The corporate media is getting all giddy and affording blanket coverage to the story of Iraqis who are “regaining their sovereignty” as U.S. troops are pulled out from Iraqi cities. This is of course lurid and baseless propaganda – hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops will remain in Iraq stationed at the dozens of military bases that have been built across the country.
“As of now, there are approximately 130,000 U.S. military personnel in Iraq. Most of the U.S. soldiers that had been deployed in Iraqi cities are being returned to garrison elsewhere in country. The United States Air Force controls Iraq’s airspace. The United States Navy controls Iraq’s territorial waters,” points out the Cryptogon blog.
“Sovereignty: No. Propaganda: Yes.”
After the “official” full withdrawal date of 2011, which Admiral Mike Mullen has indicated isn’t even guaranteed, “Mr. Obama plans to leave behind a “residual force” of tens of thousands of troops to continue training Iraqi security forces, hunt down foreign terrorist cells and guard American institutions,” reported the New York Times back in February.
“Residual force” is a euphemism for “occupying army,” since only the most stupidly naive could ever believe that Iraq is now nothing more than a subservient client state of the new world order empire.

A senior military officer spelled it out more plainly to the Los Angeles Times, “When President Obama said we were going to get out within 16 months, some people heard, ‘get out,’ and everyone’s gone. But that is not going to happen,” the officer said.
Indeed, at the last count which took place nearly three years ago, the U.S. military had already built no less than 55 fully functional military bases in Iraq, with funding in place to build many more.
Furthermore, U.S. troops aren’t even leaving the cities altogether. Reports confirm that U.S. tanks will continue to patrol the areas outside of the “green zone” and the airport in Baghdad. The streets of major cities will still be patrolled by U.S.-trained Iraqi soldiers manning checkpoints everywhere harassing people for ID. In addition, if the Iraqis “request help” from U.S. troops to undertake security procedures, they’ll be right back on the streets just as before.
Iraqis themselves are not fooled by the charade. As the New York Times admits, the “celebrations” today “seemed contrived”, “Police cars were festooned with plastic flowers, and signs celebrating “independence day” were tied to blast walls and fences around the city. On Monday, night a festive evening celebration in Zahra Park with singers and entertainers drew primarily young men, many of them off-duty police officers,” according to the report.
“There is no doubt this is not national sovereignty because the Americans will stay inside Iraq in military bases,” said Najim Salim, 40, a teacher in Basra. “But the government wants to convince the citizens that there is a withdrawal of foreign troops, although the government could not protect citizens in some cities in Iraq even with the presence of U.S. forces.”
According to Websters dictionary, “sovereignty” is defined as “freedom from external control”.
Anyone who believes that Iraq is a sovereign country and has “freedom from external control,” or will ever achieve it while hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops are stationed at dozens of bases throughout the country, probably still believes that Saddam was hiding weapons of mass destruction.

They are only changing location they are not pulling out. America now owns Iraq and must hang around to occupy it’s investment til all their oil is gone then they will leave a big stinking mess like they always do and move on to the next country that has resources for them to pillage. If you are run and occupied by another country you are not free. They start the war then act like the saviors and never clean up the mess. They use countries like pawns in a giant chess game. It is sickening the war games they play in the name of profits. If some other country came over here and started war and occupied our White House then maybe those SOB’s in DC would understand the wrong they are doing to these countries. It is easy to give a command for war when you aren’t the one on the battlefield. Buncha cowards sacrificing our soldiers and destroying a land that does not belong to them and having the nerve to claim victory. USA government has much blood on their hands stinking to high heaven.

Stopping patrols, checkpoints and occupations in cities by US forces is only the begining. Jesus, even when they begin scaling down the presence in Iraq it’s never enough for you people. Yes, no reason to be there but snapping your fingers is not going to make 150,000 soldiers and thier equipment disappear. It’s called pulling out (like what “you morons” dad should have done) and it takes time. Withdrawing from major cities is the first step. Thanks for telling me my mentality, it must be easy to see from that shining white stallion on top of the moral high ground you occupy all the time. I have nothing against the Iraqi people,never supported going over there, voted against bush both times, campaigned for Ron Paul right here in Austin Texas for 6 months. They have built permanent brick and mortar military bases over there to continue the occupation permanently. We have Iraq and are a stones throw away from Iran to keep their asses in check. Wake the fuck up to what’s going on. We have no intentions of ever leaving as it is too valuable a land (oil and position-wise) to just hand back to the Iraqi’s. It’s our now suckers. That’s what’s really going on.
It’s Martial Law over there 24/7 with U.S. troops walking around like the Gestapo kicking fucking doors in of regular family people, dropping bombs on “Insurgent Stronholds” killing more innocent victims than so-called “insurgents”, that’s what the fuck is REALLY going on! I’m in Iraq right now, I have like 2 and a half more months and ill be home. this is my second deployment. the truth is the troops in al anbar province have left the cities, but we still patrol the outskirts and the rural areas. we just arent in the cities. there is no way we will be out of iraq by 2011 . we have so much gear out here, so much supplies. if we ever do get out we will probably just give the iraqis the gear thats left. al anbar has been quiet for some time, we have the occasional ied’s and sniper attacks, but not as much as a few years ago. is rumored to be the safest province in iraq, it used to be the most dangerous until the marines came in. we have more suicides out here then kia’s. im just talking about anbar province, i dont know about all of the other provinces. we (marines) out here are so bored! we get payed good money to sit around. especially now that they pulled us out of cities. they are sending a part of one company home early cus there is no use for them anymore. i am positive we will leave troops in iraq. there is no way we will be completely out. i am personally against the war, in the military we cannot speak our mind or our views. we do not have freedom of speech or expression. thats why you dont see that many active duty military at protests because they can get charged for that. when i get out ill be protesting with all of you for sure, but i dont want to lose my rank and my money or my freedom. outside the bases in iraq you will see, so much trash, the once beautiful desert is littered by the military, water bottles, MRE wrappers, energy drink cans, chem lights, all kinds of shit is out there on the ground. i know for a fact that they take all of the waste from porta johns and dumb them in the lake next to fallujah, in many of other bases, we burn… everything, plastic, wood trash human fieces, everything you can think of. there has been military personell getting sick because of all the pollution out here. sorry for rambling but i got alot more to say about the military… our ROE’s out here changed too, we now let civilians drive alongside our convoys, that is stupid, if they wanted, they can drive a VBIED ( vehicle born improvised explosive device) and blow up half the convoy. we aren’t allowed to shoot pretty much, everytime we fire a weapon in combat, there will be an investigation regardless. there is alot more bull shit ass shit we got to deal with out here, i wish i could write all this shit and send it to alex jones before i forget everything, its like a 130 degrees out here now, and most of the marines here dont do shit anymore, so why are we still here? right now they are trying to extend us and send us to afgan… sorry for rambling guys,,,

I agree, fuck the gear, i want to go home as much as anyone else, but its not going to happen… we will be here for awhile, i wish we weren’t but we will be. im glad most marine units only do 8 month deployments, the army does 15 month deployments. they are pulling the marines out soon but then we will be in afgan, the army will be taking over all of our bases soon. there is so many civilian companies out here, they are making way too much money for us to leave, most civilians out here make over 100,000 dollars a year tax free for doing almost nothing… the big american companies hire third country nationals or local nationals to do all the bitch work here and pay them 400 dollars a month, last year KBR ( a company that does alot of work out here) made 50 billion in profits. we actually give alot of jobs to iraqis doing the bitch work on our bases. im not saying i agree im just letting you know. if the iraqis and iranians did try to kick us out, they would just send more of us here, thats the only thing that would happen. i think the reason al anbar is the safest in iraq is cus we’ve fucking killed a shit load of people here over the years, especially in fallujah and ramadi. but i do agree with you , put me on a plane tommorrow, i dont care, it just wont happen

So far this all situation seems out of proportion, if any other country would kill and rape millions and never find nothing about weapons of mass destruction and other hoax stories would be subject for a lot more debate. Today i cant even see reports on European news concerning Iraq except the brits cause they are in the mix also big time.
