Ukraine: Vaccine Ban Blamed For Sweeping Epidemic
Elections may be postponed while martial law continues. Health minister says one in two will get flu because vaccination was halted earlier this year due to deaths

The severity of the mystery epidemic in Ukraine has been blamed on a ban on flu vaccines that was imposed in September after a series of deaths, mostly of children, who had received the shot at government health clinics.
The charge has been made by Oleksy Hromazyn, spokesman for Ukraine’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, who said that the effective absence of flu vaccinations in Ukraine since September has helped widen and deepen the impact of the present flu outbreak, according to a report from the German agency dpa.
Hromazyn commented that every second Ukrainian will catch the flu this season because of the recent moratorium on vaccines.
The charge will strengthen calls from President Victor Yushchenko for the Ukrainian population to immediately get inoculated with the new vaccines despite their severe reservations over the safety of the flu shots.
Hromazyn is member of the National Security and Defense Council, the body that has been elevated to the supreme authority in Ukraine by Yushchenko in the wake of an epidemic that is still shrouded in mystery.
Despite the fact that the outbreak is now showing signs of slowing, Ukraine remains under virtual martial law after Yushchenko announced that anyone to comply with NSDC orders will be arrested.
A ban on public gatherings and a restriction of movement remains in place.
Government officials have now stated that elections scheduled for January may now be postponed and a continued state of emergency imposed.
The World Health Organization has praised the actions of the Ukrainian government, despite acknowledging that the H1N1 virus in Ukraine appears “no different there than anywhere else” and that any surge there may be due to a more susceptible population.
The influenza co-ordinator at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has a different opinion, however, noting that Ukrainian authorities have “gone over the top” with their response.

Charges that the crisis in Ukraine has been deliberately hyped into hysteria continue today, with an article out of TIME, highlighting assertions that politicians on both sides are using the developments to attack each other in a bitter case of political bickering.
Messages are mixed in Ukraine with Prime Minister Tymoshenko refusing to speak in favour of the vaccine. “I am not vaccinated,” she said in a television address this week. “I am protecting myself like everybody, with lemon, onion, garlic, everything that is needed. I think the best way is simply to protect your health through well-known means.”
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Friday that his government won’t buy vaccines for swine flu that have not been properly tested or from producers who won’t take responsibility for possible side effects, despite events in Ukraine.
“Today we are dealing with great pressure from pharmaceutical firms … we are dealing with expectations that hundreds of millions of zlotys (dollars) will be spent on vaccine while no one wants to guarantee that it has no side effects,” Tusk said.
A total of 109 people have died of flu-related symptoms since late October, according to the Health Ministry in Ukraine, however only 14 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the H1N1 swine flu strain.

Many folks in my area lined up to get the shot at the flu clinic at the local school. Cars were lined up down the road. Police had to direct traffic. And there was a line out the of the school.
The elementary and middle schools gave flu mist during school hours to students.
So many people still get shots and flu mist.
The recent hype has been that there is a shortage of the pig shot. So line up and roll your sleeve up now before it is all gone.
And I read that Wall Street is getting the pig shots first, and people are angry that the rich bankers are getting the pig shot when there is a “shortage”.

I have the same problem, I try to warn people or at least find creative ways to try and get them to do their own research, but people are tired, no one wants to hear it. But that is something we know we are to expect. Don’t give up, They are afraid of us never forget that. Soon we will all be awake, and their oil and infastructure and power will be worthless. What a load of absolute codswallop! Vaccination has not been started properly in the UK and I don’t know of anyone in the so-called “risk groups,” who has actually accepted the vaccine or indeed had swine flu. In the UK, swine flu is so mild that the Health Authorities stopped testing a couple of months ago. This outbreak in the Ukraine was so sudden that I am convinced this is neither the H1N1 virus that has been around for some time nor ordinary seasonal flu.

From the maps of the influenza spread in the UK, it all appears to be concentrated in the SE of England, around the inner city London area.
Even then, a case of swine flu was only diagnosed over the telephone if that person had the flu and someone else nearby had already been diagnosed in the same way with swine flu. All the epidemiologists were saying that this pattern didn’t match any known spread patterns.

I am not a qualified medical practitioner, so I can only advise myself, but I do try to research these issues. Homeland Security Today published an interesting article last August, at the time this flu pandemic started.

The author pointed out that new research revealed that ’secondary’ infections, were the main cause of death during the 1918 Spanish Flu, that killed tens of millions. This new bug in the Ukraine seems to be a nasty version of pneumonia, not the flu. If you catch the flu, you will probably be more prone to catch another infection like pneumonia. Taking a vaccine, is likely to ‘reduce’ your resistance to these ‘other’ infections, not ‘enhance’ your resistance. I remember feeling extremely sick for days after a flu shot in the 1970’s….never again! How on earth can it help matters to be fighting both the adverse reactions to a vaccination, and a virulent secondary infection at the same time? CAVEAT!

The Federal Government’s proposed mandatory health insurance will mean mandatory vaccinations/immunizations. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) says that for anyone who refuses to keep up-to-date vaccinations, under the new health reform, you will not be able to obtain any health care you may need until immunizations are current

Ukraine has something like 46 million people. 109 flu deaths is a fraction of regular seasonal flu deaths. If there is a pneumonic thing happening, that’s another thing again. Shutting things down like Mexico did in the case of a pneumonic outbreak makes sense. Is there something else happening to cause them to act ‘over the top’? That’s something I’d like to know.

WHO changed the definition of a “pandemic” so that it can incorporate even the normal flu. But the politics did not change! WHO can demand all members of the UN take these shots even if there is no danger!

My favorite #1 anti-viral, ANTI-FLU is ELDERBERRY (also sold in stores as Sambucol).
Elderberry stops viruses from penetrating your healthy cell walls, and therefore the flu or cold is much much milder and shorter.
Had the nasty flu two weeks ago. Instead of the normal 6 days of hell, had 2 mild days, and I still had enough energy to comfortably work most of the two days.
Can’t recommend Elderberry enough. Been using it for 6 years against both flu and cold.
Keep it around for an emergency anti-viral, at home and one in the car. Also can get it in tablet form. I take it on the first signs of anything cold-like, since Elderberry is just a nutrient.
Doesn’t work on Strep Throat or bacterial Pneumonia, only antibiotics or concentrated Oil of Oregano for those. The anti-biotic Terrimyicin can be bought for $8.00 at animal feed stores in an emergency. On some Pneumonias – 20% of the time, only Cipro or Zithromax works, either from Mexico or a prescription.
