Georgia ‘pulls out of S Ossetia’
Georgia has today withdrawn its troops from the capital of South Ossetia, according to reports.
The ceasefire came just hours after claims emerged Russian jets had bombed a vital pipeline that supplies oil to the West.
After a day of heightening international tensions, Georgian leaders claimed that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which transports oil from the Caspian Sea to Turkey, had been attacked. But it is thought the bombs missed their target.

Their claims came after Russian jets struck deep into the territory of its tiny neighbour, killing civilians and ‘completely devastating’ the strategic Black Sea port of Poti, a staging post for oil and other energy supplies.
Reports last night also said that Russia had bombed the international airport in Tbilisi.
Georgian economic development minister Ekaterina Sharashidzne said: ‘This clearly shows that Russia has targeted not just Georgian economic outlets but international economic outlets as well.’
The pipeline is 30 per cent owned by BP and supplies 1 per cent of the world’s oil needs, pumping up to a million barrels of crude per day to Turkey.
It is crucial to the world’s volatile energy market and the only oil and gas route that bypasses Russia’s stranglehold on energy exports from the region.
As President Bush led the West in intensifying pressure on Russia to halt the bombing in Georgia last night, the two countries were edging closer to full-scale war over their conflicting claims for disputed territory.
Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakashvili called for a ceasefire and accused Moscow of mounting an unprovoked invasion that put ‘the entire post-Cold War order of Europe and the world at stake’.
But Moscow said that the conflict could not be resolved unless Georgia withdrew from its breakaway region of South Ossetia. The alarming developments followed a second day of drama and bloodshed in the pro-Western country in which:
• Russian jets widened the offensive by bombing the central Georgian town of Gori – Joseph Stalin’s birthplace – in an attack on military targets that Georgian authorities claimed killed 60 civilians, and attacked the port of Poti.
• Georgia claimed that Russian troops had opened a new front by moving into another disputed province, Abkhazia, which has also suffered from ethnic tensions.
• Georgia declared a state of war, recalled all its 2,000 troops from Iraq and ordered a mass call-up with reservists being sent to the war zone to ‘defend the motherland’.
• Russia claimed that it had ‘completely liberated’ the capital of South Ossetia Tskhinvali – a claim denied by Georgia – after flying in elite troops in an operation Moscow said was intended to force Georgia into a ceasefire.
• Georgia claimed to have shot down 12 Russian combat aircraft – but Moscow confirmed that only two planes were missing.
• Georgia may pull its 35-strong Olympic team out of the Beijing games because of the Russian military attacks, the country’s National Olympic Committee said.

I can’t help but think that every action and reaction has already been anticipated, calculated, and planned. I bet the elites are loving the fact that the sheeple are consumed with their own entertainment. It is regrettable that we love watching the olympics in a communist country and that we ignore a war igniting in the east. The elites can’t wait for escalation in the war and a jump in oil prices. As more death and destruction occurs, as more chaos and hopelessness spreads, as more sheeple hide their eyes and ears-lie down in blissful ignorance and arrogance, the more the elite are empowered and satisfied in their own evil plans.

Read the full story on Daily Mail. Near the end they state something about, this war being one of the most unfair mismatches in the history of the world.

I don’t think the Russians are innocent angels either, but they have a right to defend themselves when they are being pressed on every side by the west.
There have been stories of large scale beach landings being practiced in California. If you go to the Russian news agency Novosti, I found that the Russians are having large scale military manoeuvres practicing for a “beach head invasion on Russia”.

Annexation of Georgia in Russian Empire (1801-1878)
Annexation of East Georgia by Russia and adopting new forms of governing caused the discontent of wide layers of population. The important part of nobility was displeased by annulment of the kingdom and limitation of old feudal rights, and on the back o f Georgian peasants besides the heavy taxes lay the fate of national oppression. Colonial regime was of a military-police character. There was an absolute unlawfulness in the country. Russian military-men and statesmen were robbing the people and those who expressed even the lest protest, were cruelly punished. This fact caused the several anti-Russian armed actions in East Georgia in 1804-1812 and 1813. The leaders of these actions were the single representatives of the Georgian royal family, which hoped to revive the monarchy. It took the extreme forces for Russian armies to suppress the rebellions, but the experience forced the Russian government to soften its policy towards Georgia and to abolish the unlimited license of Russian executioners. Also, the members of Kartl-Kakheti Kingdom were exiled in Russia.
After beginning the domination in East Georgia, Russia started to extend its dominions in Transcaucasia. As the result of two wars with Iran, Russia occupied North Azerbaijan and East Armenia. As for West Georgia, the annexation was implemented by two stages: at first, Russia took under its protection the local political bodies (1803-Megrelia Princedom; 1804-Imereti Kingdom; 1810-Guria and Abkhazia Princedoms; 1833-Svaneti Princedom), and then gradually abolished them by the complete annexation of their territories (Imereti-1810; Guria-1828; Megrelia-1857; Svaneti-1858; Abkhazia-1864).
Abolition of Imereti Kingdom Russia managed only after the direct military aggression. The last king of Imereti Solomon II (1789-1810) was forced to escape to Osman Empire, where he died in 1815.
The policy of Tsarism, to abolish the independence of Georgian Church, caused a large rebellion in Imereti and Guria in 1819-1820, but the rebels were defeated in the struggle with Russians. Their villages were exterminated and burnt. Inspite of this, there happened another antirussian rebellion in Guria in 1841 but it was also cruelly suppressed.
There were permanent armed actions in Abkhazia too (in 1821, 1824, 1840-1842, 1866, 1877). Besides, North-West Abkhazian tribes haven’t obeyed Russia at all, they were permanently striving and after their defeat (1864) they escaped and settled in Osman Empire. After the suppression of 1866 and 1877 rebellions, Abkhazian native population was massively exiled in Turkey.
As a result of the Russia-Turkey wars Russia Empire annexed (and thus Georgia got back) the territories, conquered by Turks in the previous centuries: Samtskhe-Javaketi with its chief town Akhaltsikhe (1829), Ajara and several regions with t. Batumi (1878). This was some kind of positive fact for Georgia, attended by negative facts too. Thousands of Georgian Muslim population inhabiting the annexed territories escaped and settled in the inner regions of Osman Empire. The main reason of their escape was unwillingness to live under Russian administration.

Russian as a term exist only in the meaning of an empire.

Russian is named after the Byzantine word “Рос”. Russia has nothing to do with the former Ukrainian state Rus’, which was an enemy of the empire Byzantine. The name Russia is from 1709, after tsar Pyotr I has had paid German/western journalists for this renaming for permanent mentioning. Former Ukrainian stats ware Great Moravia (Ukrainian-Czech state with the capitol in Ukrainian founding Krakiv (Krakov) in nowadays Polen) and Scytia or Scolotia. Scytia was an invulnerable enemy for empires Byzantine and Persia. Byzantine succeeded to unite a part of the Ukrainian tribes in Khosaria which led to the fragmentation of Skytia. There has been so much tension between the west and Russia, especially US on attempts to provoke Russia that now they finally suceeded. If I were Russia I wouldn’t certainly like to hear of US attempts to place their Missile Defense systems on places like Ukraine and Czech and if I was Russia I wouldn’t certainly like to hear of countries like Georgia applying to join the NATO, so please Stephen stop making confusion because everyone with a brain cell will know who has been provoking Russia lately will ya?

Israel began selling arms to Georgia about seven years ago following an initiative by Georgian citizens who immigrated to Israel and became businesspeople.
“They contacted defense industry officials and arms dealers and told them that Georgia had relatively large budgets and could be interested in purchasing Israeli weapons,” says a source involved in arms exports.
The military cooperation between the countries developed swiftly. The fact that Georgia’s defense minister, Davit Kezerashvili, is a former Israeli who is fluent in Hebrew contributed to this cooperation.
“His door was always open to the Israelis who came and offered his country arms systems made in Israel,” the source said. “Compared to countries in Eastern Europe, the deals in this country were conducted fast, mainly due to the defense minister’s personal involvement.”
Among the Israelis who took advantage of the opportunity and began doing business in Georgia were former Minister Roni Milo and his brother Shlomo, former director-general of the Military Industries, Brigadier-General (Res.) Gal Hirsch and Major-General (Res.) Yisrael Ziv.

All i have to say about this Georgia/Russia conflict is that it could way out of hand very quickly if its not handled properly. Did mercenaries help Georgia? ‘Could the dead black soldiers have been US-CIA special covert forces up to no good’
The president of South Ossetia claims mercenaries took part in Georgia’s offensive against the breakaway republic, according to Russia’s RIA news agency. Eduard Kokoity says Ukrainians, people from the Baltics as well as nationals from other countries were involved.
Kokoity says that: “After the fighting in the city we found several bodies of citizens of the Baltic states and Ukraine. Later on I was informed that the bodies of several black men were found at the scene of a battle near school number 12. Kokoity said.
He also said some corpses had the narrow eyes typical of people from Asia.
South Ossetian officials say more than 2,000 of their civilians were killed in the attack. Georgia disputes this figure.
The Russian envoy in South Ossetia, Dmitry Medoyev, says the scene in Tskhinvali is horrific.
“The town looks like Stalingrad during WW2, with fallen trees, power lines, burnt Georgian tanks all over the streets. The dead bodies of Georgian soldiers are lying everywhere,” Medoyev said.
He also confirmed the South Ossetian President’s claim that foreign mercenaries took part in the onslaught.
“In yesterday’s attack, the advancing tanks were supposedly crewed by Ukrainians. Two unidentified bodies found today are said to have black skin. Possibly they are Americans but we can’t say for sure yet. We will be able to publish the official conclusions after carrying out special tests,” Medoyev said.

Some of you folks need to learn to use a spell checker.
The only two countries that could enter this situation and make it a thousand times worse, as far as I can see, are China and Iran. If either of those two join in, particularly China, then all bets are off. I can’t see the US sending the army in to this battle, despite the statements coming from Washington.
It’s very easy when such situations first appear to fear that this is the one that will plunge Europe back into the sort of events we saw in the 1940’s. There are currently too many plans afoot and too much money being made off Europe for this to be allowed.
When the middle classes have been totally bankrupted and the only money left to be made is in rebuilding…
The world is being forced into trading blocks (the EU, NAFTA, the African Union and so on). This conflict adds weight to the “see, we can’t let any country have sovereign national authority” argument and may lead to the Eur/Asian countries being formed into their own trading block. Thus kneecapping any one countries ambitions.
Having said all that – Russia has a narrow window of opportunity to reassert the old Soviet Union borders and may be in the process of doing just that.

How could they miss the pipeline? Blow the thing to bits! I was soooo stoked when I heard that Russia was going to blow up the pipeline the Israelis had built but then I found out it was a failed attempt and that the pipeline still exists.
