Hopes media won’t ‘let it die’
Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra spoke to two Texas television stations Wednesday night regarding his investigation of injustice within the prison systems which led to the indictment by a Texas grand jury of Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, along with other officials.
Cheney’s stake in the Vanguard Group, which holds interests in the private prison companies that run the detention centers, was cited in the indictment. Cheney is accused of a conflict of interest and “at least misdemeanor assaults” on detainees through his ownership interest.
Gonzales is accused of using his position during his time as Attorney General to block an investigation into abuses at the detention centers, located in south Texas.
Democratic state Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. is also named in the indictment, Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra said. Lucio’s attorney, Michael R. Cowen, called Guerra a “one-man circus.” “In the March 2008 Democratic Primary,” he added, “70 percent of the Willacy County voters elected to remove Juan Guerra…Now, with only a few weeks left in his term, Mr. Guerra has again chosen to misuse his position in an attempt to seek revenge on those who he sees as political enemies.”
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
Guerra told KVEO 23, an NBC affiliate in Texas, that “elected officials were embedded into the prison business and that it goes all the way to the top.”
“Now that these indictments have seen the light of day, Guerra says, it’s important they are not quashed,” the station reported.
“I’m going to try and do what I can do,” Guerra told KVEO. “Impose it to you guys, and educate you guys, so you don’t let it die.”
On ABC affiliate KRGV Newschannel 5, Guerra showed “records that he says could be used to prove Dick Cheney is guilty of criminal activity.”
“Greed will get you discovered and arrested every time, and that’s what happened to Cheney,” Guerra said.
Excerpts from KRGV’s report:
####
Guerra says he went through Cheney’s financial records and the prison companies’ financial records and found the connection. The three top prison companies Guerra researched were Corrections Corporation of America, GEO Group and Cornell. Those three have the Vanguard Group in common, which is an investment company that puts money into all three prison companies.
“We knew Vanguard was the key,” said Guerra.
Guerra showed us the Vice President’s financial disclosure from last year and it shows he owned shares in the Vanguard Group. Guerra estimates Cheney has $85 million invested in Vanguard and in turn, into the prison companies.
“The problem you have is he now has a direct interest,” said Guerra. And according to Guerra, it’s a direct interest in making sure the prison companies stay in business.

Mr. Guerra needs to surround himself with armed guards. Chaney won’t let this get past anyone. No doubt Chaney has already sent out his orders: “Make Guerra dissappear.” Or maybe a convenient suicide.
I sincerely hope this peice of filth who calls himself the Vice president gets what’s coming to him in spades. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was directly involved himself. He raped Cathy O’Brien and many others including children. This creature is a monster in human form.We must destroy it.

You can bet Bush will be there with a pardon. The present laws allow for a president to pardon anyone for past crimes committed and you can be sure that this impostor who calls himself president will use this abused power.I am hoping that the American public will not stand for this abuse of power and demand this piece of human garbage face up to this particular charge and all charges he faces. The people at the top may decide hes more trouble then hes worth and its time for a final heart attack .I suggest his burial site be the city dump with Bush along side of him.

Those jellyfish in the Texas Judiciary System could have been did this shyt, they just wanted to wait til the end of Bush’s term to pull this outta their asses, cuz they were scared to do it any other time and risked getting canned, having their asses sold in supermarkets all over the United Strong Arm (USA)

Hey everyone guess what I have observed over the last 8 years?
When you look into every money making scam, big business fraud, war profiteering there is one common denominator…Dick Cheney. Haliberton, torture, Texas Prison System, Pharma and the poison Aspertame, and you can add a few more I’m sure.
I just wish that the doctor that performed his heart operation could have been a favorite doctor of mine, his name is “shakey Jake” and he was a stand in for the movie “One Flew Over the CooCoo’s Nest”.

Hey #7 and 8 !!!!
We normal people get a big kick out of the way you all write! Sounds like you went to school with Jethro Bodine and possibly even graduated 6th grade. I’m willing to bet my bottom dollar that you both have at least one tooth missing in the front, you live in a trailer which is up on blocks, and you use a rag for a gas cap on your 1978 Ford truck. Your wife rrrrrr your momma, has at least one tatoo and hasn’t washed her hair since August!

Jim Rome ,who the crap do you think you are? i am sure your s#it don’t stink either, get off of your high horse and milk it.

Just ignore Jim Rome. He’s either a CentCom plant or he has nothing better to do with his time. He’s not worth the effort.
Dick Cheney can be indicted by every court in the United States but it won’t make a difference because he’s going to be pardoned. Even if he weren’t pardoned, I doubt very much Dubai would extradite him back to the United States.
