Stubborn glaciers fail to retreat, awkward polar bears continue to multiply

Second only to the melting of the Arctic ice and those “drowning” polar bears, there is no scare with which the global warmists, led by Al Gore, more like to chill our blood than the fast-vanishing glaciers of the Himalayas, which help to provide water for a sixth of mankind. Recently one newspaper published large pictures to illustrate the alarming retreat in the past 40 years of the Rongbuk glacier below Everest. Indian meteorologists, it was reported, were warning that, thanks to global warming, all the Himalayan glaciers could have disappeared by 2035.
Yet two days earlier a report by the UN Environment Program had claimed that the cause of the melting glaciers was not global warming but the local warming effect of a vast “atmospheric brown cloud” hanging over that region, made up of soot particles from Asia’s dramatically increased burning of fossil fuels and deforestation.
Furthermore a British study published two years ago by the American Meteorological Society found that glaciers are only shrinking in the eastern Himalayas. Further west, in the Hindu Kush and the Karakoram, glaciers are “thickening and expanding”.
Meanwhile, all last week, ITV News was running a series of wearisomely familiar scare stories on the disappearing Arctic ice and those “doomed” polar bears – without telling its viewers that satellite images now show ice cover above its 30-year average, or that polar bear numbers are at record level. But then “polar bears not drowning after all – as snow falls over large parts of Britain” doesn’t really make a story.

Not to mention the increasing and thickening of the glaciers in Alaska… And where was the BBC coverage of Whales being culled because they were trapped by increasing amounts of ice? Polar bears dying because of melting = bad, even though the story is false… Whales dying trapped by ice? = Non story apparently, even though it is true!

Today meteorologist reported that they predict the winter to be a few degres warmer than normal here in Scandinavia. This is data that I can verify and experience myself, so let’s see what happens. But I suspect they are right. I any case, Swedish glaciers are shrinking rapidly. Hoax? I don’t think so. I’m open to rational and well founded arguments, and to change my mind, but in this case it’s more likely that there is a conspiracy behind all the hoax talks. I understand that there’s a lot of money from the oil industry floating around, very similar to what the tobacco companies did.

Climate models that forecast global warming correctly predicted the Arctic sea ice growth that we are currently witnessing. It has to do with latent heat exchange. Energy, in the form of heat, is exiting the ocean into the earth’s atmosphere. This process results in a cooling of the ocean’s surface (ice formation) and a slight warming of the atmospheric temperature.

Hey Kent #8 are you seriously not doubting the whole hoax of human caused global warming while all the evidence is we are going into a deep freeze. Check into sun spot data and other opinions before you display your hypnotic corporate media induced cartoon like opinions on a site like this. People here for the most part have awoken to reality. Your mind can be rehabilitated Kent so once the anger of someone opposing your savior Al Goregone subsides you will wake to the truly ugly truth. Yes you and your children, grandchildren etc. are in peril but as God is my witness it isn’t global warming but the NWO that is the evil threat.

we need to nuke the ice caps on Mars to warm it up, the average surface temperature on Mars is -46, I just read it on the Mars rovers website and as the ice caps melt they explode with carbon dioxide “on space.com website”, they shrink and grow with the seasons. 4 of the biggest volcanoes known to man exist on Mars, so nuke them too!!! Make them erupt and warm up that planet out of its deep freeze like in Total Recall… I’m serious, I hope China does it, they’re serious about future manned Mars missions. NASA says the southern polar cap of Mars alone has enough water in them to cover all of Mars in 30 feet of water.

Regardless of how the icecaps and glaciers are melting – they are melting! I wouldn’t believe anything that half of these government sponsored research groups actually say. Look who pays their bills, and then one should realize what ‘findings’ are in their best interest. As for the bears; polar bears can swim on average about 60 – 70 miles non-stop. When the bears are hungry they head North, and swim if necessary. If the ice is a long way off, the bear can’t stop and tread water – you do the math.

Oh, so the glaciers are melting because of a big brown cloud caused by coal fired industry and NOT global warming after all. Phew! Well THAT’s okay then.
