Ukraine to build up defenses on Russian border – paper

KIEV, November 26 (RIA Novosti) – Ukraine is planning to deploy more troops on its border with Russia in light of the recent military conflict in the Caucasus, a Ukrainian business daily said on Wednesday.

Russia and Georgia fought a brief war in August after Tbilisi launched an attack on breakaway South Ossetia in a bid to bring it back under central control. Russia says that Ukraine supplied Tbilisi with weaponry during the conflict, and also sided with the West in support of Georgia.

“The events in the Caucasus have forced every country in this region to think about security. It turns out that not everything is so calm, that even Europe may experience military conflicts,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov was quoted as saying by Delo, a Russian-language business newspaper.

Yekhanurov said the plans for a redeployment of troops could be ready by the end of this week, but they should be first approved by the government and President Viktor Yushchenko.

The minister has reportedly singled out raising the combat readiness of air defense units and increasing security around strategically important facilities as priority tasks for 2009.

According to the Delo, Ukraine could initially increase the number of air defense units near the Russian border by redeploying them from its western regions. The modernization of the existing S-300, Buk-M1, Osa and Tunguska air defense systems is also on the agenda.

The redeployment and modernization plans could be hampered, however, by a lack of financing exacerbated by the global financial crisis, the paper added.

   Why is it so easy to see WW3 around the corner ? It seems if it’s almost inevitable we will go to war with Russia and Iran anymore .

   I would venture to guess that the US/NATO are behind these maneuvers also. They already provoked a military reaction out of them by raiding S Ossetia. The UN/US/NATO/CFR inbreeds are chomping at the bit to build bases in that giant plot of land. I’m guessing if it is on Ukraines’ own initiative, it will be a defensive maneuver only unless Russia attacks them, but I doubt it. Brezinsky (Obamas advisor) and Bush are doing everything they can to provoke war with Russia. It’s purely an oil based conflict. They don’t give a shit about anything but the global pipelines. Because to them inbreeds, oil is power is control. That’s why Russia and Iran are the 2 primary ‘targets’. Plain and simple. North Korea is a violent and explosive governemtal tyranny but you don’t see us going there, do you? It’s because there is no OIL in N Korea. Same with Syria, Libya, and Beirut. They want the big fish, not the bait. Sinai, Beirut, and Palestine are Israel’s problem, No comment on Israel.
   The inbreeders won’t touch China because they will get their ass handed to them and they know it. The BRIC nations will see to that. If anything starts in Iran, Russia will join the fray. They’ve already said so.
   I would like to see the UN/NATO forces repelled and neutralized. They’re world nazis, and they deserve everything coming to them. We’ll take care of our inbreeders here and make sure they are silent and sterilized.

   we are in ww3. it is an economic war
   what is next will be the final battle
   zero point is a time when the powers that be dig their bomb shelters and make the masks for a disappearance.
   this is the BIGGEST zero point in 26,000 years.
   its very important to the real powers (unseen) to gather up all the “assets” cover the tracks (ie. vanishing civilizations) so that when the dust settles they can rise from the proverbial ashes.
