Five years ago, the Bush administration lied about weapons of mass destruction to dupe us into supporting an illegal, immoral invasion of Iraq.
A few days ago, Israel trotted out only an infinitesimally more credible excuse — the Hamas rockets case — as justification for its own murderous shock and awe in Gaza, a long-planned campaign perniciously aimed at ousting a “regime” that came to power via popular, democratic vote.
Yes, such rockets exist, but they’re little more than slingshots against Israel’s incredible military might, and they’re used out of desperation by Palestinians who’ve never been accorded the democratic space within which to gain redress of their eminently just grievances.
Israeli apologists have presented absurd propaganda about those devices.
We’ve been asked, for instance, what would we do if rockets were being launched on our homes in New York or Texas, from Canada or Mexico?
The proper answer is that, if those two nations had been unlawfully occupied or embargoed by the United States for 60 years of relentless oppression and repression, and if all attempts at peaceful change had been forcefully prevented or scuttled by the U.S., then such attacks would be an understandable, indeed a justifiable attempt at gaining intolerably deferred liberty.
Our appropriate response wouldn’t be to bomb the hell out of the nearest Canadian or Mexican city, but to collectively look into mirrors and earnestly ask ourselves, “What have we done wrong to incur their wrath?”

And then act to correct the situation.
Conscientious Israelis acknowledge that the Hamas rockets rationale is fraudulent. For instance, Jerusalem Post writer Larry Derfner has noted, “We don’t want to see how people in Gaza are living, we block it out of our minds — which, I suppose, is natural for a society at war, but which also keeps that war going longer than it might if we would recognize that Gaza is getting so much the worst of it.
“The [Palestinian] Kassam [rockets] have terrorized the 25,000 people in Sderot and its environs, but have caused very, very few deaths or serious wounds. By contrast, Israel has terrorized 1.5 million Gazans, locked them inside their awfully narrow borders, throttled their economy, and killed and seriously wounded thousands of them . . .
“This is crazy. Israel is the superpower of the Middle East, but because we still think we’re the Jews of Europe in the 1930s, or the Israelites under Pharaoh, we spend a lot more time fighting our enemies than we might if we looked at the whole picture, not just our half of it . . .”
As Gazan hospitals and morgues fill beyond capacity because of an ongoing air assault that cruelly began at precisely the hour when countless children were heading home from school, we’re expected to believe that small craters mostly in empty Israeli fields constitute this terrible episode’s chief sin.
Bugs bothered by sporadically impacting, glorified fireworks cobbled together in backyard garages are ludicrously supposed to be the primary problem, not human limbs and lives shattered by the most destructive weapons that military science can produce!
At any point during the past six decades, Israel could have had peace, simply by assenting to the great moral imperative of our time, namely the Palestinians’ right to their own, unitary, sovereign homeland.
Something which Israel continues to resist tooth and nail.
Two years ago, in Southern Lebanon, Israel engaged in similar bombings in civilian areas. Then, too, it maintained that only “terrorist” targets were being hit. As impartial observers finally ascertained the truth, clear evidence of enormous civilian carnage surfaced.
The Israeli leadership lied then, and it’s lying now.
There’s a veritable holocaust occurring in densely packed Gaza. Think Guernica, or the Warsaw Ghetto, with all the searing irony that comparison involves.
Apart from being an ethical travesty offending all decent hearts, it’s an unpardonable outrage to especially Arab/Islamic peoples around the world.
Witness the angry demonstrations in cities across the planet.
It takes no extraordinary analytical prowess to appreciate that, when the White House ridiculously blames what’s currently happening on “thugs” in Gaza, and when moderate Arab states adopt an accommodationist position pleasing the U.S. and Israel, a profound Arab/Islamic radicalization billows and swells.
New Osama bin Ladens are being born as innocents in Gaza are getting ripped to death by American-made Hellfire missiles, dispatched toward fleshly targets by Israeli pilots.
In fact, the almost certain, counterproductive outcome of Israel’s action makes us necessarily suspect that secret motives mistakenly judged by Tel Aviv to be worth the risk are actually at play.
Three possibilities spring immediately to mind:
1) Obscenely using de facto genocide to give the present Israeli government a “tough” image before upcoming national elections.
2) Roping Barack Obama into a harder pro-Israeli stance than Tel Aviv fears he’d otherwise take.
3) Creating a manipulated, intensely propagandized situation that would enable a desired Israeli attack on Iran.
Whatever the most deeply hidden reality, Israel’s gargantuan crime must be universally condemned in the strongest possible terms . . . and halted at once!

Going back to the real subject in hand – if the Palistinians had rockets with a 40 klick range don’t you think that they’d be using them against the Israelis especially in light of the developments of the last four days? I would. the truth is that just like Sadam’s chemical and bio weapons they don’t exist. And i wonder how many of these rocket attacks are actually false flag endeavours.
I wonder what 2009 really holds for us. Israel is playing a dangerous game that could go horribly wrong. How long will the other Arab states stand by and watch as the Palistinians are slaughtered? The problem is that up until now Israel has enjoyed the unconditional backing of the world’s only super power but that situation is changing.
Just in case they think no one else has been watching the news the US is almost bankrupt in more ways than one. They’ve got themselves into a hole in Iraq and Afghnistan and who knows what’s being planned for Iran? They can’t afford to get into a massive conflict in the Middle East. Add to that the re-emergance of Russian power and the emergance of China as a world power and throw into the mix the unpopularity felt about the US generally around the world at the moment and it would be hard to predict the outcome of large scale attack by the other Arab states on Israel.
Also anyone who is a regular on this site is well aware of the predicted problems that the US may well have at home – a million a month being laid-off work, the third brigade being returned home for “homeland security” detail to deal with the riots when they start.
I would say that now is probably the best time since the founding of Israel for a concerted Arab attack.
Well maybe that’s the plan. What better way to solve massive unemployment than a war?

i have noted that a lot of Arabs living in the EU are working against the freedom of their home lands preferring the luxuries and less severe punishments for any crimes they commit. there are some Muslims who would not think twice about turning in any radical non militant activist who whether they are Muslim or not. i have noted this mostly in France Germany and Holland if it exists here in the UK then it is less obvious at least locally.

We need to threaten Israel with complete withdraw of US military and economic support unless they agree to disarm and surrender all of their nuclear weapons. What real choice would Israel have but to comply? This move would improve support for the US among Arab nations and the world generally. Terrorism and the danger of a nuclear tragedy would both be alleviated. The mood would be celebratory.
Then the kicker. Once Israel has been thus declawed we move in for regime change and the internationally supervised establishment of a two-state system, as is the desire among most of the inhabitants of the Palestinian region. Considering the universal attitude towards Israel, this action would likely be far from unilateral. Also, as was the case with countries such as Germany and Japan after WWII, Israel would no longer be allowed to engage in any militaristic activities or to develop or possess weapons of war.

The Palestinians are taking the piss and need to get their own house in order. I find it sad to see that palestininan policeman with blood on his face, my heart went out to him but personaly all the other casualties on the Palestinians is the responsibilty of the Palestinians who could move them away from the fighting. Israel only targets Hamas operations and not civilians. They shouldn’t be launching attacks at Israel in the first place. Israel has been patient enough and after more than 10000 rocket attacks they have had to act against there agressive neighbour.

extremely wealthy. Why aren’t Islamic nations providing for their

Find the men that fired the rockets from Gaza into Israel.
I promise you that if you found those men and investigated their ties you would find a trail that leads back eventually to those that stand to benefit from the violence.
Who stands to benefit?
Arms manufacturers make billions from military conflict. They will never let peace exist while their profits depend upon violence.
Financiers worldwide have investments in the extremely profitable military industrial complex in the US. Their returns on their investments depend upon such violence.
Anyone still naive enough to believe that those whose billions depend upon war will not stoop to inciting war ought to throw away their TV and regain control of their minds and their ability to see cause and effect clearly.
All the violence, disarray and poverty in the world can be traced back to a vested financial interest.
You are being taken from a ride. Your hard-earned money is being stolen from you and most people don’t even comprehend how it is happening. Worst of all, our children and grandchildren are facing terrible times if we let this continue.
All we need to do to unseat our rulers is stop using their money. When we switch to an alternative currency their system will fall. The central banks will dissolve and their political actors will be out of a job.

Israel was permitted to be established on Palestinian property, instead of Germany where the holocaust happened, bc Jews were so unpopular that no one wanted them. Religion was created to mind-control the domestic population and to create a justification for the slaughter and enslavement of foreigners when no such justification could be found in reality. “God said it’s okay in THIS instance.” Far from exemplifying morality, religion is exactly the opposite. The term palestinian isnt very accurate. Most of the palestinians of today were kicked out of jordan after the creation of israel led to their leaders telling them to leave israel so they could kill all the jews. Once israel was established, the small amount of jews living in israel grew because of, logically, immigration. What do you people think is going to happen? The jews arent leaving israel. Not sure which version of modern history they fed you guys up north – Pissed from Canada, but Germany was by no means weak when Hitler decided on his world tour. Following WW1 the allies placed such heavey repairation demands on Germany that the country was babnkrupted and it’s currency worthless but most of that happened pre 1933 – Hitler was the result. I am very disappointed with Prison Planet, as well, on their reporting of these events. The reason we come to this website is that people who believe in liberty need a voice, we do not trust the world order, and Prison Planet, though you cant believe everything you read, has been a voice for us.
But I fear they have gotton too hung up on this whole Zionist movement thing, and appear to be on the side of the radial islamic movement, which is our enemy. They in their own words and deeds want to convert the whole world or destroy it. Why would any reasonable person side with that mentality. We have our own problems in the West, yes we do, but the radical Islamic movement is a common enemy, and for damm good reason!
The jews have been in that area for 3000 years and deserve the right to protect themselves. We all know how Jews can be, because of their racism they have created a lot of friction in societies all over the world; they tend to have a close nit culture, and they take care of their own, but that is what humans do. Hamas fired 3000 rockets at Israel last year and last week they killed two school girls. It’s absurd to read on Jones and posts from the naive and self-absorbed Cynthia McKinnon and Cindy Sheehan about how wonderful Hamas and the Muslims are. This article is beyond all the biased articles I have seen to date. Let’s go back to the Mexico launching missiles into Texas argument. The author essentially says, “Yeah, the proper response is to bomb the crap out of Mexico but then look in a mirror and ask yourself why are they sending missiles into Texas.” To be clear, the author is saying that a proper response by Israel to rockets from Gaza is to bomb them.
Perhaps I will write my own piece in depth that prisonplanet will never publish because they only publish articles with bias toward their slant. I would suggest all to research the history of Israel, which is NOT “They came in, took the land from the Palestinians and left millions without a home.” But even forgetting the history, you have Gaza outright DECLARING that their goal is the destruction of Israel. People who are anti-Israel say, “Good.” But what you don’t say is that Israel has the right to defend herself. You literally seem to propose that SHE SHOULD JUST SUBMIT TO WHAT HAMAS PROPOSES FOR HER. That is simply ludicrous.

What notariety does Dennis Rahkonen(whoever that is)have and where did he learn to write? The whole article is a journalistic travesty! David #42–shame on you for bringing up history. You should know that no one wants to know about history or facts, just express blind emotion.
And J #83–out of 83 comments, there are about three rational ones (yours included and hopefully my other one) and 80 rants about “Them there Jew Nazis.” It’s embarrassing and one of the reasons why I haven’t listened to Alex Jones in awhile and have been checking in here less and less.
I once read a headline in The New York Post which said something like, “Cut And Run Reid Wants To Get Out Of Iraq.” Any intelligent person can see that was not REPORTING the news but having an OPINION (that we should stay in Iraq) and PRETENDING to be reporting news. Just about EVERY article here about Gaza is written in the same biased way–one-sided reporting with only U.N. sources as one example–and just about EVERY comment is also not focused on facts but “Screw then damn Jews!”
How many of you are aware that there is footage (I saw in a documentary) of armed Palestinians coming out of U.N. vans? Or footage of Palestinians FAKING armed conflicts and even deaths (a classic is a “dead” guy falling off the stretcher and then standing back up and getting back on it!) How many are aware that when Israel sends money to the Palestinians they are not properly listed like the other countries by the U.N.?
But I need to hear about how the U.N. condemns Israel–when a woman bares her arm in an Arabic country gets stoned to death and no one–U.N. and all the racists who comment here “in the name of freedom”–says boo. I respect truth more than any country or person. I guess I should respect when you essentially write, “I hate Jews!” But just don’t pretend your arguments have any basis in logic.

Actually Alex, I REALLY am moving to israel(along with several others) and renouncing my U.S. citizenship with the express intent of joining the IDF in an effort to squelch hamas atrocities.I find those IDF uniforms quite smashing.Thanks for reading.

What has been happening in the Middle East between Israel and some of it’s neighbors during the last 60 years or so is truly sad. In the end, we are ALL people, most of us
wanting to live in peace and to enjoy life and wishing the same for others.
Both the Palestinians and the Israelies have exhibited bad behavior towards each other in the last 60 years. And it’s reasonable to point this out for BOTH sides! I feel bad for the victims on each side because they are just people, most of them innocent enough and unfortunately caught in an ugly crossfire.
On Prisonplanet as of late, it seems that the Israelies get most or all of the blame for the conflict. May I politely remind us all that Yasser Arafat, the PLO and their like minded followers were not/are not exactly following in the footsteps of Ghandi or Martin Luther King and (SNCC).
As for Zionism that keeps being bantered about like a filthy word around here. Yes, there have been some Zionists who were not nice people and did some things they definitely should not have done. But at it’s core, Zionism is nothing more than the Jewish people returning to the land of their ancestors – Israel. Is that a bad thing in and of itself?
I know there are people on here who do not believe in the Bible or the Judaeo-Christian God, (that’s up to every individual to decide.) However, there are also many who do believe in the Bible. And it says that God gave Canaan as an everlasting possession to Abraham and his decendants. And the same was repeated to Isaac and Jacob. Genesis 17:7-8; Genesis 26:3-4; Genesis 35:11-12, not Ishmael. Who was along with his descendants ALSO blessed by God with vast land and oil and wealth and so forth.
The Book of Isaiah says that the Israelites would return to the land with Gentile help. (Isaiah 49:22)
And Amos 9:14-15 says that Israel is it’s own land and will never again be uprooted after God returns the Jews there as happened since 1948.
Zionism at it’s core is NOT some nefarious human construct but something ordained by God Himself. Perhaps some of the offshoots have resulted in bad or condemnable behavior but at it’s core – the return of the Jews to Israel is part of God’s plan. And that is a good thing.
Does this give Israelies an excuse to do anything they want to Palestinians? No it does not. Their own Torah tells the to be kind to strangers because the Jews were also aliens in a different land while in Egypt.
IF and when these things are understood by BOTH sides, then some semblance of peace can begin to take hold. Judging from history however, this doesn’t seem likely until the Second Coming.
In the meantime, can prisonplanet please strive for more balanced reporting! The imbalance I have detected on this subject as well as some unsubstantiated allegations on other matters, only detracts from the important and truthful things that often find their way onto this web site as well.

Try this website for another view of Biblical prophecy. I love #18: There are some people the Israelites just can’t kill. And the one about giving all the animals to man to do with what he wants. And the requirement that all men be circumcised. That policy is dangerous and against the American Association of Pediatricians.
