never having to pay for electricity again!

Even if AGW is false, surely everyone here would like the savings that would bring! As electricity generation is the largest source of anthropogenic GHG emissions, we would not even have to give up using petrol to power our cars (although Hydrogen would be a cheaper option by then), so why not?

If as is FAR MORE LIKELY (in fact nearly 100% certain) AGW is real and a major threat, then the MIT system could SAVE US.

So why is there not a HUGE fuss over this? Who stands to lose if that system comes to fruition? It sure ain't us!
