The Iraqi parliament speaker has apparently announced his resignation after MPs argued over the journalist who threw his shoes at George Bush.
The chamber became chaotic as members screamed at each other about whether or not Muntadhar al Zeidi should be freed.
Eventually, speaker Mahmoud al Mashhadani said: “I have no honour leading this parliament and I announce my resignation.”
But an official in his office said he was unsure about the seriousness of the announcement.

Al Mashhadani, a member of the minority Sunni faction, has previously threatened to resign and has been suspended for embarrassing the Iraqi prime minister with his erratic behaviour.
The chaos in parliament came after Al Zeidi appeared before an investigative judge, who will review the evidence in the case and decide whether he should stand trial.
The reporter has been in custody since Sunday, when he targeted the US President during a news conference in Baghdad.
Iraq’s interior ministry has denied reports that the journalist suffered a severe beating after being arrested.
