U.S. troops may be deployed in Arizona, Southwest U.S.

U.S. Defense Department plans to deploy as many 20,000 U.S. troops within the U.S. for homeland security and anti-terrorism efforts could result in a significant number being placed or having some kind of presence in Arizona and the Southwest, according to security experts.
There have been threats against the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station west of Phoenix, the Hoover Dam on the Arizona-Nevada border as well as the Las Vegas Strip and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Arizona is also home to U.S. military intelligence operations at Fort Huachuca and has become a focal point with border security efforts along the Mexican border.
The Washington Post recently reported the Pentagon plans to have up 20,000 U.S. troops placed in domestic locations with the charge of responding to security matters.
Some of those troops — which are under the U.S. Northern Command — have already been active in Arizona, helping with security efforts along the Mexican border.
The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Northern Command was created after 9/11 and is geared towards homeland security and civil defense within the U.S.
Civil libertarians on the left and right wonder what role the U.S. troops deployed on U.S. soil will play in security efforts and point to long-held precedents against having the military be involved in law enforcement matters.

I am sorry for the american people for having their republic turned into a police state. But at the same time I am glad because we in the free world (outside NATO) will get rid of some of them. Please tell Obama to keep his troops inside NATO. We in the free world do not want them here.

An important warning by Patrick Henry and Mr. Corbin in the Constitutional debates should warn those in the military what they may be establishing; It is each state and local community’s responsibility and right to defend within their own borders, not the federal government’s:
Patrick Henry: “…We are told, we are afraid to trust ourselves; that our own representatives Congress will not exercise their powers oppressively; that we shall not enslave ourselves; that the “militia cannot enslave themselves”; Who has enslaved France, Spain, Germany, Turkey, and other countries which groan under tyranny?

If it will be so in America, it will be only as it has been every where else.”
Mr. Corbin: “…Animadverting on Mr. Henry’s observations, that the French had been the instruments of their own slavery, that the Germans had enslaved the Germans, and the Spaniards the Spaniards; he asked if those nations knew any thing of “representation”.
The “want” of “this knowledge” was the “principal” cause of their bondage.”

Maybe they will be unarmed and only be able to build the ”fence” with the illegal workers. And if they are unarmed, I hope they have bottles of tequila to offer the Mexican military(INCURSIONS) when they hold them at gunpoint. the troops are being brought in from bases closeing in germany and draw downs over seas. they will be based on military posts not spread out and occupying. we could use troops along the border with mexico, of course only if they have the autority to actually do some thing to prevent the illegals from comeign across and preventing mexican military incursions. when mexican troops cross into the US. they and their equipment is returned. if US troops cross to mexico they keep our equipment.

The same problem in Ky. It is rather convenient isn’t it? I have written a article about the recent 20,000 troop deployment in the U.S. and have posted the piece 4 times as of yesterday evening on a blog I have. However, every evening when I return to my blog, it is gone (deleted). I have spoken with the administration about the incident and they have no account of any one deleting it.

AC IN AZ is an idiot. Both the AK-47 and SKS are 7.62 x 39. Don’t make threats against military personnel. You wouldn’t stand a chance. You don’t even know the proper designation of weapons systems or their effective ranges. Idiot. Good luck with your al-cheapo $120 Yugoslavian SKS ( effective range 200M +/- , adjusted for variences in production) against an M-16A2 or M-4 ( effective range 500M).

That m16 is nice,but I happen to use a 7.62×54mmR,bi-pod,1000m select range finder with several adjustments for variances,Side scope,and a bayonet,LOL
And it has an effective rate twice as far as the m16,so I could drop an easy head shot at say 800-1000 meters and watch they’re bullets fall off 200+meters short,I practice with this rifle regularly and can hit a quarter a half mile away,which translates into a skull at 3/4-1 mile away,Yea,I shoot quarters,and pop bottle lids,beer caps and any other target that requires precise marksmanship,distance over capacity will always be the better option,I also shoot a semi auto 30.06 with which I can hit the same type and distanced targets,only is succession.
Although These rifles are great,my prized firearm is my k framed .357/.38spl,S&W,awesome dropping power!!!,I’ve hunted deer with this pistol,Love it,
