In a truly bizarre and desperate move, the National Education Association (NEA) has launched a TV ad campaign against career doctor Rand Paul. Apparently the NEA holds Dr. Paul responsible for the exploding “meth” problem in Kentucky (please hold your laughter)!
I guess the NEA lives in a false reality, a world in which you ignore the hard facts, for example: Jack Conway was elected in 2007 as Kentucky’s Attorney General on a platform of solving Kentucky’s drug problems, but under Jack’s watch – “meth” arrests have doubled!
So why would a teachers’ union blame Rand Paul for Kentucky’s drug problem, when Rand Paul’s opponent – Kentucky’s Attorney General Jack Conway, the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the Commonwealth – is directly responsible for the explosion of drug related arrests?
It’s an honest question, especially considering when Jack Conway and Rand Paul have such extreme differences when it comes to education. Why didn’t they attack Rand Paul on his educational positions? I think you know the answer!
Here is the deceptive false attack ad (a teachers union sinking this low on drugs *rolls eyes*):
- A d v e r t i s e m e n t
Dr. Rand Paul told an AP reporter that drugs weren’t a pressing issue COMPARED to the issues of the day. For example: Most voters in eastern Kentucky would be appalled to know Jack Conway supports forcing the military to allow gays to openly serve; Jack Conway supports the killing of the unborn (abortions); Jack Conway supports amnesty for illegal immigrants; and has said gay marriage should be allowed in the states. With a few of these issues in mind, it’s easy to see what Dr. Paul was talking about, which was when voters find out Jack Conway is an extreme left-winger – drugs will be the last thing on their minds.
So not only is the ad completely false and misleading – the statement about non-violent crime used in the video was taken out of the context of a discussion about motorcycle helmets – it’s telling that the national teachers’ union would attack and smear Rand Paul over the drug war!
The unions are corrupt and the political system in America is broken!
Side note: NEA and KEA have sent out hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of mailers to Kentucky voters smearing Rand Paul.
