Celebrity gossip website TMZ has denied reports that it applied for its very own private drone, according to Gakwer [2].
The Federal Aviation Administration has been flooded with private drone applications from various businesses and institutions. A recent report suggested the aforementioned gossip site was also in the market for a drone of its very own. However, the website has since denied these allegations.
“TMZ is NOT getting in the DRONE business,” TMZ [3] said in a recent article. “We don’t have a drone; we don’t want a drone; we never applied for a drone; despite a bogus report to the contrary. Truth is, while drones are, in fact, awesome, it just ain’t true.”
According to the San Francisco Chronicle [4], the government’s decision to allow private drones for domestic use has prompted a number of groups to request applications for such technology.
