Two-year-old girl feared among four dead in Bahrain as riot police show strength in pre-dawn protest crackdown

At least four people have been killed including a two-year-old girl in Bahrain after police carried out a raid on anti-government protesters.

Riot police firing tear gas and rubber bullets stormed a landmark square in the capital Manama occupied by anti-government protesters early today, driving out demonstrators and destroying a makeshift encampment that became the hub for demands of sweeping political changes in the kingdom.

Graphic images emerged showing the child’s bullet-ridden body apparently lying in hospital.

She is understood to have been with her parents when riot officers using tear gas, live rounds and clubs swooped on thousands camped out in the main square in the capital Manama at around 3am this morning local time.
