Some people are expressing consternation and disbelief at a report by journalist Seymour Hersh that Vice President Dick Cheney had discussed the idea in his office of having some Navy Seals dress up as Iranians, and then put them in faked Iranian speedboats to make a fake attack on US ships in the Persian Gulf. The ensuing faked battle, with fake Iranians shooting at US ships and US ships firing back, he suggested, could be used to spark a war between the US and Iran.
I don’t know why people would find it hard to believe that this vice president would think up an idea like having Americans shoot at other Americans in the interest of his own warped view of national security.
After all, this is a guy who shoots his own friends.

Besides, Cheney is in good company in this kind of thinking. We know from reports of the meeting filed by British intelligence that President Bush engaged in the same kind of thing when he was having trouble getting the country and the rest of the civilized world behind his and Cheney’s plan to attack Iraq. It was disclosed years later that in early 2003, Bush suggested to Prime Minister Tony Blair that the US could paint a U-2 spy plane in UN colors and fly it over sensitive parts of Iraqi airspace, so that Saddam Hussein would order it show down. That, he argued, would anger enough UN member states to win a security resolution to support a war on Iraq, and failing that, would give the US an excuse to go in on its own. Blair was reportedly horrified at this kind of kamikaze thinking—but not horrified enough to expose the president as a nutcase.
So that’s where we are today folks. A president and a vice president who both think that it’s a great idea to either send some of your own troops under false flags into harm’s way to get shot at so you can start a war, or, even worse, to dress up some of your soldiers as the enemy you want to go after, and have them open fire on your own guys so that you can claim you were attacked, and then go to war.
Who gets tricked by all these mad schemes?
Not the Iranians, or in the earlier instance, the Iraqis. They know they aren’t attacking American forces. No. It’s us, the American people, who are being tricked. Cheney knows that most Americans think the idea of attacking Iran—especially when we’re five years into an interminable war in Iraq and seven years into another war in Afghanistan, neither of which has an end in sight—is really, really stupid. So they’re trying to think up a way to trick us into supporting doing such a stupid thing. And the only thing they can come up with to overcome of reticence is making us think that our guys are being attacked.
Now let me say that I’ve been a skeptic about people who claim the 9-11 attacks were an “inside job”—that the US government actually organized those attacks. I know all the arguments and evidence, but it always seemed to me that it was over the top to think that our leaders would try to deliberately kill Americans in order to achieve some policy goal. And yet, here we have Dick Cheney, the real brains (such as they are) behind the Bush administration, discussing a plan, using American forces, to fake an attack on other American forces.
It makes me wonder whether maybe Cheney deliberately shot his friend Harry Whittington, either to flush those damned elusive quail he was after, or so that he could generate public sympathy for the embattled President Bush. And it even makes me wonder whether crazy Dick actually did have a hand in bringing down those Twin Towers. He may be too stupid to pull something like that off, but he has made it clear that it isn’t moral scruples that would prevent him from doing such a monstrous thing.
As ludicrous, pathetic and outrageous as this administration is, we need to take this latest Hersh report seriously. It seems clear that Cheney has a predilection for using fratricide to achieve his nefarious ends.
It’s one thing when he does it with his own rifle, though. It’s another when he does it with the world’s most mighty military machine.

dude jay jay, when people start spweing out devil images from the bible, we as a movement lose all of our credibility. We must focus on the problem, those in power who are men, they are not devils or satan’s minions, they are people. the bible is only a book of alagories, it is not literal. So please dont hurt the movement by saying things that make everyone who supports this sound like a bible thumping nut.

If you think that Satan does not exist “Our movement” does not exist let alone have a chance. The anti-Semetic tone of the “Movement” is enough that God will not bless it and it is doomed to failure. There is a God, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and He will return to conquer the world in His time and on His terms. Jesus Christ the Son of God! When are people going to realize that the Iraq war was not only about oil? That was the big dividend for the big oil companies and bush/cheney cronies.
The war was started to protect “our friend” israel. We must now attack Iran for israel. Even if the USA is destroyed economically and militarily after attacking Iran? It is okay because we have protected israel, “our friend”.
Just think of all the good israel has done for its “friend”, the USA, throughout its short bloody history.
israel did not really mean to attack the USS Liberty (google USS Liberty)! It was a mistake. They told us so.

F***** Counterpunch should shut up and apologize for calling 9/11 truthers “conspiracy loons”. Alexander Cockburn has done a lot of damage with his writings. He should apologize and look into 9/11 truth or else shut up and leave this country.

What about this Si Hersh who supposedly is one of the top investigative journalist in the country sits on this info for 6 months and then presents it as though it was the daily weather report? Does it get any better? Business as usual.

Now that Astronauts Ed Mitchell and Gordon Cooper have confirmed that UFO’s are real, and also that the military has been covering it all up. Last week senior Nasa official, Clark McClelland, opened up a brand new can of beans!
McClelland revealed on his website that he saw an 8 to 9 ft tall alien on his monitor that was in the shuttle cargo bay communicating to two astronauts. McClelland also said a UFO was locked in orbit with the shuttle while this event was taking place.
This information confirms the astounding revelations of prophet Linda Newkirk regarding the extraordinary events of Revelation 12 that she has been going through, that are now about to come to a close.

Its time to stop infighting about 911 truth. Who cares what the blind say about 911. The evidence is piled so high they cant see the forest because of it. The evidence stands on its own. If a person didnt know immediately after seeing the towers fall that they just witnessed an implosion/professional demolition than they were lacking intelligence in the first place. It was obvious that there is no way those building could fall like that without the skillful work of professionals as this kind of thing is an art form. Give up on the retarded and focus on our leaders in D.C. At this point if these idiots dont see the truth there is nothing we can do about it. Notice all they can do is name call. They cant ever debate any issues because there is nothing they can say that refutes the hard evidence and eye witness testimony. So all they have is resorting to tin foil hat/conspiracy kook jibber jabber. Its standard fear based denial. They dont look at the many documentaries about that sad day. They just bury their heads in the sand.
On to the Cheney issue. Everyone who wrote here should take that same amount of time to call your Reps in D.C. and demand they take action against the V.P. If they dont then Id say they are complicit and should be dealt with accordingly. As far as 8 foot aliens go. Some have said they witnessed shape shifting by daddy Bush. Reptiles they are! Also check out the information that Bill Cooper released about all of the alien life forms that exist with us here on earth. He was killed for this and other information he released. I guess in the opinions of the mentally challenged I have my tin foil hat firmly in place.

One of the things we frequently hear in this movement for truth is that “people just don’t get it.” We have to stop saying that for two reasons. One, it becomes a self fufilling prophesy backed up by our beliefs. Two, we just don’t know, can’t know for sure, that by our exploring a topic or theme, like 911 Truth, that that act alone doesn’t reshape the planet’s consciousness in ways that will have profound implications for the future.
I believe exploring this information as a individual influences others through our collective unconsciousness by changing the awareness of the reality we live in. Like the 100th monkey syndrome, once we learn about something it opens that knowledge up to others. This belief both reinforces my actions and gives me a brighter future to live into.
I understand the alien issue is one that Alex isn’t comfortable with. Still, it is another example of a theme of knowledge that would seriously challenge many human paradigms if true and thus can be uncomfortable to examine. Just like 911 Truth was/is for many. Or vacinations. Or the SPP/NAU. Or the lies behind Global Warming. But just like 911 Truth, there is emerging a considerable body of knowledge and reported encounters that perhaps demands an open mind. Do we really know for sure? Like 911 Truth, stepping beyond what seems possible is really the only way to discover what is ultimately true or not.
AS Cheney gets caught once again with his hand in the cookie jar, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore how morally corrupt he really is. So what? How has that changed a single reality on the ground? In many ways it may strengthen his hand by instilling fear. If he would kill our soldiers, what will he do to us? All these other “conspiracy” themes can likewise generate fear and anger which I submit isn’t a healthy, full functioning state to deal with them. We cannot know the why of everything, so maybe we need to drop the good/bad labels — which creates more conflict and seperation, one of the deeper roots of the issue — and simply exist at a higher awareness where right action — as opposed to logical or emotional brain reaction — emerges more naturally. I believe this is indeed a spiritual battle where we are being pressed to evolve to a higher level of being, which includes resonating at a higher energy frequency. Emotions have energy resonance, with fear and anger being at the lower end of the scale. Are these times here to teach us that in spite of all the horrible things going on around us, we must resonate at a higher level. And by doing so, we create a healther planet for all of us.
We cannot know the ins and outs of all situatuions, however much we might be sure we do. For example, Cheney in many ways may be forcing us to evolve to the next level by being the monster he is, and as such in the end there may be reason to be grateful for his presence. After all, if these guys hadn’t run amuck we wouldn’t have collectively woken up, which I maintain we are doing massively. And if you believe that despite behavior, all of us are perfect, whole and complete reflections of the universe, or God if you will, then so are Bush and Cheney. And as such they demand our compassion and forgiveness because they in turn are reflections of ourselves.
We need to go beyond examining what is wrong all the time and start envisioning a new paradigm that we want to realize rather than focus on what we don’t want. I am not disputing the reality of the situation, but more our response to it. Instead of fighting these guys — which will produce more of the same — we have to start picturing a healed, healthy and vibrant society. “Without Vision, the people perish.” We have to start picturing a better future and then start sharing our visions for the future with others. That, I believe, is our way out of the wilderness.
