In Texas–where the state house is now considering legislation to prohibit abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy–abortionists terminate the lives of unborn babies who have reached at least the 21st week of gestation at a rate of more than one per day.
Each year, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention publishes an “Abortion Surveillance” report, providing statistics on the abortions performed in 46 states, plus the District of Columbia and New York City. (California, Delaware, Maryland and New Hampshire do not provide the CDC with their abortion statistics.)
The latest “Abortion Surveillance” report was published in November 2012 and covers the abortions performed in 2009.
In Texas in 2009, according to the report, abortionists terminated a total of 74,962 unborn babies.
