U.S. Says Pakistani Spies Forewarn Al Qaeda Allies

The United States has accused members of Pakistan’s main spy agency of tipping off al Qaeda-linked militants before U.S. missile attacks on targets in Pakistani tribal lands, Pakistan’s defense minister said.

defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar openly acknowledged American mistrust of Pakistan’s main military spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), in remarks aired on Thursday on Pakistani television.

“They think that there are some elements in the ISI at some level that when the government of Pakistan is informed of targets, then leak it to them (militants) at some level,” Mukhtar told Geo in Washington, having accompanied Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on a maiden visit to the United States.

“This is an issue on which they were a bit annoyed.”

The disclosure of American displeasure by a minister in the four-month-old civilian government of American could embarrass President Pervez Musharraf and the Pakistani military, and reawaken concern about the stability of the nuclear armed state.

The U.S. no longer gives Pakistan advance notice when it targets militants in tribal areas.

The News, a Pakistani daily from the same media group as Geo, reported that Bush had asked who was controlling the ISI.

The ISI is the main intelligence arm of the military, which directs its operations, though under the law it reports to the prime minister.

Pakistan’s security apparatus consists of the ISI, and Military Intelligence, which deals solely with military matters, and their civilian cousins, the Intelligence Bureau, Federal Investigation Agency, and the police Special Branch.

   Gee wiz, I WONDER how THAT happens?

   Its been said before, the ISI works with the MI6 to disrupt the borders of Pakistan and to create conflict in the region. NOTHING NEW. They are trying to instigate violence especially near the borders.

   For those Watson’s out there who are not quite at Sherlock’s level yet:
   1) The US marine core caught SAS SHOOTING CIVILIANS inside Basra.
   2) The Karsai government at the behest of the CIA kicked out 2 MI6 agents (the AP called them “diplomats”) trying to arm and bankroll Taliban units trying to take control of large areas in Afghanistan.
   3) They killed Benazir Bhutto and then had Scottland yard run the “investigation”. FYI, Scottland Yard is NOT Pakistani, in case you didn’t know.
   4) They have been in Tibet for years creating turmoil.

   Pakistan takes it up the ass because the leadership is too afraid to say “no” the Synarchist cabal of bankers in London. If they do, all of a sudden Pakistan is reported in the media as a “rogue state” keeping Al Qaeda safe and other nonsense.

   Based upon what happened in Afghanistan, hopefully the military knows by now NOT to tell the ISI or anybody else who you are going to bomb before you do it.

   Bush is going to be fooled by Cheney that Pakistan is supporting Al Qaeda because of some mysterious alliance between dark skinned people who “hate freedom”.

   Pakistanis supporting Arab extremists is almost as stupid as Russians supporting Chetnian extremists, but to “Joe Sixpack” it sounds about right. And since “Joe Sixpack” is president, its perfect.
