FLASHBACK: Scientific Study Finds Fluoride Horror Stories Factual

    Friday, July 11, 2008

Water systems serving about 30 percent of Americans are not giving them fluoridated water, six decades after fluoridation was started as a public health measure to prevent tooth decay, officials said on Thursday.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hails the reduction in dental cavities due to adding fluoride to public water supplies as one of the top 10 public health achievements of the 20th century.

Most Americans get their water from municipal or regional community water systems. A new CDC report showed that as of 2006, 69 percent of people in the United States who get water from these systems received fluoridated water, up from 65 percent in 2000 and 62 percent in 1992.

    (Article continues below)

That means that while 184 million Americans get fluoridated water from community water systems, 82 million do not.

“This is one of the dirty little secrets — that the whole nation has not yet embraced fluoridation of water, which has enormous public health benefits,” Dr. Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association, said in a telephone interview.

Fluoridation of public water supplies was introduced in 1945 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

“It’s still an under-utilized, very effective public health measure,” Dr. William Bailey of the CDC’s Division of Oral Health, who led the report, said in a telephone interview.

Some major cities still do not fluoridate their water supplies, including: San Diego; Portland, Ore.; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Wichita, Kansas. San Diego has committed to begin fluoridating its water by May 2010.

In California, the most populous of the 50 U.S. states, only 27 percent of people served by community systems were getting fluoridated water as of 2006, the CDC said. Only Hawaii (8 percent) and New Jersey (23 percent) were lower.

Fluoridation has remained controversial among some people. In fact, some opponents in the 1950s denounced it as a communist plot, which was lampooned in director Stanley Kubrick’s 1964 Cold War satire “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.”

Current opponents argue the fluoride being added to water may cause a health problems such as weak bones and bone cancer, an assertion the CDC rejects.

    1. OnePissedOffDude Says:

STOP PUTTING THAT DAMN POISON IN MY FOOD AND WATER! NO MORE HEAVY METALS! WHY DOES REUTERS ONLY ASK ONE FU<#!%& SCIENTIST! SAME WITH GLOBAL WARMING!! WHERE ARE SCIENTISTS WITH A BACK-BONE???OH YEAH?! FLUORIDE WEAKENED IT!!!!!!!!!!

    2. Tooth Brusher Says:

So why does tooth paste have the number for poison control on it? Cause it’s poison!!!

Supporters argue that small doses will not harm you. Ok, small doses of mercury doesn’t hurt you either. Huh?

This “small doses” argument signals to me one important problem, that this is a manipulative, slow attempt to decrease the health of the general public. Plain and simple.

    3. ANTI NWo4eva Says:

They put fluoride in toothpaste and water…they spray chemtrails of aluminum dioxide. So what is the connection you may ask?

The connection is this: When your body is saturated with fluoride, it drastically increases your body’s absorption of aluminum. They are both deadly poisons in themselves, but in this case, they work in tandem with each other, both designed to reduce your health.

More on the chemtrails, they may start spraying glass shards as well…this will be played off as some bogus ass “lung disease” or virus or some bullshit. Stupid Ass cowards can’t fight us like men.

    4. BeRealNow Says:

Buy bottled water. It could be contaminated also, but at least it’s traceable and verifiable. FLUORIDE in our water is the LEAST of our worries!

    5. Howard Says:

Everyone nneds their own personal supply. That is, until they figure out a way to do cloud seeding with flouride. Of course, we’ll have to be taxed for that “privilege.”

    6. Paulos Says:

They always call it a public health initiative. Even by their own account it doesn’t even help people with adult teeth. Probably doesn’t even help children with developing teeth. Has to be one of the cons of the century. Biased media. It is a convenient way to make the tax payer pay to dispose of this poison – through us. Criminal.

    7. eyestotheskies Says:

Howard, they’ve already figured how to seed the clouds with aerosolized flouride, it’s going on every day as we speak right above our heads, this whole world is one big concentration camp and we’re the prisoners. Nazis flouridated the food of their prisoners, that’s how they were able to keep millions docile. Now the whole frickin population is flouridated. No wonder this country is so retarded. We are screwed.

    8. steve tricarico Says:

Investigate the Pineal Gland. Search with words aluminum, or flouride.

    9. Gary L Varnam Says:

How about Depleted Uranium in chemtrails. That would be another way to reduce the population of useless eaters! Also put Prozac in the water supply to control the population. To top it all of, Jackbooted cops to boss us around and teaser us for fun! I am from Winthrop Maine and in this little town, at least we still have a lot of freedom here still. But I don’t think that will last for long. Now we have to have fluoride in the water, mercury in the shots, Aluminum in the air from chemtrails, and depleted uranium us in war. What next? WWIII.

    10. propaganda Says:

The CDC rejects the fact that fluoride is harmful? What testing have they done? NONE because they are not scientists and are only puppets for the pharma and chem industries. The fluoride that is put into drinking water is contaminated with arsenic and lead. If they dumped it in the lakes and oceans it would kill everything living there. Worse once that poison is in your drinking water it can not be completely removed.
Propaganda, repeat a lie often enough and the public will believe the lie as truth. Read the book The Fluoride Deception, it is great.

    11. Christar Says:

For the love of God someone organize a group and force our government to stop flouridating our water.

    12. Simon deMontfort Says:

Some attys are suing municipalities for fluoridating the water supply. They claim fluoride has killed people on dialysis, caused thyroid disease, dental & muscular fluorosis. I contacted the City of Houston about their fluoridation policy – they admitted they put more fluoride in the water than what the US govt has determined to be safe for someone w/ an Iodine deficiency. I put them on notice that fluoride is harmful. I never received a response (think they were afraid of saying too much like before). Anyway, if you are concerned about fluoride, contact the city bureaucrats, tell them about the US govt study saying fluoride is harmful, tell them about the class-action suits involving fluoride, put them on notice that fluoride is harmful, & urge them to stop using it. A professional, non-passionate, scientific or legal-type letter will be best – it should look like something you could produce in court at some future date. it would be best to send it certified as well. Possible causes of action might be under a state tort claims act.

    13. Simon deMontfort Says:

Fluoride Action Network is a good resource

      http://www.fluoridealert.org/

    14. Annie Keller Says:

People, please spend the time needed to research fluoridated water for yourselves ! You will find dozens of reports from researchers, doctors, and dentists saying fluoridated water is dangerous ! It’s associated with cancers and neurological damage – even in children – among other things ! What the hell is our government trying to do to the people? If we want less cavities and stronger teeth, then we take adequate amounts of calcium and Vitamin D ! Fluoride is a poison to the human body – just look at the back of your tube of fluoridated toothpaste tube which warns you not to swallow the toothpaste !

    15. Annie Keller Says:

Call your local water treatment center to find out if they fluoridate your water. If they do, don’t drink it or cook with it. It’s time we stand up and say no to this systematic poisoning of citizens !

    16. kevin Says:

the government wants us dead.make the bush clan drink it.

    17. mntruthseeker Says:

If we could just get more people to stand up agaisnt these monsters instead of complying or saying you’re crazy/ I get sick just smelling the water. No Way does it stop cavities and they know it. Too many sissies in the USA to go against the gov. I am hoping Jesse Ventura wins the Senate seat in MN Never thought I would say that, but we need more people like him

    18. FAU5T Says:

Interestingly up head in Ontario, Canada the City of Hamilton is debating the removal of Fluoride from their water supply. Interesting to see how this goes …

    19. Daniel Says:

Guess who was the first person to put fluoride in drinking water???
      That’s right, HITLER!!!
It supposedly made the jews in the camps more compliant.
      hmmm

    20. Tigreo Says:

Another form of Goverment control. If your not rich they don’t want you alive. They are wiping out the human race right before our eyes. I think it is time for a social revolution. Lets take back our country. Thomas Jefferson said it best when he wrote the tree of liberty. Here it is, Thomas Jefferson to William Smith.

      To William S. Smith
      Paris, November 13, 1787

      DEAR SIR,

I am now to acknoledge the receipt of your favors of October the 4th, 8th, & 26th. In the last you apologise for your letters of introduction to Americans coming here. It is so far from needing apology on your part, that it calls for thanks on mine. I endeavor to show civilities to all the Americans who come here, & will give me opportunities of doing it: and it is a matter of comfort to know from a good quarter what they are, & how far I may go in my attentions to them. Can you send me Woodmason’s bills for the two copying presses for the M. de la Fayette, & the M. de Chastellux? The latter makes one article in a considerable account, of old standing, and which I cannot present for want of this article. — I do not know whether it is to yourself or Mr. Adams I am to give my thanks for the copy of the new constitution. I beg leave through you to place them where due. It will be yet three weeks before I shall receive them from America. There are very good articles in it: & very bad. I do not know which preponderate. What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a chief magistrate eligible for a long duration, if I had ever been disposed towards one: & what we have always read of the elections of Polish kings should have forever excluded the idea of one continuable for life. Wonderful is the effect of impudent & persevering lying. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, & what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusetts? And can history produce an instance of rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it’s motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusetts: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen-yard in order. I hope in God this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted. — You ask me if any thing transpires here on the subject of S. America? Not a word. I know that there are combustible materials there, and that they wait the torch only. But this country probably will join the extinguishers. — The want of facts worth communicating to you has occasioned me to give a little loose to dissertation. We must be contented to amuse, when we cannot inform.

    21. Sean Says:

Christar, for the love of God, why don’t you become that “someone”?
