A 33-year-old man was arrested by terror police at Gatwick airport yesterday afternoon as he attempted to take a flight out of the UK.
And early this morning three other men – an 18-year-old, a 31-year-old and a 22-year-old – were arrested at separate residential addresses in east London as part of a Metropolitan Police investigation into travel to Syria in support of alleged terrorist activity.
A spokesman said: ‘Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested another three men on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000.’
‘They are all in custody at a south London police station where they will be interviewed by officers from the MPS’s Counter Terrorism Command.’
