Another chump cop wasting the taxpayers money and time….yes, if there is a choice between an animal dying or a human dying, the common sense thing to do is to try and save the human first (duh)…..this does not mean that we let all animals suffer and die when they can be treated….I wonder if the people who stated that it was a just a dog would feel the same way if this happened to their family or friend’s pets…..

I love my dog but IT IS A DOG! If he were to die he would die and we would get another dog.
Recently he got into some stuff and had to go to the vet. It cost about 200.00 to keep him alive, had it been a whole lot more he wouldn’t have been treated.

That cop should have given them escort to the vet office. It’s just as bad as the couple who got pulled over while they were rushing to the hospital while the wife was about to give birth. These cops need to be reminded of who they serve.

A person has no right placing others on the road in danger like that- 100 mph?!!! Our emergency vehicles aren’t allowed to do such things! What if an innocent family of four was killed by that man.?
The Cop was also very very wrong and should be ordered to attend PR classes. As a (supposed) “Peace Officer” and civil servant, his duty is to not make judgments but act humanly. It would have been easy for him to call in emergency help once he has made sure the public safety has been secured.

I never would of stopped. And people should do something about that cop. A gun is nothing when you have a mob of people kicking your ass. Too many people hide behind a badge to be mean. I hope he is on patrol in a nasty area and a bunch of wild dogs tear his face apart. Now that would be a sweet taste of karma.

This time the cop is right, Its just a f-cking dog, The cop should have shot the dog, and tasered the stupid looking dolt yuppys, or maybe give them a mohogany shampoo for endagering the people on the road including woman and children, they eat dogs in asia, this ticket was totaly justified, people are obsessed, with animals, and these selfish assholes care more about a dog then people, cops should have a judge lock them up as a 5150 nut jobs. reckless disreguard for the safty of others. If it was you or me on the road driving like that for sure we would be in jail.

Training for all traffic cops includes instructions and protocols on how to respond to drivers who are speeding down a roadway because of a personal emergency – such as rushing to the hospital, news that their house is on fire, whatever. There is absolutely no excuse for this policeman’s behavior. Google the Texas police department in San Marcos or wherever it i, and call/fax your demands that this man is fired. My cousin in Florida is a cop and had a “best friend” K9 until the dog got hit and killed by – yes you guessed it- friendly fire during a shootout! “You can get another one” doesn’t apply – all that training.. all that time & devotion – HEY let’s ask some K9 patrollers to leave feedback on this forum. Put that sorry excuse for a cop up against a few German Shepards, without any body gear…. “Oh it’s just a piece of your ass the dog tore out with his bare teeth – you cant get another one!” Pencil neck geek who got bullied in school is what he looks like!

i have to agree with some here… it is just a dog. people need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that they have been conditioned to love a meanigless pet more than their fellow brother/sister. the energy gone into producing the food for their numerous pets could have saved hundreds if not thousands of HUMAN lives that are starving to death at this very moment.
and before you all go crazy on so-called animal-haters:
1) i have my own dog which i love very much.
2) i realize its just a dog and would never weigh its life in accordance with a human’s life
3) i love all animals… they taste great!
i have a tremendous respect for all living things in this world. there are some who take heart to protecting them. just keep it to yourself. you don’t draw energy to your cause by pleas, because if you scream at me to donate to save some dogs, i’ll tell you to adopt a starving african infant…

If You were to kill a K-9 police dog,”YOU WILL BE TRIED IN THE MURDER OF A POLICE OFFICER”,”they” consider an assault on a k-9 unit as an assault on an officer,Have you never seen these cops in action racing to the Vet,blocking streets and everything else driving like maniacs for their “JUST A DOG” when one of them gets hurt?,, so the “it’s just a dog” excuse doesn’t quite fly here,I have raised dogs since I can remember and the 2 I have now are so loyal to my family and friends,that I trust their judgment over most people I know.If my dog’s life were to be in jeopardy I would drive as fast as necessary to get to emergency treatment as safely as possible,if a cop were to stop me,I would tell him the situation and ask for an escort,if I didn’t get it,I’d tell him which Vet he could find me at and drive away,The facts are this,with no attitude intended,I’m a Professional race car driver,and have been for longer than most of these punk ass cops have been alive,they have no basis to ever tell me that their driving ability out qualifies mine,and most in my area know this “Fact”…not only am I a professional driver,but the down side of that means that I am also a professional “crasher”….”and I have superior car driving skills above normal drivers ability”,including police officers.

Even the judges in my area refuse to find me guilty in traffic court because they know they have no basis to say that I am guilty when they know I can take them to school on vehicle safety,speed,handling in extreme stressed situations,slick roads,so on and so forth,
My main point to all this is that even though these dicks stand there with a gun, it doesn’t give them all powerful authority and jurisdiction to treat you as a criminal that has already been convicted,he is a servant of the state,city,county,whatever,
His only “authority” is to inform “The Court” of “The Violation” that “He” himself has claimed you have committed…
“He is not authorized to determine your driving qualification or skill and ability level”,
He also does not have authority to hold you in a life or death situation when time is of the essence and he has been notified that there is a life in danger which may result in death,be it human or animal,
The courts are very clear how to treat you if you neglect your animals,but in turn,they want to prosecute you for taking emergency action to save your animal also.
Up is down,left is right???
It’s all backwards people,and we need to look at the reflection to figure out the right direction to go,
I would suggest an attorney to sue the officer as a citizen,not an officer,even if they do pay the fine for speeding,they should be able to win a sizable amount in a civil suit for wrongful death.No matter if it was a “dog” or not…

am I the only one who’s having a hard time working up any sympathy for those pansy hipster drones and their ankle-biting pooch?
All involved could have handled the situation better, to be sure. Given the current state of police tactice, I was almost expecting that guy to get tased then cuffed as he leaped from his vehicle.

My dad gave my dog mouth to mouth resuscitation when it was hit by a car. I just watched Marley and Me last night and tears rolled down my face for the last 30 minutes. I even read the book before saw the movie and cried then too.
So, I can fully understand how this guy feels about his dog. Some people really love their dogs.

That police officer should be barred from the police force because he uses very poor judgment and it seems that if it were a real live person he would have come to the same conclusion.
“Oh it’s just your grandmother”. When will the police learn that sometimes giving a person assistance -rather than a speeding ticket goes a long way to doing their job.
It has become a world where all police officers do is hand out tickets, and that is NOT what they were invented to do. Being kind to animals is a trait in any good person, and people who do not like dogs -there is a real problem with that.
It was a cruel judgment to let a dog die in a car- for the sake of meeting a quota.
