There will be no immediate action against North Korea by the UN Security Council although the country breached council resolutions when it launched a rocket over Japan.
An emergency meeting agreed instead to continue discussions on what response it should make given the “serious situation.”
“Members of the Security Council agreed to continue consultations on the appropriate reaction by the council in accordance with its responsibilities given the urgency of the matter,” Mexico’s U.N. Ambassador Claude Heller said.
North Korea, which has tested a nuclear device and is in stalled six-party talks about ending its nuclear program, is banned from firing ballistic missiles.
The US President said Pyongyang must pay a price for the launch.
“Rules must be binding, violations must be punished, words must mean something,” Barack Obama said.

Well I don’t know what the US is going to do. They might have to get these youth brigades to step in, cause all the military is in the middle east and will be over there for a very long time. There is already talk about a cold war with Russia up in the antarctic, cause they want to start drilling oil from up there now, so if North Korea wants to try and take over the world, now is a really good oppourtunity.

I find amusing phrases that include the word ‘defy’ as it pertains to North Korea’s action(s).
Defy WHO exactly…some established authority over North Korea? By definition therefore I guess Baja China is not a sovereign nation, and neither is anyone else who ‘defies’.

North Korea defies the world opinion . So speak the ones that think they are in charge of the world . I was not offended or scared . If the UN wants to punish somebody they should start from the criminal state of Israel who defies every day dozens of UN resolutions . Norht Korea has every right to test anything they like and stuff the UN criminals .
