UK Government To Install Surveillance Cameras In Private Homes
State to spy on parents, make sure kids go to bed on time, attend school

The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals.
No you aren’t reading a passage from George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, this is Britain in 2009, a country which already has more surveillance cameras watching its population than the whole of Europe put together.
Now the government is embarking on a scheme called “Family Intervention Projects” which will literally create a nanny state on steroids, with social services goons and private security guards given the authority to make regular “home checks” to ensure parents are raising their children correctly.
Telescreens will also be installed so government spies can keep an eye on whether parents are mistreating kids and whether the kids are fulfilling their obligations under a pre-signed contract.
Around 2,000 families have been targeted by this program so far and the government wants to snare 20,000 more within the next two years. The tab will be picked up by the taxpayer, with the “interventions” being funded through local council authorities.
Another key aspect of the program will see parents deemed “responsible” by the government handed the power to denounce and report bad parents who allow their children to engage in bad behavior. Such families will then be targeted for “interventions”.
Both parents and children will also be forced to sign a “behavior contract” with the government known as Home School Agreements before the start of every year, in which the state will dictate obligations that it expects to be met.
The opposition Conservative Party, who are clear favorites to win the next British election, commented that the program does not go far enough and is “too little, too late.”
Respondents to a Daily Express article about the new program expressed their shock at the totalitarian implications of what is unfolding in the United Kingdom under the guise of social services initiatives.

“Sorry, but what the hell? Why are people not up in arms about this?,” writes one, “This is a complete invasion of privacy, and it totally ignores the fact that the state does NOT own kids. It’s not up to them how parents choose to raise their children, as long as the parents do not actively harm them. Why on earth aren’t the public rioting? It’s completely anathema to basic British freedoms.”
“Excuse me!?! What an incredible intrusion into the privacy of a family! George Orwell must be spinning in his grave right now,” writes another.
“I have one comment to make: it completely violates Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Human Rights Act 1998). Has this minister and his lackies even done any basic homework on basic human rights and civil liberties? Or rather they’ve just decided to completely ignore them,” adds another.
The move to install surveillance cameras inside private homes is also on the agenda across the pond. In February 2006, Houston Chief of Police Harold Hurtt said cameras should be placed inside apartments and homes in order to “fight crime” due to there being a shortage of police officers.
“I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?” Chief Hurtt told reporters.
Andy Teas with the Houston Apartment Association supported the proposal, saying privacy concerns would take a back seat to many people who would, “appreciate the thought of extra eyes looking out for them.”
If such programs come to fruition and are implemented on a mass scale then the full scope of George Orwell’s depiction of a totalitarian society is his classic novel 1984 will have been realized.

Put a camera in my home, and it won’t be working for very damned long. About 2 seconds after the tech walks out the door. My ballbat will have a field day with the thing. Put me in jail if you want for breaking it, but I will have no camera in my home ever. Time to buy a houseboat and live in the open water people, at least until they can figure out a way to bug those while you are out to sea. The north and south pole is even starting to look good for a new home.

Splitta, I couldn’t agree more. My parents raised my siblings and me in a very conservative, Christian environment. For as long as I can remember I was inundated with the facts about the NWO and all of the lies and scandals that are tied to the corrupt global scheme laid out by the so-called “Elite”. As a child, of course, I could not fully understand the importance of the sovereignty of not only our nation, but also the other existing nations of the world. I would volunteer at Pro-Life tents with my parents at state fairs in my home state of NH as a pre-teen and teenager to spread the word that no human has the right to end any life, born or unborn. I have always been very passionate about that specific topic as well as Capital Punishment because I do not in any way advocate violence or the right of anyone, specifically within our own government, to bring harm to or kill any person regardless of their alleged crimes or because they are unwanted. In my personal opinion, we as humans should not be so audacious as to think we have the right to judge one another on such a scale that life is taken. We need to show the corporate heads that they are not our gods. They are not our judges, They are not our masters. We as a people not only have the right to seize control of our country when it is so blatantly obvious that we are now living under tyrannical rule, but we have the obligation to do so. Our founding fathers made absolutely sure to include this freedom in our Constitution, They not only predicted, but went so far as to warn the American people of the very real inevitability that someday a tyrant or group of tyrants would try to impose unlawful rules on us and strip us of our rights which we are guaranteed under the Constitution. We as a people have the obligation to stand up for what our forefathers founded FOR US. Millions of people suffered and died and some continue to suffer still into the 21st century because of the treacherous plight of what a real world war brings. We cannot allow this perpetual cycle of corrupt, murderous, psychopaths to run this world.There is absolutely no question in my mind that we will be living the reality of the New World Order within the next few years. If it’s attempted through mailing waiver forms, I’ll rip the papers up, and send them back through the mail with “F___ You!” decorating them in big black magic marker letters. If they dare to show up in person, bloody violence will ensue. If I find cameras implanted that I did not install, they will be destroyed to the last. I heard a couple of months ago that people apparently get recorded on CCTV around 300 times a day in the UK. Not sure if it’s really true or not.
If it is true, then we need to do something about it. The government are going over the top with trying to invade our privacy I reckon.

Does anybody have a link/links to government outline of this project? I’d like to see how it is actually worded so we know what to watch for. A few years ago the governor of my state was trying to pass a law that would recquire the first born of all families to have psychological exams annually starting at age two. It had similar guises to this new Britttish policy. Concerns of child abuse, neglect, drug use in the home etc. God Bless us all.

This sounds crazy but my neighbour’s sister is PAID £3 per week to have a BOX ON THE TV IN THE FRONT ROOM. She has to enter details with a remote; who has entered the room, at what time, their age and gender. Sounds unbelievable and I freaked out about it when I was told. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW for a company to do that – if they offer to PAY you, then what the hell are they going to do with the info you give them?!

The parent(s) have lost control of their kids, so the only solution would be to take them into care or get a super-nanny like the TV series. Actually camera’s are so small these days that soon we will be monitered in our home by camera’s we don’t even know of. Inside your electrical equipment. In five years time when you buy a TV, trust me they will be hidden in the sound/control area of your TV or any electrical appliance you buy.

Calm down everybody, this story is almost certainly not true. If you do a bit of checking you’ll find the Daily Express story quoted is based on stories in the more reputable Telegraph and Times which talk about 24 hour ’supervision’. The Express has changed this to CCTV surveillance and whoa! everybody is off. Think about it for a nano-second: even in CCTV loving Blighty there is no way the State would even suggest putting cameras in people’s homes, for God’s sake! It’s nonsense just like the story on Alex Jones about compulsory swine flu vaccination for the entire Greek population which turns out to be voluntary. They could check these things before posting them but they don’t bother because they don’t seem to care about accuracy if the incorrect story falls in line with their own agenda.

I’ve found no evidence of plans to place camera’s in people’s homes besides what the Daily Express and Daily Mail have reported (may I add the most unreliable papers available in our BB state). The official white papers posted by Patriot Portal make no mention to CCTV in private homes so where is this evidence. I design and install cameras and other surveillance equipment, mostly for retail stores for external night perimeter monitoring, and before that I worked as a locksmith for years.
I also help detect and remove suspected bugs in any location, for anyone.
I will never and have never placed any kind of device in a private home or office – this on principle.
I can promise anyone that if I ever see a UK style surveillance camera in my neighborhood – It will not be there long. I have the skill set to disable and remove it – and to remove myself long before the whoopwhoop bluelight boys and girls arrive.

Guys, calm down, I hate to ruin the paranoia party but, like I said earlier, this story is made up. The Daily Express changed ’supervision’ to 24 hour CCTV surveillance. Quite a leap. The idea that they are going to install CCTV in people’s homes is laughable. First the Daily Express made it up, then they quoted the shadow Home Secretary saying the scheme is ‘too little, too late’ when in fact he was referring to something else.

Surveilance… The laws it would enforce are …silly.
Most laws are made for the benefit of people in control.
and all the other ones are to give credit to laws in general.
But all of those laws are just common sense.
Sadly… many many MANY humans lack common sense.. but thats because they rely on signs and rules to survive.
But if the government loses power then people will experience much loss… It will be painful… people would die, but that may be the path to evolution. (along with removing nationalities. We are all earthlings. Stupid earthlings currently.)

I checked out the government report on Family Intervention Programmes
Unfortunately I could find no references to support the Authors claims.
There is a Government Document about FIPS but no mention of cameras in its entire 191 pages I have attached two of them, this report is about a system which are similar to our Department of Community Services [Docs] in Australia
The Daily Express article has had some comments made about it viz

Though the “Family Intervention Program” seems to mostly involve working with families without moving them, it is possible for families to be moved to a government residence and supervised there. “At the most intensive level, families who require supervision and support on a 24 hour basis stay in a core residential unit. Upon satisfactory completion of a programme, the family can move into a managed property.

Also the author mentions the exorbitant amount of $700 million as being designated for the surveillance camera project, I could find no reference anywhere this amount being designated is mentioned. It is as an unsourced quote[The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals]
As it cannot be supported I would be completely dismissive of this report on three grounds
• It is unsupported and the source article the Daily Express fails to support its claims
• The Document about Family Intervention programmes contains no references to cameras
• The amount of $700 million seems complete inaccurately ,exorbitant and is again unsupported

The whole intervention project is a fantastic idea. I live in an area where the wider community, and the police, seem to be powerless against a handful of anti-social individuals. They know that they are completely above the law.
I really believe that when traditional methods of intervention fail, alternative methods are needed. Accountability is key to sorting these families out and this project is a step towards doing exactly that, holding families accountable for individual’s actions.
The thing about cameras in private homes seems to have been plucked out of thin air. The paper says nothing about cameras inside the homes of UK residence.
The above article is full of fallacy and speculation. People in the UK are generally more politically and socially aware than a lot of the world. This includes the US. There is no public outcry because we take the time to look at the facts rather than jumping on the proverbial.
